Starred Thoughts
lulz. I'm not even gonna bother reading the negative, silly comments that people have to say about this. What's the bottom line? Is it promotion for Green Day? Yes! Is that a good thing? Absolutely! Good for them. I look forward to it. Go music.
The Grohl
I was surprised and feeling really meh about the news, but then I was like whatever. Their music has been featured in tons of terrible movies and it doesn't make me like them or whatever song they use any less. It's a marketing move and it's a way to get their music out there to a different audience. So whatever. Yeah lots of people will say they sold out because of this, but if that's what people wanna say then let them. I'm sure the band doesn't care because they've heard it several times before

Asa.
You guys also have to consider the band doesnt necessarily support this. It probably was the label's decision.
Femme Gauche
You guys also have to consider the band doesnt necessarily support this. It probably was the label's decision. I would be careful not to make that assumption. I don't think it is terrible they have a song in the movie, anyway, but even so, it's presumptuous to suggest that they absolutely didn't want to have the song in the movie. (I'm not saying you're being particularly presumptuous, just cautioning that this can't be the "defense" of the band, because they could very well have something to do with it). Tooooooooooooom
At the end of the day, Green Day fans will remember it as a Green Day song, not something from the Twilight movies. If it helps promote the trilogy, then excellent!!! They really arent stupid ya know? Transformers last time, Twilight and The Campaign this time round.... 1039SweetChildren
Any promo is good promo! I don't care for the series, but I'm happy with this move. Now we get Dos AND "The Forgotten" on the same day! How weird that the soundtrack, with the guys on it, will be a chart threat for Dos though. Unlike the Campaign, the Twilight series actually releases a soundtrack so the full song will probably leak in early November. We won't have to go see the film to hear it! Kitty Purry
billie has been comparing twilight to the triology couple times now WE SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING!! whatever it's a shitty movie thats probably gonna be highest grossing movie evarr in the history of the world and lots of smelly overweight tweens will hear it and....not sure if wantit also sucks its a tre song why cant they just do a dos song cuz thats what's need promoting
KGLWW
"it also sucks its a tre song why cant they just do a dos song cuz thats what's need promotion" I am pretty sure all the Dos singles will already be out by then. That is the way it was with Uno I think. I agree releasing singles at the time they are seems stupid. But I like the idea of building anticipation for Tre by releasing this song on the soundtrack

Rodrigo86
I really don't care about that fucking movie, if Radiohead and Muse did that, why not Green day? What is really annoying is the fact that they're gonna spoil as fuck the last song from the trilogy. D:
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
That's a very politically correct comment from Mike Twilight doesn't have bad soundtracks though so I don't really mind. I mean it's just a song, it's not as if there'll be a Billie as vampire cameo or something like that. Which probably would be more funny than anything anyway. Insomniac1984
Don't like the idea but they are promoting 3 albums. Therefore, GD has always been doing these kind of things. Don't be mad people.
Hero_Of_The_Hour
This is kinda hillarious...everyone is freaking out because one song is being put on the soundtrack to a crappy movie?!?! Who cares?! After Angry Birds, their own brand of Converse, Billie on The Voice (cringe x1000) and im sure im forgetting stuff you think the ridiculous means to which they will go to promote the trilogy would be fairly accepted by GD fans by now. (for non GD fans i suspect this kind of in your face marketing/get-your-band-everywhereness is not that unusual therefore mental fans don't threaten to melt down their record collections at the suggestion of their being part of a movie soundtrack (however lame).Seriously though people complained that 21c Breakdown failed in comparison to AI due to lacklustre promo now fans won't stfu about current promotional tactics. I can't say i've been thrilled with every decision made to this point but Angry Birds gave us Troublemaker and Lazy Bones early, the Converse look cool, i've sat through worse shit than Twilight to hear a new song early and The Forgotten will be most welcome thank you very much. I really don't think for a millisecond that this makes them any less cool or punk (or anything else ) than Billie losing his shit and smashing his guitar made them look more cool and more punk which some morons also thought. Long story short perception of how cool or uncool the band is means shit- its all about the music and at least this gets it out there. End rant. blitzkriegdeb
You guys realize it'll only be like 10-20 seconds of the song right? Anyone complaining that it'll "spoil the end to Tre", then don't listen to it? I don't get that argument at all. I'm so sick of people getting all up the ass with every marketing move that's been made for the trilogy. Yeah, its been unpredictable, but have the band acted any differently? Have they become huge cash cows? Or are they still the same band they've always been; putting out great music, great live shows, and ensuring that the audience gets their money's worth? The band hasn't sold out. They could be on fucking My Little Pony and Teen Wolf for all I care. The point of the matter is, they have the morals and ideas to know when enough is enough. Milo Goes To Pasalacqua
I don't think Twilight changed Muse. The band was already evolving. I don't see how a movie would change them that much anyway. It's not like they started writing a bunch songs about vampires. Muse has always done their own thing, both before and after their involvement with the soundtracks. I should probably have explained that it's kind of a sad joke i have with some people. Since Muse's change kinda came pretty much right after they contributed to the first soundtrack, so i say to people, "Twilight CHANGED Muse!" And people find that a tad amusing...hmmm. But. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy i really want Tré to be more of a surprise. and, didn't Green Day hate twilight? Where does it say that they hated Twilight? :-?
