I'm all set for the moment to come. Haha. Let's just hope it doesn't become a Paramore situation, jeez, that was disasterous.

I think GDC will be overrun with 13 year-old wanna be green day "fan" girls.

It is like that here already.

I think there will be a situation like that. I think that GD is on the Twilight-Soundtrack is the best promo (and in my opinon the only good promo) for the triology and so there will be a lot of new "fans".

I'm happy for Green Day getting good promo. But this way just doesn't sound to great. ):

It'd be cool to get promo in like a commercial ! Most bands (fun. , Passion Pit, etc) got GREAT promotions with their songs, (We Are Young, Take a Walk) and that gained a good enough exposure, yknow ?

Be prepared for the sparkling avatars and stupid names: billieissexy1998, gdvampiregirl99, iluvgdsomuchomg2002.

We're not that retarded. At least some of us.

It is like that here already.

Thanks bruh, always appreciating compliments.

The Twilight fans are already going nuts for The Forgotten. Love them or hate them, in this instance they seem to have good musical taste.

Does this work both ways ? Do I need to change my age to 13 and borrow Andre's trainer bra ?:lol:

The Twilight fans would like Manowar or Iron Maiden if the had a song on the Twilight soundtrack :D

I'm still having a hard time believing these pieces of news. Green Day's OFFICIAL website isn't saying anything. If it's true why GD.com isn't mentioning?

I'm sure a lot of people would have been less forgiving of iUno! if it was to be the only album released. I'd sure as hell be disappointed, it doesn't sound like an album that took 3 years to make, more like 6 months if that.

I don't think Uno really did take three years to make. For one thing, Green Day was touring and working on other things during two of those three years, so it's not like they literally spent the entire time recording. For another, most of the songs on Uno, in particular, were ones we heard of early on and very minor changes have been made between then and now. Finally, the band, themselves, have emphasized that, after their stint as the Foxboro Hot Tubs, they wanted to get back into that mode of fast-paced writing and recording that they used to do. Cavallo even said that Billie recorded all of his vocal tracks for all three albums in three days. So, yes, the trilogy, as a whole, was put together in very little time, relatively speaking. (Also, for comparison, even though there is a four-year span between the releases of Warning and American Idiot, it only took 6 months to actually make AI. Food for thought.)

I think GDC will be overrun with 13 year-old wanna be green day "fan" girls.

Says the 17-year-old fangirl

But, seriously, this is nothing new, dude. Status quo.

Green Day are not in danger of becoming "That Twilight Band" the way that Paramore did. They are too well-established on their own already for that to become their primary identifier.

I think, if anything, it'll kind of be like when BOBD was huge back in 05, with everyone being obsessed over the one song.

I feel like it won't make people rush out to buy the album, but it'll sure help get the band out there again. Probably gonna unleash a whole new wave of haters at the same time.

I was just perusing the iTunes comments on the soundtrack, and besides for the ones that are blatantly from Green Day fans which I ignored, it's really nice to see a lot of positive comments from random people about The Forgotten being a standout to them. Some were saying "didn't realize this was Green Day" (same people who probably have no idea that it's Green Day that sings Good Riddance... people still assume they're hard rock, which is fine by me). Most of them seem to love the song.

[Of course, you've still got a disturbing amount of "Green Day don't deserve to be on a Twilight soundtrack" to which I stab my eyes out and carry on with my day.]

For twilight fans GDC must do them a favour and mention explict, strictly under parental guidance on different forums and threads. lol

It seems weird to me, seeing people say that "I didn't realize this was Green Day" when Billie has such an immediately recognizable voice.

But then I remember that, once upon a time, I never would've thought "Brain Stew" and "Good Riddance" were by the same band...

He does have a very recognizable voice, but mainly when you hear it within their recognizable sound. Seeing as The Forgotten is a piano driven ballad, the general audience have not really heard his voice in combination with that kind of instrumental combination. So I can imagine how some are surprised that this is Green Day.

I think Billie's voice is always pretty recognizable, even outside of their normal sound. If I didn't already know this was a Green Day song, at most, I might've thought that Billie was lending guest vocals to someone else's song or else thought "Damn, if that's not Billie, then that person sounds eerily like him." (both of which describe my reaction to hearing The Network for the first time and, later, Foxboro Hot Tubs). So finding out it was Green Day would be like "oh, that explains it, then."
