iTunes is now listing Tre for December 7th! I wonder why they've changed the date?

Aw man, now this is just going to make the singles and shit more confusing for people lol because the albums will be less than a month apart.

How are singles gonna work? If so they're gonna have to release another single from iDos! soon.

Looks to me like they (Warner) want to finish the trilogy project as soon as possible because it didn't turn out well. (Although I don't know if this is even a realistic theory.)

January is worse though. This move would make sense actually since The Forgotten would be fresh with the Twilight buzz.

I don't think Warner cares much about Green Day any more. That's just sad. If Green Day dies... Well... Green Day is most of my life to be honest with ya. If Warner will kill them (I don't mean that literally :P) then... I don't even want to think of that.

On the good side, if Tre really is available on the 7th that's just to our advantage. :)

Why does it matter if it's "It's Fuck Time" or "Fuck Time"? REALLY does not matter at all, guys.

There's those people saying 'HOW DARE YOU CALL YOURSELF A FAN IF YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THE PROPER SONG TITLE!'. :P

While this change could be to capitalise on the Twilight release, it does look more and more likely that Warner are trying to bury the trilogy. As Teenage Lush points out, why do this when you know Billie is quite possibly not going to be around? Even Rob was speculating in that interview a few weeks ago that he wouldn't be back until next year, and now this. After their continuing mishandling of the single/video releases, it doesn't exactly look good.

I don't know about you guys, but I was kinda enjoying having these releases spread out a little bit. I know the changes means we get more Green Day sooner, but I can't help feeling a little disappointed :(

If that's true about December 7th I'm glad that there's less wait. But it's really weird that they are releasing it earlier when the band can't even promote it themselves, it'd have made more sense if they pushed the releases back. Like some of you said, do Warner just wanna get over with this trilogy?

With pre-orders, especially the boxsets that were paid in full upfront, pushing the albums back would really complicate things for the label because people would be pissed they have to wait longer for stuff they paid for already. The way Billie's treatment is going, I don't think the few weeks between Dec 7th and January 12th would be enough time for them to get out and promote again. Maximizing on the Twilight buzz and releasing before Christmas are two factors that are more likely to help than hurt the record, so I think it's a smart strategic move for the label.

I don't think Warner is expecting big first week sales anymore with the complete halt in physical promotion, so that's probably not even a concern now. The band can always promote the already released records when Billie's back, if they choose to.

If we get the full set earlier that's a good thing for me. With new music still to come, it's more difficult to enjoy Uno when I know there are songs on the next two that will be my favourites of the trilogy that aren't out yet.

Yeah you're right :) . Regarding christmas though, Warner should have thought about that when they set the dates.

They definitely should have, but I think they were expecting active promotion from the guys for each of the records throughout the months in between each album release, and obviously Billie's treatment threw things completely off. Also, the Twilight/The Forgotten connection probably wasn't in place yet when the dates were decided upon over the summer.

The US, UK, and Canadian iTunes all say that Tre is still being released in January. I don't even see Tre on the German iTunes store anymore. If anything, this is probably an error on the part of the German sites, or at least Amazon. Other countries' sites, except for the Canadian Amazon, are still saying January.

GD did their job well with being creative and record this stuff...its now warners turn to promote the shit out of their music and warner failed hard, not GD..

wouldnt mind if GD get independent and release new albums step by step every 1 or 2 year(s) like they did in the 90s

Really? I'm in the UK and mine is showing up as Dec 7th. Strange :/

They're too big of a band now to go independent. Indie labels don't have the means to support such a big act as Green Day. That's largely why they left Lookout - the label was unable to afford them and their growing fanbase.

I just think Warner needs to do a better job of promoting their music. But major labels overall suck in that regard too, unless it's for someone like Lady Gaga or any other currently massively popular artist. The record industry is fickle and not doing so well lately, unfortunately. I wish the whole industry was better.

That's why I'm getting my master's in Music Business - I'm on a mission to improve it for everyone, especially the artists and their fans :)

It's easy to say a label isn't doing their job promoting, but if people aren't responding, it's not necessarily their fault. It's not as simple as it would seem to fans.

Exactly my thought. I feel like the only way for Green Day to go now is independent. Warner proved with this trilogy they're not capable of promoting a punk rock band successfully, and Green Day might as well go down in popularity and fame but I seriously wouldn't care as long as they provide us with good quality music and know what they're doing.

So it's Warner's fault Billie is out of commision... oh okay...

Promoting is a 2 way street... label and band...

And GD is too big to be independant...
