Gwen Stacy
This thread is hilarious. People thinking 'substance abuse' means alcohol. People thinking him going into rehab means he'll be getting treatment for months (he'll be in an out, if he even goes there at all). People thinking he might have a genuine drug problem. People not realising that when celebrities are reported as checking into rehab it's almost always for publicity rather than being a true health concern. He's had a few sniffs and maybe a couple of drinks too many, woke up with a hangover and decided rehab is the answer. Lightweight. Oh and the rant wasn't spontaneous. Brian Gag
I do want to stress that there's no shame in getting help. If you're dealing with emotional or substance issues, find someone to talk to. It can be a group, a professional or just a friend. I think a lot of times there's a stigma placed on therapy where there shouldn't be one. The ultimate goal is to come out happier and healthier than when you went in. Mar
Finally got around to reading the stuff I missed while I was offline, and, hmm. At this point, for me, I'm sticking with Billie needed help, the performance was the breaking point for him and/or the band and its inner circle. Did he get help because Clear Channel demanded an apology/something be done to rectify any embarrassment caused to Clear Channel? IMO, no. Was the STATEMENT about him getting help written in such a way to offer a Clear Channel-demanded apology? That, I'm not so sure of, and that is actually kind of irrelevant to Billie's health. So, fuck it. I'll just be awaiting their next move and wishing him the best.

gloria123
My mom thinks all of this is suspicious. She said if it was up to Billie, if he had a problem then he would of gone into rehab without telling anyone. She says the label are making this into a big deal to cover their asses since they might look bad after what Billie did. my mom said the same thing! -Billiejoezee-
Not always, some artists are open about the issue. Not to mention if he had gone to rehab without telling us, stuff still would have been postponed or canceled Yeah but I mean look at how it's all over the place... Billie wasn't the one that told us he was going into rehab, he just said he was going to get help. I just agree with my mom on that bit. That the Label or someone wanted this to get out everywhere or something. It just all happened fast...
Doris The Spider
Seriously I can't believe this. My heart is broken. :/ But at least he is getting help. But in some ways I'm skeptical. idk
songofthecenturyx
According to iHeart's own set times, Green Day was supposed to play 45 minutes. You can make of that what you will, but I just figured I'd point it out. I saw the official set list that was given to Green Day the night of the show. They were supposed to play for 30 minutes. Trust me.Wow... sorry. I was replying to someone all the way back from page 27. Didn't realize we were on page 44 already. Looks like I have some reading to do... songofthecenturyx
As someone who aspires to work/has worked in the news business, this is the shit that makes me cringe. I'm by no means an expert (I'm just finishing up journalism school), but even I know "anonymous" sources like this are extremely frowned upon, except in extreme cases, for stories that are imperative to get to the public right away. It makes me sad to see supposedly "respectable" newspapers resorting to this just to get the first scoop on new "news," when really it's just preying on someone in a vulnerable state. "It now appears that may have been caused by a tough night of hard-partying." <-- This, for example. Said who? Your own speculation. Yeah, that's ethical. Fucking ass hole excuse for a reporter. I promise, we're not all bad. It really depends on the publication. I also work for a very reputable gossip magazine, and often our "anonymous source" or "a source close to ____" is the person themselves or their publicist. Sarcasm
I'm personally still unsure as to whether what happened in Vegas really could be classed as a meltdown. No crying or confessions, I'd say a wake up call. What I'm wondering is who took the initiative to rehab. Himself, his wife, the band, the manager. I'm gonna stop being a creep now. Fuzz
I have an email here from someone at iHeart the day Green Day was supposed to go up. Look at the times: Green Day is not scheduled to play till 11:50, Rihanna was scheduled to start at that time. Every act had roughly 30 minutes to play, then there was some time open to change the sets. Rihanna couldn't start at 11:50 if Green Day played for 45 minutes, they had to change sets. X-Saint
There was a quick segment on the news today about this. One of the broadcasters made the joke that he was woken up before September ended. Every report I've heard about this blows it WAY out of proportion. Heather.
Does anyone else not think he just wanted more time to play because that's the way he is? He felt half an hour wasn't enough. Absolutely. In fact, when I was watching it live, I didn't even consider that Green Day was being cut off, I just ASSumed Billie was being righteously selfish, like at Reading, when he pretended to fight to stay on stage. BraedonHorbacio
I know some people have been saying it's a hoax, and though I don't think it is, I could see Green Day doing something like that. Not a straight up hoax for album sales but more part of a big grand scheme, like a mockumentary type thing to show people how easily they can be influenced by the media.
