WestboundSign!
So it's on greenday.com now and on their facebook.. should be true. Wow. This somehow really made me sad, I hope he can recover soon and stop this.
Schlappy
If this is true, then this is really stupid. If I went to this concert and they only played for 25 minutes because Usher or whoever ran over. I would be really mad. These tickets were expensive, people payed to see Green Day and they get cut off. His outburst was really no big deal. I understand it was a little outrageous, but I would probably do the same. People need to calm down. Rock stars smash their instruments all the time, and now it's a big deal? Lay off. He's an adult, he didn't hurt anyone, please, calm down. are you serious? he was fucked up on friday, if he needs help he needs help. They shouldnt just ignore it because you (and many others) think it was cool

Can we stop with the damn excuses? He freaked out for no reason. He was just fucked up, thus why he is getting help. I wouldn't even be surprised if his hospitalization a couple of weeks ago was related to his condition too. In a statement to The Associated Press, the band apologized for the incident and said their set was not cut short by Clear Channel, the host of the two-day festival. bringonjennifury
I could care less if this means they cancel tour dates. I just want him to take care of himself and get the help he needs. I agree. I already bought tickets to three concerts, but that doesn't seem important anymore. His health and his well being mean a lot more. Get well soon, Billie Joe. Breakdown_EE
Hey, what does that mean? I'm sorry English is not my first language but I see that this article drew lots of attention so... What exactly is going on? sorry for writing the following in german but he asekd das heist dass er anscheinend ein drogenproblem hat und desshalb jetzt in behandlung ist. Trotsky
There are plenty of reasons actually. Yes, the rant was funny and crazy for us, but it was unprofessional and quite frankly immature on Billie Joe's part. We all placed the blame on iHeart for supposedly cutting their set down but this article confirms that our assumptions were complete bullshit. We might say Green Day don't care about success but they are signed to a record label which contractually obligates them to act like professionals and maintain business relationships. Pissing off ClearChannel could fuck over a lot of things for the band. So yeah, apologizing was definitely necessary. I'm glad Billie is getting the help he needs so he can be a functional part of the band, because he crashed and burned Friday night and we can candy-coat it all we want, but it was a cry for help essentially. Well of course the label told them to apologize, that's not the way the media will spin it but whatever. People are the way they are. George Carlin did a bunch of drugs and was naturally talented, and then later in life he got clean and he was the same person with the same rants. Shit, you could even say the same for Eminem. For the sake of his health I hope he gets off drugs. But for the sake of setting himself apart from the boring and whitewashed of mainstream music, I hope he doesn't stop pissing people off. Malleus
Billie Joe has always been into drinking! Do you guys not remember his DUI and the glorious mug shot that accompanied it? I think it's a bit silly to say that his excessive drinking makes him an addict or anything but at the same time I'm glad he's getting help with an addiction to alcohol. I doubt he was under the inflluence of any drugs aside from alcohol or marijuana at the iHeartRadio thing, so this is most likely just for alcohol. netty
If he wants to deal with substance abuse then good for him, I'm not saying he should do more drugs or drink more. All I am saying is this: The rant was fucking awesome. And if he was stoned off his balls, the rant was still fucking awesome. I remember a time when the media was constantly losing their shit over Eminem or Marilyn Manson. Artists don't do things that piss people off anymore, what's been in the news in the last few years? Lady Gaga swallowing a crucifix? The rant was funny, the fans enjoyed it, and there was no reason to give a half assed apology, that's all I'm saying. some fans didn`t enjoy it! there is nothing funny about seeing somebody like Billie in that kind of state behaving in that kind of way! and yes, this is official and whatever. its been posted on the official site now. Fuzz
I was one of those people saying that I thought his antics were hilarious on Friday, and they were. I also made a point of saying that I'd be disappointed if it became a trend, rather than the exception. It's clear that he felt (and maybe his friends and family) that he had a problem and has to deal with it. That's not funny in anyway and just because someone does something funny while fucked up isn't encouragement for them to continue doing something that could hurt them. Matt3.1
so the thing italy was probably not dehydration. friday night was hilarious but embarrassing....not just the rant, but calling a girl up on stage to "dance?" he was on more than alcohol to be that wasted.. hope he can get the help he needs and hope he is alright, pretty shocking news.
