82
One word: Capitalism. And it fucking sucks. This.I just hope he doesn't try to overdo himself again and takes the time he needs to get better. If I was in his position though, (which I was once), the LAST thing I would want is for it to be broadcasted everywhere and for someone to apologise on my behalf as well.. Alan86
Billie will be fine I'm sure. This will be a minor moment in gossip sites in a day or two and they'll have moved on to something else. It's not like Billie declared he's #winning and has Tigerblood. If he just lays low for a while gossip journalists will get bored.
jacknovella
I really hope BJ gets better soon and is getting the help he needs. It fucking sucks that this is possibly the most publicity the band has had in a long time and it's over something like this...but he's a grown man and contrary to what a lot of us like to believe, he's not invincible. That said, I'm sure he'll be back on stage kicking all kinds of ass as per usual in no time.

82
Well, knowing them they probably asked Billie before broadcasting anything. Yeah of course, but it can't be nice having it out in the open though. Just sayin', I feel for him.
ReturnTo86
Can't we just leave the poor bloke alone? The only thing which has been confirmed is 'treatment for substance abuse', doesn't necessarily mean rehab. I think iHeart was him reaching breaking point, which could have happened a few days, week or even a month ago also, it just so happened to be in the public eye this time around. This could have been going on for quite a while, you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Leave all the speculation to the press to rinse as per and wait until/if anything gets confirmed from the band officially. It's just a shame all of this has blown up on the release of uno and all the attention has been directed to this, lets not forget the music and the shit kickingly awesome album which was released today. DannyDirnt
Yeah of course, but it can't be nice having it out in the open though. Just sayin', I feel for him. Well, I don't know about that because I have never been in his situation. But when I had anorexia I didn't even want my family to know because I didn't want everyone to start telling me what I should do. So yeah, I can imagine it's frustrating to have it out there. joeysturkeyhead
Not to speculate or anything, but every January 23rd I get a little depressed. It's very subconscious, and I don't even really think about it until I'm wondering, "what the hell is wrong with me these days". Then I remember.... January 23rd, 2001 my dad passed away. It sets off something inside my brain and whether I realize it or not, I get depressed. This is the 30th anniversary of Billie's dad passing away, as he mentioned at Irving Plaza as he sang Wake Me Up.... I lost my dad at 24 years old. I can only imagine the pain and depression that sets in to a child. This depression may be really catching up with Billie now.... Yeah, we shouldn't speculate but I did notice that to. I mean, he allways cries during that song but he has never cried that much he could barely get a word out of his mouth:'(

Sorry to hear about that. But yeah, I have an eating disorder too and got put in ~rehab for that and some other stuff. It was humiliating to have the closest people know about it, so I can't imagine what it must be like to have everyone know.

Annie, get your gun
Media seems to be making it all even worse. Just've seen the video from the festival in one of my local news channel, and they didn't say anything more than just the information we already know. But still, what's making me sick is that they're NEWS for something like THIS, something terrible. Now even my family knows it and my brother and sister are making jokes. To me it's not laughing matter, I don't care if I'm overreacting -despite the info (or the lack of it). It's just that I don't know... I can't stop feeling deeply sad for this, and I'm praying for him to be ok. But I don't know what to think anymore...

I'm sorry, this must suck. I didn't even want my closest friends to know about much less "important" shit. Not to mention that, if I was Billie, I wouldn't have said anything at all and tried to give my very best to pretend everything's alright. I'm just glad that he gets help now, whether he is that kind of person or not.
BringMoreKnives
I have a question....What is this about their set not actually getting cut short? Is that the truth, or is that GD's management just trying cover their ass?
Ryan
I have a question....What is this about their set not actually getting cut short? Is that the truth, or is that GD's management just trying cover their ass? They started late, but it's not because Usher went long. The festival was behind schedule. Each performer, except for Rhiana, was only supposed to get 30 minutes. Usher was only on stage for 30 minutes...watch his set and you will see that. Green Day filled their 30 minutes and then Billie went on his rant.
SamMacs
Media reports have been very different here in Sweden. There was one disgraceful article in an online paper that had the headline "Mocked Bieber - Gets into rehab" and then it said that Billie Joe abused drugs. But just a moment ago on a humour news show I watch they mentioned Billie Joe and the difference between rehab in the US and here, that as soon as someone mentions rehab here then it means hitting rock bottom because of drugs and how that wasn't the case this time. Later one of the two hosts had eyeliner, black shirt, red tie and he performed Good Riddance and smashed the guitar as the show ended. But I don't really care about what media says, I just hope that Billie Joe gets privacy and gets well.

Heather.
