joeysturkeyhead
Drunk? Yes. Quiet? No. Whatever happens after this, I only hope Billie doesn't go back to be like in 21CB era. I think all three were really boring in that era, they were barely crazy. And I totally love when they say and specially when they do crazy stuff. They were almost like normal men in their late 30s. Omfg, what?! I personally think they were just as funny as allways but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and so are you. I also understand (hope) you didn't mean you don't want him to recover and stop the drinking. What's making me mad is the fact that that's what you think about in such a situation, there are WAY more important things to worry about (still don't get why you think they were boring) and that's not even imprortant. Shit, you're selfish.
localinsomniac
...is this supposed to be funny? Don't read too much into that. Yes, he's probably talking about Billie. But this dude pissed in beer bottles and handed them out to his fans at SXSW a couple years ago. Dude's a clown, nothing more.

blitzkriegdeb
They just talked about this and his meltdown on The Talk on channel 4. They were really good about it, wishing him the best of luck and even joking around that the reason for his meltdown was because Sharon Osbourne (who's on the show) wouldn't "give him any" (in reference to the America's Got Talent thing). Sharon Osbourne went on about how adorable he was trying to smash his guitar and the ladies basically said that they think it's rediculous that a punk rocker is getting heat for yelling at the audience and smashing his guitar up. Not any new news, but it did make me chuckle.
localinsomniac
Who on earth would want to have a bottle of Billie's piss? No no, Fat Mike! It was SXSW 2009, I think? It was a prank, if that's what you want to call it. There's video of him performing the act in the character of Cokie the Clown. It's gotta be on YouTube somewhere... Gwen Stacy
They all need a few weeks to circle the wagons, take care of each other, get healthy, and get back up on their feet again. That means getting out of the public eye for a bit. The best we all can do to help is send them our thoughts and wishes, and suppress our natural urge to sling around the internet speculation that's based on nothing but bullshit. As more (and presumably accurate) information is ready to be made public, the band and their families will let us know. Can I like this more than once? November's Storms
The one thing I can't shake is how the kids are coping with this. Hopefully this recent news hasn't hit them too hard, and even more importantly, hopefully they haven't been victims of Billie's problem. I imagine Adie is a strong woman who can handle herself well in tough times, Mike and Tré have been there through thick and thin, and in comparison to the family, our worries don't matter a whole lot. I just hope they're okay.
lucatotti
It's something he overcame and is now stronger for. But now I see that those demons are still there ... Exactly one of my first thoughts. Especially because I thought he has a great balance with a well "managed" familiy and all that stuff. I also makes me sad that he seems to be a looser for a person which isnt a fan and is just a newsreader. Like drug addict = cant handle his life. princhess
I haven't posted on here for ages, but I just have to get it out... There's one thing that I really don't understand: WHY did they post it? I mean if he has a problem, they could have just talked him into getting help WITHOUT announcing it to the whole world! I really don't think that all the speculations about his health and his mental state do him any good in this sitaution! I can only speak for myself, but I really did not see that coming. And I take from a lot of posts I have read that most of you were also taken by surprise. Therefore, it would have been pretty easy to make up some excuse as a cover-up and give him enough time he needs to recover, without anyone knowing about it. I also feel like it was not really anyone's right to just say that he's seeking help (because I'm sure the statement didn't come directly from him), but it should have been his decission if he wants to let people know about it or not. Also considering the release of Uno!, the announcement wasn't a smart move in my opinion. No one is talking about the new album now, the news are just filled with his "drug addiction" (because that's what the media is making out of the statement). I really just don't understand it, but I whish Billie and the whole band the best!

DannyDirnt
You've got to be kidding me, they were not boring during the 21st CB era! Their shows and interviews were as fun and entertaining then as they've ever been. With or without alcohol or drugs they're entertaining, they're a great band and amusing people because of who they are not because of what substances they take. That's a pretty selfish attitude to have, as if you being entertained is more important than their health. But the fact is it isn't being under the influence that makes them fun and "crazy" anyway so it's really a silly thing to be worried about. After the second post with this content, I guess I just didn't get to make my thoughts clear. I wasn't implying drugs, alcohol, etc. They were healthy in AI era and they were still pretty damn funny. I didn't meant at all that I didn't want him to recover or that I want them to drink or do drugs. I only want them to not be that serious, like they were being now before allt his happened. 21CB gives me a very serious and boring vibe in general, except for the tour. .Holly
Had some time to digest all of this and mull it over after watching the performance. He certainly looked and sounded drunk - slurring his words, singing out of tune with the odd stumble when stepping up onto the box or running along the stage. However, there's no way I would call his performance a "meltdown", what a load of bullshit. A drunken "outburst" would be far more accurate. It seemed that he was getting really pissed off with the shit crowd (don't think I have ever seen a worse crowd, they may have well have played to an empty room with the exception of a handful of Green Day fans.) and the festival and this goaded him into his little outburst. Wouldn't any band be pissed off if they turned up to a festival hoping to rock the place out and the biggest reaction from the crowd was from "bring Usher back on". imo he was drunk, and the shit crowd just made him go a little OTT. Hardly a "meltdown" by anyone's standards. Maybe there is an underlying problem, whether from substance abuse/addiction and/or personal difficulties and this was the result we saw, but everything is purely speculation as we really don't have any hard facts. Clearly something has caused Billie to seek help, but we have no idea what. Treatment for substance abuse doesn't have to mean rehab, it could just mean taking a break and picking yourself back up after burning out. Adies tweets seem more to suggest the latter. My treatment for substance abuse is usually a couple of paracetamols and a bacon sarnie. Isn't the jump from treatment for substance abuse to "rehab" and "addiction" a rather large one when we don't actually know what's happening? Whatever the underlying problem, I hope he takes the time to sort himself out and receive whatever support he needs. Another thing I noticed was that the GD.com announcement was extremely impersonal. There's something about it not quite right. I'm taking everything with a pinch of salt until we get an update from the band or Adie. Somebody mentioned that they might have been made to make that announcement (not sure by who though, or even if this is possible...). Regardless of what is going on, I'm sending Billie my love and keeping him in my thoughts. I'm sure the fanbase staying strong and offering him support will help with his recovery. P.S. If I'm lucky enough to meet someone putting out that this is a faked publicity stunt, I'm going to punch them in the face.
Metanoia
My mind is kind of seperated about the whole thing. On the one hand it shocks me and I would really not have expected something like this to come up. And I am still convinced that whatever he did take was nothing too harmful. Y'know maybe "just" weed was involved or tablets or something. I can't really imagine him to do something worse. And even if he did, no one shoud judge him for doing that. He's just human. Yes he is a role model and yes he lives a public life, but that doesn't mean he'd never do something wrong. On the other hand, when I saw his video where he freaked out at iheart...he seemed so different, so enraged...even too enraged for Billie. I had that thought that he maybe did take something at that point. That worried me...it still does somehow. I hope his family is alright at least considering the circumstances. I really hope things will be fine for him.

November's Storms
They had to cancel shows, interviews etc because of this problem, and legally and just to be decent they would have to give a valid reason. No more valid reason than the truth. They didn't really go into any great detail, so it wasn't like they were embarrassing Billie. Plus, I'd like to think the 3 guys would want to be straight with their fans instead of lying and covering up.
