jorge.saintgd
IMPORTANT.. for any of those who have doubts what the "substanes" are I can practically assure you that its alcohol.. Not just me guessing, on Twitter @BonjoviESP has a picture with Billie Joe who has a bottle of beer in his hand. This dosent mean drugs had nothing to do with it (I personally think not) but its a big clue i guess?
CzechIdiot
Billie Joe is the king, I think it wasn´t any bad, what he did He is a rockstar, and that is what they do. Get well soon Billie!
Elena
wow, my friend Jenny (bassist of my band and huge Green Day fan, but not on this site) just wrote something for Billie she wrote this in chat: "Scream - like a hurricane so loud Fly - like a hawk upon the sky Fight - like a tiger without doubts Cry - but don't give up your fight!" Get well Billie!!
Schlappy
Billie Joe is the king, I think it wasn´t any bad, what he did He is a rockstar, and that is what they do. I think its because we idolize him so much we refuse the accept he has flaws and make excuses for him. It's better to take a step back and try to understand from a different perspective. blitzkriegdeb
Here's something I've been wondering: do you think if the meltdown didn't happen then this wouldn't be as blown up as it is? Obviously it would still make the news, but I feel like because this happened right after the meltdown (which was still fresh on the news) it's getting blown up even more. On one hand it's obviously weird to see Billie like that but on the other hand maybe that was his "breaking point" so to say.
Celsius
I don't care about the drugs/alcohol... Breaking a $8000 guitar when most of his fans wish they could have such an instrument is however very sad imo
Hermione
Mods, I wanted to talk about the iHeart performance including "the rant" and not anything related to the substance abuse statement from the band. I think you should re-open the iHeart thread in the 2012 tour section. We discusssed BJA's "Steve Jobs" rant at the South America show. I think there are conversations to be had outside the realm of substance abuse and more about the band's stage performances but you seem to be shutting everything down and directing folks here. I dont want to talk about substance abuse, I want to talk about the performance and stage rant. Reconsider? Thanks, Abbey We discussed your suggestion and have decided to re-open the iHeart thread in the tour section . Everyone please keep any discussion of anything relating to the substance abuse statement here and not there, otherwise it'll have to be closed again. But if you want to talk about the rest of the iHeart show feel free to go there and do so.

yenom2003
I don't care about the drugs/alcohol... Breaking a $8000 guitar when most of his fans wish they could have such an instrument is however very sad imo He didn't break an $8000 guitar. He broke one of his signature guitars that anyone can go buy at a guitar store for $1200. Given the fact that it is his signature guitar he most likely got it for free and will most likely have another one whenever they play again. I think everyone needs to stop thinking about the rant as something Billie did and think that is was awesome and cool and nothing wrong with it. I would bet that if lets say Justin Beiber or even Bon Jovi did the exact same thing you all would be saying how stupid and unprofessional it was. everyone is blinded by the fact that it was indeed Green Day and want to justify reasons that it was ok (which it was not). The excuse you are making (yes an EXCUSE) of Usher going over his time is just that, an excuse, he only played for 30 mins just as everyone else did. How many of you actually watched the entire show instead of just turning on the stream at Green Days "time" and assumed that since Usher was still on he must've gone over? No one knows for sure how long the set was supposed to be because Iheart only put the start times of the artists and everyone assumed that meant the entire gap was for Green Day. I am happy the Billie (or whoever convinced him) to get help now instead of waiting until it went too far.

November's Storms
For anyone who knows Irish radio, Billie's situation was on the Radio Nova the first piece on the rock report. It's not really a slow time in media/music terms, so it shows how big this has become. To be fair, neither the presenter or the guy from Hot Press reporting on the situation were too judgemental or biased either way, and they signed off by wishing him their best which got me just a bit. joeysturkeyhead
People allways talk about how billie wasn't that drunk. I can say, he's been drunker, but that doesn't mean it's a publicity stunt. It's not like that was the only reason he needs treatment, the fact is that he has drinking (drug, I don't know) problems and that's why. Also, could people just stop asking Mike what it is on his instagram, leave the guy alone. Don't keep speculating anymore untill you get any news about it. Also don't listen to medias saying it's drugs, we don't know that yet, medias often mix stuff up.

I am happy the Billie (or whoever convinced him) to get help now instead of waiting until it went too far. well, i gotta say i'm kinda biased, but not on Green Day but on rock music in general...idk i never care when a rock star does something like this, cos i just think he's probably had his reasons or maybe "Oh god, how bad...this was just a little rant, nothing too important", but when a pop star does that i always think "Oh god what an arrogant bitch/asshole, he/she should go and fuck himself/herself" ...anyways, i somehow doubt Billie would just invent the thing that it got cut short, but since i really didn't watch the stream, i can't judge about that and i don't wanna do that now, i just really, really hope Billie gets well soon and everything will be alright... (and no matter why he did it, the rant was awesome, the performance not so much, but the rant was! )

Seanz25
I'm sick of all the negative comments I have read from the press etc. At the end of the day he was out of it. It's not the first time it's happened nor is Billie the first person to get completley wasted and make a bit of a fool of himself. Secondly to call him 'a stupid teenager' etc as so many people have is laughable. If anything he made a statment, a bold statment, one that I myself and thousands if not millions of others have been crying for someone to shout out about the current state of the music industry. Smashing the guitar was a waste of money? Actualy would this have gotten so much coverage had he not made such a move? I beg to differ. Yeah he may have been high or drunk but God Dam did he express what was on so many people's mind. Best of luck to him hopefully he recovers soon. PS: I still believe iHeartRadio cut the Green Day set by sometime.

lizziebix
A friend at work asked if I was okayabout this, this morning. What does this have to do with me? It's Billie Joe that's going through the rehab/treatment. It's Billie Joe that has/had demons he needs to work on getting rid of/accepting. It's BIllie Joe that has to learn that whatever it was he was doing isn't working for himself, his family, his bandmates, his life. So WTF does this have to do with me? DannyDirnt
If you just watch his rant he doesn't look that drunk he just looks angry. If you watch their actual performance though he did look quiet drunk. Drunk? Yes. Quiet? No. Whatever happens after this, I only hope Billie doesn't go back to be like in 21CB era. I think all three were really boring in that era, they were barely crazy. And I totally love when they say and specially when they do crazy stuff. They were almost like normal men in their late 30s.
