Ratchet
At the moment on Instagram there is three hashtags shouting out to Billie Joe. #staystrongbilliejoe #supportforbeej #gdfamily I think they can be used for twitter too Channel 9 in Australia just previewed a story about this for the news, it'll be on in a minute. kate_ochoxx
The San Francisco news station just had the story on. Saying the Fillmore show is cancelled and other appearances postponed. They called it a meltdown and is entering rehab for subsatnce abuse. No other details. Sad to hear and wishing Billie Joe the best. Hoping he gets the help he needs. dang, but he does need some time off and some help. hopefully this is a big help!

Ritz
Well cancelling shows is sad. Guess they are out of the scene at least for a week.

desertrose
it's on Friday... also Wavves just tweeted that they are opening for Green Day at the Fillmore on Friday. So unless he doesn't know anything, the show might still be happening. Live105 tweeted the show is postponed LIVE 105 @LIVE105 .@GreenDay's @BJAOfficial to seek substance abuse treatment. Friday's #GrandeGreenDay show postponed. http://cbsloc.al/SN25Zd
Burnout98
Wow, this was such a shock. I know he had a drinking problem around the Warning era but I'd assumed he'd stopped doing any drugs. I don't know what to say. Has it been on yet? I just flipped over. Yeah it was just on, nothing new, just all the facts that we know already. Emilie
Yeah it was just on, nothing new, just all the facts that we know already. It'll probably be on again on the 4:30 news anyway.

ParadoxAndPlaid
I've noticed his presence in recent promotions and performances being really odd, he just carries himself differently. It's part of what made me so uncomfortable with the new album. I'm happy he's seeking help, although I feel bad that he had to announce it like this, it's such a personal problem. Hoping for the best, glad he has amazing family, friends, band mates and fans. to support him.
Hanner
Live105 tweeted the show is postponed LIVE 105 @LIVE105 .@GreenDay's @BJAOfficial to seek substance abuse treatment. Friday's #GrandeGreenDay show postponed. http://cbsloc.al/SN25Zd yes I've seen that. But they are the only ones saying anything about the show being postponed. You would think and official announcement would be made by Green Day if it was. So right now, we don't really know for sure because of what Wavves tweeted. lizziebix
With a supportive family, a supportive band, and the best fucking fans in the world, Billie has the support to get through anything... We love you, man. We all do.... I guess our conversation about Adie in the iHeart thread takes on new meaning. Hoping with all all the support from his family and friends, and GD fan around the world, he will get the treatment he needs and be better for it. PanicAttack!
This post is so confusing. At first you said we're not sure of what's really going on with him, and then you started acting like you're 100% sure that this is a publicity stunt. We don't know anything, but do you, really? Also, you're ashamed of Green Day fans for wishing Billie Joe good luck and saying that it's good he's seeking professional help? Seriously? Your rant doesn't even make sense. Alike this whole rehab thing. I'm angry at all these fans for just eating what the label feeds them. I didn't claim I knew anything for sure, just that it's obvious something's not coherent. Jet Taman
This is the entire concert in one video if anyone wants to watch it (I've seen a few people asking for links) His voice reminds me of when he played at MTV on New Year's Eve in 1998. I remember watching it thinking "Man, he's fucking wasted right now" as he sang "Time of Your Life". As soon as I thought that in my head, Billie stopped mid song and said "I am really fucked up right now". It's strange how Billie has a very distinct "drunk singing voice"... I have to wonder if people are projecting things onto Billie now when they think of his interviews lately. What exactly has been so "different" about him? If anything, they've all seemed so 'together' and excited about the albums. His voice reminds me of when he played at MTV on New Year's Eve in 1998. I thought of the same thing with New Years Eve! I was half expecting/hoping Billie would just announce to the crowd how wasted he was at iHeart, because then everyone would laugh and also understand why he sounded so bad. But I guess if you're that fucked up you don't realize necessarily...
gsebastiani
You can believe it or not, but there's this guy on twitter who is the bass player of the band that opened for Green Day in Venezuela a couple of years ago. He is a public figure there and seems like a pretty decent guy. He posted many pictures of his band hanging out with GD backstage, drinking wine with Tre... Well the point is that he tweeted today after learning of the rehab thing that the keyboard player from Green Day (I assume he is talking about Jason Freese) told him the night of the show that Billie Joe doesn't do heavy drugs, but every once in a while, like once a month, he just "sniff whatever he founds". XxGreenDay409xX
Like he's never been under the influence and lost it at a show before? Jaded in Chicago? Woodstock? This is drunken Green Day awesomeness at its best. The only bad part of the whole thing is that Tre dropped the ball by not wrecking that drumset... sportsfrk214
It just sucks at the timing of it all. This is a time for celebration with a new album coming out, and instead of spending the next week parading around their new masterpiece, the band is going to be silenced during a major time. Obviously Billie's well being trumps all else, and it's quite possible all of this is what caused the problem for him in the first place. It's just sad that of all times, this had to happen right as an album is about to be released. Hopefully he's feeling better soon and can get back to showing the world what Green Day is all about

spark in the night
I have to wonder if people are projecting things onto Billie now when they think of his interviews lately. What exactly has been so "different" about him? If anything, they've all seemed so 'together' and excited about the albums. I was gonna ask the same thing. If anything, he seemed HAPPY. I remember posting somewhere, that he seems less awkward in interviews. That he is generally happy and excited and wants to talk to interviewers. The only red flag for me was the Vegas show. Actually...the foxboro shows way back when were pretty bad lol He had some crazy antics but I had not noticed anything different until Vegas. Irving Show he seemed so happy. VMA's performance was perfect.
