Is there a difference between "seeking treatment" and "going to rehab"?

There could be, but there aren't enough details for us to know. This entire thread is basically just speculation, and the only facts we have are that he is going to get "treatment" for "substance abuse."

No.

Someone has the same username as you posting on digitalspy, not odd but was just wondering if it was you

Everyone should clam down. All we know is he's not feeling well. Hopefully, it's nothing too serious and he just needs rest :)

Green Day are pulling off all the publciity stunts this weekend. I see it as no coinsidence that they are all over the press all of a sudden and they have a new album out on Monday.

I know that this post was made a number of pages back, but it's one that I felt inclined to comment on. I believe it was John that said you have a right to your opinion. Very true. At the same time, expect some backlash for it. If you are genuinely under the impression that this news, the festival, and anything else off with Billie lately is some kind of publicity stunt for the new album, I genuinely believe you're downright silly.

I don't know what band you've been paying attention to all this time, but I'm fairly positive that GD wouldn't pull some 'publicity stunt' regarding an issue as serious as substance abuse. Perhaps the festival was the tipping point, as others have pointed out. I'm not going to be someone who throws out a bunch of possibilities about what goes on in his personal life. We don't know what happens.

I don't care about events being cancelled. I don't give a single fuck in regards to what the media says. The media will comment on artists that go to rehab for substance abuse. They'll write about actresses seeking help for eating disorders. They'll always talk about something. It doesn't matter. The only thing I'm concerned about is that Billie is able to successfully go through his treatment.

Think before you make posts like this. It's not that difficult.

Love, lots of warm fuzzies, hope, strength, and peace to BJ, his family, and his bandmates. He'll bounce back from this, folks, and that's all that matters.

And another reason why it's silly: this actually can HURT the sales of their new album rather than help. They're postponing upcoming promotional appearances, which is BAD for sales. If this were a publicity stunt, it would surely be a really stupid one with no real logic, and I doubt that's the case.

Of course Billie's health should be a #1 priority and I'd rather Green Day go silent for a year than have him destroy himself, but I do wonder if Mike and Tre will keep going with public appearances in the next few weeks, seeing as it is a critical time for the album and there's no reason for them not to be out promoting Uno. Obviously they can't perform (Dominated Love Slave publicity tour, anyone?), but they can still maybe keep working in some way. Again, not that I really care anymore about the album's promotion at this point, just thinking it would be nice if that continued in some way. Then again I'm sure it's best for Billie's privacy if none of the band is talking to the media right now.

I'm glad he's seeking out help, otherwise he'd probably turn into another washed out celebrity.

I adore that man and hope he gets well soon and has a speedy recovery.

I really hope that his rehab is successful and that he gets the help he needs and comes out of all this better for it...when i saw this i was so worried...and still am :(. If anything happened to him, or if he died, I would be heartbroken :(. Lets all keep him and the Armstrong family in our prayers. Get well soon Billie...

Somehow, since I first heard of the trilogy thing, I started to have the feeling that this might be the last era of Green Day. Like, there's nothing left for them to do, no challenges (talking about the music). This kind of makes that sensation to take more roots in my brain.

I hope I'm wrong...

This is your second post like this, would you PLEASE stop with this. When/if we hear something more from the band then feel free to make a statement, but please stop with your overdramatic speculation.

What a great tribute to Amy Whinehouse, They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"

Is it bad that I laughed at it?

My grandmother just called my mom to inform her of what a terrible person Billie is.
