Breakdown_EE
To put it short: Remember GD's performance in Las Vegas on the iHeart Radio fest? Yep, so Billie took too much alcohol/drugs (we don't know which (or maybe even both)) and now he's in the hospital! just to clear it: it is not like he is in hospital because of an overdose. He propably went to an Reha Center (ore something like that) because he has an addiction. The iHeart Festival meltdown maybe was the trigger point for him (or who wever decided him to make that reha) to say that he has a problem that should be fixed. Thas how i see it
spark in the night
I still don't understand... Was it because of the freakout? Was it the band or 80? So much confusion. It might have been building up over time and Vegas was the last straw..the tipping point. And they won't play till he finished rehab? Or they will play anyway? they will have a Billie Joe hologram. pucky
Somehow, since I first heard of the trilogy thing, I started to have the feeling that this might be the last era of Green Day. Like, there's nothing left for them to do, no challenges (talking about the music). This kind of makes that sensation to take more roots in my brain. I hope I'm wrong... PaulS
Ahhhh man I wish I can just jump to Dos! release date because this is gonna get depressing. It's gonna be a week or two or maybe longer of people saying "I just knew something was wrong with him, I couldn't tell, but I knew something was wrong" .. This. All the retrospective analysis is pointless. You didn't see anything in his eyes at Shepherds Bush. He probably wasn't wasted on meth at whatever show you went to and enjoyed. He's been 'going to the side of the stage for something' for the last 20 years, just like every other musician who ever lived. Not every song he wrote about booze was a plea for help. He didn't need to be a drug addict to empathise with Amy Winehouse. No, the trilogy probably isn't a concept based on his substance abuse problems. Or is it? Dun, dun, duuuunnnnn. farley drexel hatcher
And they won't play till he finished rehab? Or they will play anyway? He won't doing anything while he's in there, kind of the point of it.
Homero
Ok, I'm going to stop reading this thread, I got tired of people speculating of what's going to happen. When it's stuff like this, I think you just have to support them and hope the best for them. I think sometimes we overthink too much about every thing that happens to Green Day. Anyway, I hope he gets the help that he needs!
Chris_Kr93s
I really hope its nothing toooooo serious and BJ get well soon! I hope we get a vid of Mike and Tre soon.. or maybe even BJ! this is just killing me
MidnightMuffin
At least he is getting the help he needs. The speculation and media-shitstorm is just something that is bound to happen with a band that has hit the caliber Green Day has. Does it really matter if its drugs or alcohol? He has a problem. He needs help and he is getting it. I am hoping for some epic songwriting to come out of this also. We love you, Billie. #armSTRONG

karma1215
I hope this doesn't mean the cancellation of any dates. As much as I don't want that to happen... I have to be a little considerate of his ability to seek the treatment he needs to get better....there's a reason now why he was saying at concerts : "We're all alive....he kept saying it over and over again.... maybe this was his call for help we just never know. greendaygal89
Whether it be drink or drugs, a misuse of either isn't good. Smoothed Out
I have to say, I genuinely don't know what to say. I guess, I just wish Billie all the best. And I'm thinking of not just him but his family, Adie and the kids.
DannyDirnt
Getting drunken a few times in the year is ok. Btw, drinking alcohol can be fun But it's no fun, when you drink it too often. And drugs are  Yeah, I agree here
Nimrod2309
I feel so sad right now  . Slightly embarrassed that I was joking around with hubby last night that Billie was going to be having a intervention any day now. I just hope he is going to be ok. Try to take solstice in this: making music is essentially ALL these guys know to do. It's what they grew up with, what they're lives are based around. I have the feeling that they won't go out that easily. They'll (hopefully) be that band that sticks around long into their lives. Basically, they wouldn't end Green Day that easily. They aren't the kind of guys who like to sit around and do nothing.
spacesauce
Hope he gets the help he needs. Let's not speculate until more official statements are issued. There's too many questions right now, and obviously, the most important thing is that he's doing the right thing by getting help.

Sarcasm
When Gerard Way (MCR) stopped drinking, the shows became better, then boring. Hope that won't happen to Green day :/

People who are basically saying I hope it's alcohol rather than drugs are just pathetic and need to live in the real word This. They are both extremely serious, and need to be dealt with as soon as possible. And like I said before, alcoholism usually snowballs into other things, so I really don't see how one is any better than the other. They both are bad for different reasons, but at the end of the day they both can lead to the same horrible things.
