SuzD Posted September 20, 2012 Share Posted September 20, 2012 I wouldn't call it "lyric of the album" but my favorite lyric from Stay The Night is "so won't you stay and count the circles 'round my eyes/and we can watch the stars until the sun begins to rise." I'd love to know if Billie wrote that about Adie -- usually you get super-potent, gushy-romantic, spine-tingling lyrics like that only in the songs he writes about her. I adore that line too, but i'm an old romantic. I also love that there's no reply to Billie's 'hey oh' in Stay the Night. I think it adds something to the bittersweet poignancy of the song. Maybe just wasn't in the mood for it then, it was too jaunty and i was well tired, lol. And maybe a little bland. But that might change through time. The Chuck Berry flair they captured in the opening guitar riff of Angel Blue hooked me at the first listen. Hope it grows on you over time, I think it's one of the best songs on the album so far.
