Milo Goes To Pasalacqua
The harmonies on this album Especially in Stay The Night by Mike, if it is anything like their performance at Reading. It's not working for me on facebook, is there anywhere i can listen to the studio version of Stay The Night? I'm dying to know now if they kept in that beautiful harmony by Mike. Try, we have a limit on them Why the hate for Angel Blue? It's not my favorite, but it's not like I skip it IDK, i was listening to it last night. Maybe just wasn't in the mood for it then, it was too jaunty and i was well tired, lol. And maybe a little bland. But that might change through time. I remember when i first heard !Viva La Gloria! i thought it was one of the worst songs i ever heard. A few listens later and i thought it was a beautiful song. Now it's one of my faves of 21CB. If every performance of Stay the Night is as good as it was on Reading, I'm gonna faint. For those who haven't seen that performance, for some strange reason, it's in HD on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSTldOkyPPI
BigNate
I think the album has a perfect mix of some old school green day, some newer "poppier" green day and some other sounds straight outta left field! I will be honest I listened to the whole thing and Nuclear Family and Stay The Night just keep playing on repeat for me. I cannot get Stay the Night outta my head! not that thats a bad thing either. The guitar sound is incendiary, harmonies are catchy and infectious. The lyrics while they wont change the world, I can totally picture thousands singing along at the next concert I attend. This album had my hopes up pretty high and they were not let down, the only down spot I think is Troublemaker, maybe because of the lyrics, but it will probably grow on me! For those who haven't seen that performance, for some strange reason, it's in HD on youtube. Fucking hell. Someone explain to me why Stay the Night should not close every Green Day set for the rest of time. It's sufficiently massive and epic, it has an upbeat, "leave em' wanting more" quality to it, and even the lyrics, "Stay the night," "I don't wanna say goodbye"; tell me again how those aren't the perfect things to say before taking an encore break? Even how that's not the perfect set of lyrics to end the entire show with? Fuck Good Riddance; it's had it's time. Play that fucker mid-set and let it slowly fade away, and let Stay the Night become the new closing song. Also, every time I see Billie Joe, and especially in that video, it's a chilling reminder that he has an uncanny ability to control a crowd, the likes of which I haven't seen since Freddie Mercury. Good Riddance would be perfect in the end of first set, before the encore.

Good point, this shouldn't be a mid set song, I'm thinking more like a first encore, like American Idiot sometimes was, but change it with this, or combine it with a dookie song to really get the energy level to max before closing the show with youknowwhat. You can't do that. Everyone would leave! It's a green day fan evolution thing. You hear the final note and automatically scan the ground for dirty collectibles then walk away. It wouldn't work. 21stcenturyidiot
I have so many 'feels' (to use the internet lingo) about this album Songs like Stay the Night, Sweet 16 and Rusty James(Still prefer calling it LGIT) have so much emotion(and RJ has that bittersweet anger) in them, sweet 16 made me tear up in the same way redundant does, Just a good old fashioned love song, like the old green day, 2000 lightyears, 1000hrs Sweet 16 has some of the most heart wrenching, honest lyrics since Redundant IMO. He loves this woman so much, and I can tell. Oh, and DAT FALSETTO Nuclear Family,Carpe Diem and Loss of Control are pumpass and rawkus as fuck. Angel Blue and LYG are just good old green day songs The others, whilst good, aren't as stand out Troublemaker and Fell for you are my least favourite on the album, and Oh Love and Kill the DJ somehow feel out of place All said and done. The boys have done good.

Guest
Fuck, you gave me best laughs tonight!! But yeah, you're right. I didn't think about that.... Yeah, I only thought of it after remembering the story of a friend who went to a KISS show a few years back. For whatever reason, they played Rock and Roll All Nite as a set closer instead of in the encores. The way he tells it, half the arena thought the show was over and left before the encore. I can easily see the same thing happening if Green Day closed the set with Good Riddance. You'd have to play something right after it to keep everyone from going home. Or skip it. Just sayin'. I know it'd never happen, because legions of 13-year-old girls and burned-out hipsters would stage an uprising if Green Day left the stage without playing it. Still, though, Stay the Night should not be an early or mid-set song. The energy, epicness and lyrics lend themselves too well to a closer. DAMMIT, GREEN DAY, WHY DID YOU NOT RELEASE THIS AS A SINGLE?!

November's Storms
well in my opinion, blink always did shit music and green day does with uno. its funny you claim you can divide music into shit and gold without giving any reasons for it. same counts for me, but i gave some reasons, if you do a little research. Oh hello stranger. I don't claim to speak the truth, I am stating my opinion. I can't research all the facts and figures as to why I like some music and why I dislike some. If every single post I made on GDC had to be well researched and dissected, I would be here for a while, and quite frankly the forum would become bland and shit. I think it's funnier that you want to start shit with someone you don't know, and have had no prior disagreement with. Especially cos I was dissing Blink 182, and we're on the same side of that argument it seems. Keep your negative vibes away from me buddy. Fucking hell. Someone explain to me why Stay the Night should not close every Green Day set for the rest of time. Play that fucker mid-set and let it slowly fade away, and let Stay the Night become the new closing song. I've been beaten to it now but I'd love to see it end the first encore at least. I enjoy the bittersweet ending that comes with GR and the solo acoustic guitar buzz. For me, after hours of big, loud rock music, I'm exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. The solo encore creates this almost fantasy like atmosphere that I don't wanna miss out on!

That Dude
They should have edited in a live 'Heyyyyy Hoooooo' from a huge crowd. Like Frank Turner did in I Still Believe. You are not alone! I was sort of hoping the solo would have went on like in a live performance and the heyyyy hoooo would go back and forth. That would be cool to hear on a studio track. But at least we got one heyyyyyyyy hooooooo. Awesome!
