November's Storms
Guys? Am i the only one who finds Carpe Diem kind of boring and Stay The Night is not "that epic" like everyone says? Just an average song Stay the Night is awesome for me, cos I have a personal attachment to it. It's a good song, but I'd rank it in the middle of my fav songs on the album. I'm sorry but that's the stupidest thing I've ever read.... The Pistols WERE a punk band. I can see why that argument can be made, but let's not make it here. So I'm listening to Stay the Night at the moment. I know this is a stretch, but Billie seems to be singing and writing a lot about a girl that got away. Amanda / She / Whatshername. What if this Amanda actually tried to communicate with him after hearing these new songs? I hope this doesn't happen!!!!!! Who else thinks that Billie keeps writing about his break-up with Amanda because it was his only proper, complete relationship? As in, his relationship with Adrienne is continuous, but this experience had a beginning, middle and an end, and all the feelings that came with it. I mean 90% of his songs he quite obviously owes to Adie, but there are more than a few songs with reference to her, like in Sweet Sixteen. Everyone has the one that got away. I have to imagine happily married people do too, just as a sentimental flashback to when they were young and carefree. I'm only 22 and I have someone that I associate with those types of songs. Troublemaker could have been written by The Network. Like it. I do like Troublemaker. I don't love it, but nor do I get the hype about disliking it. The guitar solo sounds like Tom Morello back in the Rage Against the Machine days! Overall, I'm very happy with this album. I'm hoping some decent radio play of the good songs (i.e. not Oh Love, and possibly not Kill the DJ) so that non-hardcore fans that felt apathetic about 21stCB can get back to the Green Day we all fell in love with Favourite song? Let Yourself Go. I love the screams, especially that background one before the 2nd (?) chorus!
Stuart&TheAve
Generally pretty happy with this one! Plenty I like (KTDJ, Troublemaker, Stay the Night, Nuclear Family), some I'm not so fussed on (Angel Blue/Rusty James - Growers perhaps?). Fell For You disappointed me a little bit. Loved the Radio 1 preview but the full thing is lacking a little...Hmmm! Either way I'm gonna buy the CD and to celebrate I've changed my picture. Original, huh? Now roll on ¡Dos! and ¡Tre! already

November's Storms
The opening line in Stay the Night "I ain't got much time so I'll get to the point" really sums up the entire album for me.
*withoutadoubt*
I'm seeing lots of people here that didn't like troublemaker ... Is it just me that found that solo awesome ? I think the whole song is great - just ruined it for myself by playing stupid Angry Birds...I keep seeing little pissed off birds flying in the air, lol. Don't kill me for this- the thing I'm most excited about re: the trilogy is the fact that it's (probably) not going to resemble American Idiot or Breakdown in any way, shape or form. Everything I've read so far indicates that the band didn't have any particular direction they wanted to take the music; they just wanted to get in a room, write songs and have a good time. All of my favorite Green Day albums have that feeling in the songs and lyrics. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the last two records for what they are. But they needed to pull away from the rock opera/concept stuff and get back to the dirty basics. I'm fully expecting a change of pants after the first listen to ¡UNO!. Fully. I don't know about anyone else, but I was ready for a theme change myself. (And I LOVED both those albums!) I keep saying this but the whole aura around these albums is just so much 'lighter' and fun and just good ol' rock and roll. Seeing them play the other night clinched that feeling for me, too, and I think that was part of why everyone said it was such an awesome show. (More than the usual 'awesome' lol.) Did you read the article from Guitar World? Billie Joe mentions something about breaking away from the rock-opera stuff. It was a good read. There's collective pants changing all over the world today!
Micky
But Let Yourself Go kinda gets repetitive, I'm not hating on the song, I love it but people who aren't Green Day fans are soooo critical to every little thing I'm sure there will always be critics whether the song is repetitive or the best song ever written in the whole universe in the history of ever
karma1215
Ha... I listened to the acoustic version of Rusty James so beautiful
BJWolf
I've listened to most of the album but am keeping Angel Blue, Loss of Control, Sweet 16, and Troublemaker fresh because I hafta at least have something to look forward to when I buy the album. I hafta say, Stay the Night and Rusty James are two all time great Green Day tracks. They nailed those songs and I really think they'll be considered some of their best stuff. Also, the rest of the album is SOOOOOOO good i cant even describe what I'm feeling. This is the album I've wanted for so long and everything has been perfect so far. I guess I'll find out soon enough, but i was wondering what the split is over Loss of Control. Some people say its the best song on the album, others cant stand it and it seems like people are divided 50/50. Can anybody explain what it sounds like and why theres so much dissagreement? Same with Angel Blue...
Trotsky
Loss of Control isn't terrible, to me it just sounds like "We'll try to do the Dookie sound even though we really aren't good at it anymore."
haveUgotAny
Dude seriously i just listened to the album for the third time and Uno! is the one i was least looking forward to and it turned out to be great, if Dos! and Tre! keep this quality i think Green Day is definetely looking at another Grammy for this trilogy
Homero
Im digging troublemaker now, and I really like it! Its really fun to me. Edit: Oh and there´s not slow songs! I guess we can count Oh Love.

Guest
It seems like I'm listening to Stay the Night, Carpe Diem and Let Yourself Go more than any other songs on the album. Could be that they're bunched together, but it is, I think, as great a set of three in a row that GD has had since AI, JOS and Holiday were lined up. Also, the more I hear Stay the Night, the more I like the idea of it closing the entire show. Play Good Riddance at some other point, maybe the electric version right before STN in an encore. It just seems to fit at the end of a show. Oh Love isn't horrible its a prelude to the second album... it also sounds amazing live. Please use the default text size. No one can read that. I think they'll get for the album the song was released in. It doesn't make much sense giving the prize to the 'uno, dos, tré' trilogy since they're three different albums (even though they're linked). Bastard of 1967
IF this grammy thing (and other prices) will happen...how will it be like? will they get a grammy for the whole trilogy? or just for a special single album that is nominated (uno for example) ? I'm not sure how the Recording Academy is going to treat the releases (as one album vs. as three separate albums). For the purposes of Green Day's contract, they and WMG agreed to treat the entire three-album series as a single "album" unit, but I suspect that won't be dispositive as far as the Grammys and other awards go. haveUgotAny
Yeah i don´t know either but in this case i think they will consider the whole trilogy as by the time of the Grammys all three will already be out There's no reason to consider them separately, i think it will be like RHCP's Stadium Arcadium

From this Billboard article http://www.greendayauthority.com/articles/163/5/ UNO will be eligible for the 2013 Grammy awards. DOS and TRE will be eligibe for the 2014 Grammys. It'll be treated as 3 different albums
