captain peroxide
Favorite songs so far are the first 4, plus Rusty James. Least favorite are Fell For You, Loss of Control and Troublemaker. Right now, they seem like filler tracks, but I'll probably warm up to them with more listens.

WhiteTim
This is a live in the studio sound than a stacked abd polished like all their other albums
!
Listening to it nice and loud definitely helps though I agree with that. When I first listened to it with my small earphones, I really didn't enjoy it. But when I had on my headphones, I liked it a lot more.
November's Storms
I'm very surprised by the album, in a good way! Considering my first tastes of iUno! were Oh Love and Kill the DJ, I was expecting an album full of the guys experimenting with new sounds, thankfully that's not the case. It may be because I had lower expectations for this one, but I love iUno! It's everything I love about Green Day. A much faster, punkier album than I was expecting, especially the first half of it. Having heard Stay the Night back at a sound check in Marlay Park, Dublin two years ago, it's nice to hear that song in it's ideal state. My favourite song so far has to be Let Yourself Go, it's just awesome. GOTTA LET IT GO! GOTTA LET IT GO!!! The only song I really haven't warmed to yet is Oh Love, Green Day are really doing wonders with their single choices again! Another thing I loved was the sound production. I'm no expert in that field but Billie's voice sounded natural, the drums weren't drowned out by other instruments, and you can hear the bass lines! I haven't revelled in Green Day basslines since pre-American Idiot days.

Guest MadeInRatCity
sweet 16 - what is that thing in between, didn't like it. Lyrics is gr8 but it sounds awful.
November's Storms
I think it's a bit like Dookie in terms of album tracks. The big hits and best songs are in the first half of the album, and the last few songs are more filler-ish. Though give me FOD over Oh Love any day! Vanilla Shake
My only complaint really is that Fell for You seems a bit too short. I would've loved a guitar solo or something. Other than that, this is a fantastic album that can easily stand alone amongst the rest of Green Day's catalogue and it's such a breath of fresh air after 21st Century Breakdown (which I love by the way - well I love all their albums lol). But the best part is knowing that there's a Part 2 AND a Part 3 to look forward to once you hear that final note in Oh Love. So much more is coming, and I am excited as fuck. Bring on ¡Dos! Chuckk
Guys? Am i the only one who finds Carpe Diem kind of boring and Stay The Night is not "that epic" like everyone says? Just an average song
Drop Dead Hideous
Listen to it dude. It really is a great album and you won't regret it, trust me. I think he's waiting for the album release. Guys? Am i the only one who finds Carpe Diem kind of boring It has a good intro but in the verses it loses some energy. solongfromthestars
Guys? Am i the only one who finds Carpe Diem kind of boring and Stay The Night is not "that epic" like everyone says? Just an average song I'm not as crazy about Stay the Night as everyone else is. It's good, I do love it, but the live energy just doesn't translate into the studio version. I don't think it's totally overwhelming or anything like that.
cj_unoxx
I wanna say that I love Angel Blue but I thought that the guitar riffs sounded so familiar...and I started thinking and figured out that the song it sounds like is "Super Starship" by The Boo which makes sense cuz its their family band but still :/ I love Angel Blue though

Just an average song I quite like Carpe Diem but I agree about Stay The Night. Might be one of those songs that's better live. Really like Loss of Control and Angel Blue at the moment, as well as Nuclear Family.
21stcenturyidiot
Just read through the last few pages and have some things to say (because I can't help myself) - Green Day were NEVER punk, or punk rock. The guys themselves are punks through and through, but the music they make has always been poppy. It's what separated them from the other bands at Gilman when the first started out, and why they've gotten so successful. Pop sells, punk doesn't. Saw this one post complaining about pop music for the last 20 years too... I mean, seriously? You've not heard ONE good thing in the last 20 effing years? Pop is still amazing, you just have to delve as deeply as you do in rock to find your favourites. Invest some time in the genre and there are artists to appreciate. Nobody quote me with a video of Nicki Minaj because that's not what I'm talking about! Anyway, up to Carpe Diem this morning, and the album is still as good as my first impression of it. Shows that it's not a fader after a while. Green Day WERE Punk/Rock they've always been the poppier side but listen to Kerplunk, that's punk. Dookie was poppier punk but still punk

DTH
after a few listens: i just hate the new record. its like a simple plan record. hope they recorded dos and tre differently... it got nothing of the green day vibe, theres a lack of energy and it feels just cheap. sniffingchimp
No they weren't, that's as pop as anything. Songs about love and growing up. Cat - you have to be one of the most sensible posters I've seen on this board. Kudos. Enjoying the record but it's definitely lacking depth for me so far. I mean, it's back to simple 3 minute catchy bursts but is missing meatiness. And they need to stop with novelty tunes, Troublemaker is absolutely awful and should be a B-Side (if even).
