Right as the acoustic intro of BTL ends, it's the same chord progression as Carpe Diem.

Ahh, right. I still don't think they sound that similar, but maybe that is just because I know dick all about music. There's only so many things you can do with a set number of chords I guess.

If they're not the same chords, they're damn close. Close enough that I'm a little disappointed the band used that progression instead of changing up the song.

I don't mind the fact you can hear some resemblance of old songs in new material. It's kind of like a reminder that they're the still the same band...

I agree, but not when the "old song" is from the last album. :P

3 years: now old

For a Kiwane toad, yeah, that's nearing death. In people years, no, not so much. :P

I still like Carpet Diet, I just wish they would've found a different chord progression.

I think Loss Of Control is really awesome!

And like someone in here said, this is only 1/3 of the trilogy!

Also, it happened to me that I listen too much to the other songs and forget about Let Yourself Go, Kill The DJ or even Oh Love, and if you see it as a whole, it´s a fuckin awesome album.

Digging "Nuclear Family". Not blown away, but I do enjoy it.

"Stay The Night" lacks the feeling I got from some of the live shows, but still an amazing song.

"Carpe Diem"... Ambivalent toward it.

"Let Yourself Go"- have a feeling this will be a staple for live shows and probably more enjoyable live than the recording.

"Kill The DJ" - it's growing on me, it's a fun track.

"Fell For You" - excellent song, great hook and I enjoy the lyrics to this song more than most on the album.

"Loss of Control" - I actually really like this song, but it's kinda weak and at any other point in time this would've been a B-side (I always enjoy their B-sides), so if they had've actually scrapped material, this would've been a track. But yes... I really like it, but I don't see it adding anything to the record as a whole.

"Troublemaker" - Absolutely don't like it. Sounds like The Network song. Weakest song on the record.

"Angel Blue" - see "Loss of Control"

"Sweet 16" - I didn't expect this song to be as good as it is, great track.

"Rusty James" - hands down my favorite Green Day song in over a decade. It's been on repeat all-day.

"Oh Love" - Hated it at first, but it's growing on me. Weak single, but alright song. I actually would've opened the album with this and ended on "Rusty James"

It's a hit-or-miss record due to the fact that it's part of a trilogy and the fat wasn't trimmed. That being said... Green Day's weaker efforts are better than most bands' best ones.

Love this album form what I'm hearing! Favourites are Fell for you, Oh Love, Rusty James, Kill the Dj and Stay the night

Oficially in love with Loss of control. The album sounds great, and it makes you wish to have ¡Dos! to play it right after it  I love how they make Stay the night sound as if it was a live song, that heey-oooh in the interlude was awesome

The chorus of Loss of Control is really weak and almost made me cringe. The music's great, but man, some of these lyrics are getting to me. :(

Finally finished the album and I really liked it. The only songs I didn't care for were Fell For You and Loss Of Control. My favorites were Let Yourself Go, Rusty James, Kill The DJ, and Oh Love. I'm one of the few, but I really like Oh Love :P

Oh Love has grown on me. By itself, I hate it. At the end of Uno, though, it just fits and makes sense. Stay the Night or Sweet 16 should have been a single instead of Oh Love.

Downloaded this early afternoon today but I just now got the chance to listen to it front-to-back... I absolutely love pretty much the entire album. My favorites from most to least:

1) Stay the Night

2) Fell For You

3) Rusty James

4) Loss of Control

5) Sweet 16

6) Carpe Diem

7) Nuclear Family

8) Kill the DJ

9) Let Yourself Go

10) Angel Blue

11) Troublemaker

12) Oh Love

I love all of the songs, just some a bit more than others. No real strong dislikes. I've only heard Angel Blue, Troublemaker, Loss of Control, and Rusty James a couple times each so I still need to get used to them. Even if Oh Love is my least favorite in ranking, I still enjoy singing along to it...just saying if I had to order the songs....yeah...

Yeah I think the majority will agree that it's an awkward choice for a single, but I liked it from the start. To me, Let Yourself Go would've been perfect the first single

Is it saying "shoot the fucker down?"

The reviews on here look good for the most part. Still haven't listened to anything. My resolve has stayed strong for the last 12 hours. Hopefully I can make it another 168.

Fuck that's a long time...
