I'll listen to the album now, got back from my 2.5 hour history exam so really need to not look at anything study related.

Lyrics dont have to be EPIC Or super amazing to make an album. The lyrics are simple and great and fit very well

Really, all of the songs except Kill the DJ and Troublemaker are at least ok in my book. That makes it a huge improvement over 21CB.

I still hate the shit out of 21CB...

me too

Me three!!

Can anyone message me a link? I've been searching for this elsewhere online and haven't had any luck.

EDIT: Could say a lot more about it actually. Think Billie is talking to himself when he says "where the fuck is your old gang, man?" I mean, if you switch a couple of words around he's basically calling himself an old man (but that's probably reading too far into it). It's a really original idea, something only Green Day could write about now. :)

It made me think of this immediately. It actually made me quite upset after listening to it a few times. I hate thinking of growing up.

I agree. I still don't even get what some of the songs on 21stCB are supposed to mean. I like the stylings of Uno.

I'm listening now. I'm finally sold on Stay the Night. Did not get the hype among fans, I thought it was a somewhat boring song, but the studio version is solid.

I'm really overwhelmed right now by how much this just DOES NOT sound like 21CB in any way. Refreshing is right! And I liked 21CB.

Not entirely sure yet, but it seems to me the song is about Green Day growing up, basically. Billie could be singing about how his band has stood the test of time while the punk community which they were a part of - hell, the community which MADE them - has disappeared into nothing. Now he's trying to find his place between all the mainstream amateurs, nostalgic about the old times.

if you were wondering, you quoted someone with a link or someone who asked for it, without editing the quote so the question/link was still in the thread :P

I actually feel more inclined to replay Troublemaker than many of the other tracks on the CD. I think it's great and fun!
