Cob
Maybe I'll learn to appreciate "Walk Away", "The Forgotten" and "See You Tonight" in a shuffled up playlist And yeah, I just wanted you to know that I wasn't trying to make enemies with you, some of your opinions I greatly appreciate I don't want to make enemies with anybody here, after all we're all Green Day fans who obviously appreciate some damn good music. I share similar sentiments about "The Forgotten", although I've gotten used to it. I suggest starting your shuffle with See You Tonight, sometimes the transitions into the other songs can be pretty startling and sometimes even funny. I think The Forgotten is probably the best ballad Green Day's ever made. When the strings break in, it's just so damn wonderful, peaceful music to listen. It definitely outranked all the other ballads for me.

Remy
I don't know but I just love this album. I can't decide if I love it the most out of the three, though something tells me Tre is more consistant but Uno has some better songs. As does Dos, like Nightlife and Amy. Bottom line is I just love the whole trilogy and I'm so grateful we got to see three brand new Green Day albums in 2012. Who would've thought? Amazing! Remy
You're going to get hated for the Nightlife but i love the song as well Lol, that's hilarious if someone hates me for liking a song they don't like. They should stop listening to music in that case, and go do something competative like sports. Music is art, and Nightlife is experimental art at that. I love it. Red Lights Flash
Guys, this is kinda random but.. I just saw an amazing and professionally recorded performance of Let Yourself Go. The video doesn't have nearly enough views, so I'm guessing not everyone will have seen this one. Just had to share. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25MgdTL4vZo Holy shit, this just blows me away. They should stop listening to music in that case, and go do something competative like sports. Music is art, and Nightlife is experimental art at that. I love it. No one has said that they hate you for liking a song they don't like. We just hate the song and at the same time we are confused how people like Nightlife (and Rusty James, and Wow That's loud) or whatever songs that don't fit our own ear and our own tastes. It's nothing weird about that. And why do you bring up hate with sports? Love is close to hate. Why should we discard the other, cause that would leave the other one lonely. If we discard indifference instead, we keep Love and Hate. Hate isn't the opposite of Love. Indifference is the opposite of love. This actually shows that if someone hates you, that is actually better than someone being indifferent about you and do not care one bit at all. So in the end, someone hating you isn't actually as "hilarious" as someone being indifferent about you. This is exactly why there are these communities and forums, cause people want to share opinions, loving and more "hateful" or disrespectful. Indifference is hard to come by as that would mean no-one would be here cause no-one would care about anything.

Lol. It's my least favorite song in the trilogy but I still think it's alright. About Uno, it's also my least favorite album of the trilogy but I still love it. My favorite song is Rusty James and Angel Blue, Kill the DJ and Troublemaker (just can't get enough of the guitar riffs on the later two) are some of my other favorites. Least favorite is probably Oh Love and Loss Of Control. Oh Love is good but I just get a bit bored when I listen to it. Really fun album overall and a worthy addition to the Green Day collection in my opinion.

junkpile
I had my fair share of doubts how the new albums will sound. I'm glad they found back to their roots. UNO kicks ass. I love it. Back in the Warning days, I would have never imagined they can return with a sound like that. Nothing wrong with Warning, but any song in that period after doesn't have the energy and feeling like any song from UNO. Maria f.e., or Favourite Son,...they're ok songs, but UNO has Kerplunk, Dookie and Warning in it and it, thank god, steps far away from the too hard trying 21st Century Breakdown. Maria and Favourite Son are such awesome songs! Favourite Son is one of many of my fave GD songs haha I agree, Uno has a certain kick to it, but I found it can get quite tiresome after repeated listens. I take it as an occaisonal record to listen to, but not something day to day

InvaderPhantom
insert huge quote here I enjoy the trilogy for what it is and I'm not as disappointed in it as you are, but I still liked your post because it's a damn good analysis of what is kind of missing in the trilogy. Like I said I like the trilogy, but it's just missing this tiny Green Day spark that made every single record before it so amazing. Even not as popular albums such as Warning, Insomniac and 1039/SOSH still had that Green Day spark that made them amazing, but this three records just don't have it. Some individual songs have them (Lazy Bones and X-Kid for example), but the majority doesn't and I'm not sure why. I still enjoy the songs and they will be very fun live, but I probably won't have this special place in my heart that every other GD album has. It's probably... honesty. Billie Joe is one of my favorite songwriters because all of his lyrics are so honest. From the gigantic society criticizing anthems from AI and 21stCB to the amateurish songs about boredom from 1039/SOSH and Dookie. I really don't want to say that the lyrics in the trilogy aren't honest, especially after seeing that snippet from iQuatro! - Billie must really love the trilogy songs - , but they just aren't as amazing for me as the rest of the discography. A lot of the songs seem "rushed", but the majority of Nimrod and Insomniac sound kind of rushed but they are still amazing. For some time I thought I didn't enjoy the trilogy as much because it isn't as musically and lyrically complex as AI and 21stCB, but albums like Dookie are also rather simple but they are still great. Roaming round your house wasting your time No obligation, just wasting your time So why are you alone wasting your time When you could be with me wasting your time Well I'm a waste like you With nothing else to do May I waste your time too Those lyrics are obviously not very complex, but they still feel so genuine. Whenever I listen to Sassafrass Roots I'm like "God, I know this feeling". Trilogy songs are also rather simple but they just don't have it. IT'S SO HARD TO DESCRIBE Oh well, I'm just hoping the next record will have that Green Day spark. (I know that "Green Day spark" sounds stupid as hell, but I have no other word to describe it)

J&TheNight
I'm just blown away by the amount of analysis going on here! I love to figure out what the lyrics mean or where the song came from, but I never just dive into that, I let the words hit me at different times so that I learn to really appreciate it. Not knocking you guys, I've just never been a big fan of analysing someones lyrics to death. I'm also so surprised to see so many strongly formed opinions already! Kudos to you guys! I seriously have yet to make up my mind on just about anything. I listen to at lest one of the three a day, in order to keep perspective. But the trouble is that from the first listen of each to now, my opinion has changed considerably on several tracks. It's frustrating, I just can't decide which album I love the most. I'm feeling either Tre or Uno, Dos just doesn't hit me quite as strong TODAY. Tomorrow it may be different. I've been on this group for about 10 years now and still can't decide which album/song I love most. I'm just so in love with this group that I have trouble sorting out where my love belongs most in this trilogy! I can say that, as of now, there are at most TWO tracks that don't hit me crazy hard. I have found something to love in all of these tracks. Idunno, I disagree with most of the reviews I've read for this trilogy. I really do consider it something special. It's no more "talented" than say 21st or American Idiot, or as aged as Dookie, but it's incredible. Onto the main topic, I think Uno is MUCH MUCH MUCHHHHH better after it's had some time to settle. I really didn't give Dos a great chance as it had the smallest amount of time to itself, and I blame that on my current opinion of it. Uno has some stellar tracks, my least favorite being Oh Love I think. I just felt that one song could have used a bit more work. This album is just incredible of course, and I'll be posting a full review soon for the trilogy.
