is it an impossibility that let yourself go will be one of those songs with a long live bridge and a fan can do the "screamo" parts? The idea itself has hilarious potential imo :P

That'd be potentially hilarious especially if it was the "Gimee gimme HUUJJJIBUUJJA" kid who sang "Know Your Enemy" at that last New York Show who they got to do the screamo :D

When Billie comes back and they appear on TV and such I believe it will be a bit better.

I would assume that the trilogy will amass to a total of around 1mil-1.5mil copies sold at the end of 2013.

If they would release a compilation of the trilogy as well the total might go up to max 2mil.

I don't think that's necessarily bad.

Let me tell you something. The video you posted is the same as mine (Same gig to be precise). However, the version from Japanese ¡UNO! was shortened in the interlude section.

That's why I said "official UNO's Japanese bonus track", y' know?

Today I decided to listen to Uno! and I realized a few things.

1) Lyrically, Uno is the album out of the trilogy that I least understand. Some songs are a no-brainer (Carpe Diem, Troublemaker, Sweet 16) but others I just don't get or relate to.

2) If I think about listening to Uno, I don't really feel it. But when I actually force myself to put it in the player and start listening to it, I can get into it. On the other hand, just the thought of Dos or Tre makes me want to listen to them and dance around.

Uno is a lot easier for me to appreciate now that I have the whole trilogy, I think. Otherwise I would identify it as my least favorite.

Uno was the mistake of the trilogy where Green Day caved to the fans screaming Christie Road at the concerts. They tried to go back and recapture old glory and it didn't work at all. Billie's new overproduced vocals on Uno completely ruin any chance the songs had of coming across as snotty or bratty. The lyrics felt contrived because they were completely out of place compared to the band's natural progression. I guess we can only wonder what songs hit the cutting room floor.

I doubt people at concerts even think about the band's progression to decide if they like them or not  And Billie's vocals aren't overproduced live,t hey're just normal for him. Plus, the trilogy has no 'mistakes'. There are people who like it, and if Green Day decided to put it out it's no mistake. Also ¡Uno! has good songs on it, although less than the other two albums: it has Stay The Night, Let Yourself Go, Carpe Diem, Kill the DJ...

People at concerts might not care, but you don't really create studio albums for people at concerts anyway. If Green Day just wanted to play concerts they could sell out the entire world and no one would think twice. The thing is, when you do make studio albums people expect to see a certain mature progression along the way, which Green Day had been doing up until Uno! Also, to suggest that there are no mistakes in the trilogy is actually frightening. OF COURSE there are mistakes. There are certain mistakes in nearly every record every made and it doesn't ruin them, but Uno! was a major mistake. It doesn't fit with Green Day's progression and it really started the trilogy off with a whimper rather than a bang. Imagine if Uno! could have opened up well with a great lead single and sustained a top ten chart status for a few weeks. We might have seen better openings for Dos and Tre though that's not guaranteed. Uno should have been a b-sides compilation with maybe the exceptions of nuclear family and kill the dj. Everything else would've made for a great Shenanigans 2.

They said themselves that they write their albums thinking more about the live performances. That you don't like ¡Uno! doesn't mean it's a mistake. I agree it's the worst one in the trilogy but I don't think it's a mistake. An album doesn't need to break the charts to be a good album, there are many good albums thatr don't do good in sales e.g. Warning. I also don't understand what your concept of 'progression' is. People's minds don't always elvolve forward. I myself was much more mature 1 or 2 years ago, but I decided to calm down and have more fun so now I'm more reckless. They kinda did the same. They decided they were tired of being that mature and emotional and that they wanted to take a step back with ¡Uno! and ¡Dos! and just make more fun music. I liked it. And I think it does fit with their 'progression'.
