Peyton Sawyer
My daughter loves Troublemaker. Every time I put it on she starts "dancing". Hysterical. She's 10 months old so you'll have to imagine that. she already knows what good music sounds like, that's great!!
serenade_xx
I always thought that in carpe diem he sings 'are we all too young to die' until I read the lyrics xD It doesn't seem to make sense in the first place but to me it was such a clever lyric like that...kinda like he's accusing all the people of saying they want to really live and enjoy their life, but in reality they're just wasting away their days...I'm stupid nevermind xD I just thought it fits the song better

Femme Gauche
I covered Stay the Night! I like it . For some reason, not how I expected you to sound? Don't ask me what I expected, I have absolutely no basis for my expectations . But I like it. My only thing is that I prefer the electric, but it may just be that's what I'm used to. Heather.
I covered Stay the Night! Fuck that was too good for my conscience to accept. I'll just reiterate the compliment I made for your Rusty James cover and go dig myself a hole of denial. I think my problem is that I'm irrationally mad that Billie hasn't recorded his own acoustic albums, so yours are serving as studio-quality substitutes. drugstore hooligan
Uno hasn't left my stereo since i got it. And each listen it gets better and better. Its definitely a welcome return to their roots but with a modern twist. Its great. But ive said that a lot in this thread
The Grohl
UNO is way better than I expected. I wasn't so sure when I heard "Oh Love" but I love it! Even Oh Love has it's place on the album

But ive said that a lot in this thread same with me...i listened 24/7 to UNO..with my stereo, in my car, smartphone, mp3 player... but since ~last week ive started listening to other GD songs again ...but this will change again when DOS is out ^^
Femme Gauche
I haven't listened to it nearly as much as I did 21st Century Breakdown when it first came out. It's a completely different record from that one, obviously. And I have even been able to listen to ¡Uno! on shuffle, which... I still don't really do with 21st Century Breakdown. Of course, I think there are clear reasons why it is much more appropriate for the latter, but still. It's just a completely different experience. DannyDirnt
lol so cool, I was talking to my friend on the phone and hearing Sweet 16 in the background He's been listening to ¡Uno!, he bought it and he loves it!
Ritz
I feel empty when I listen to only one of the songs. I get the urge to listen to the whole album when my iPod is on shuffle and a random Uno song is played.
BadBrain
Ok, I don't know if this has ever been brought up and this is kind of a longshot but I was listening to Loss of Control and there is that line "hey isn't that old whatshisface that I see walking down the street?" I was thinking that if this song could be kinda related to the American Idiot - storyline. You know, Whatsername had that one line "Did she ever marry old whatshisface?" I know it's just a figure of speech but still Then there's that line "I wanna find me a better scene..." and other lines that remind me of Jesus of Suburbia. Could it be? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. It's 7:40am, I'm so tired and I don't know what I'm typing

But no one responded to me Anyway, It's cool that he writes things that only the fans would understand Oh, and Whatsername is about Amanda so, and Amanda is on the trilogy, so it's not weird that he talks about "whatshisface"
SuzD
i think it's not a stretch to link albums and themes from albums. we don't know when songs, or even snatches of lyrics were written either. after playing the album at least once a day since i got it (and generally quite a bit more), i've finally decided that Rusty James is officially my favourite. I love so many of the songs but when Rusty James ends, it gives you that feeling of, i don't know, epic fulfilment. It's that sigh of satisfaction like you've got to the end of an awesome journey. i think i need to formulate better words, but i'm hoping you know what i mean. It's not my favorite, but it's up there, and the end is awesome. That's kind of another reason I'm not a huge Oh Love fan, even in the context of the album. It kind of throws everything out of whack. Especially since Rusty James is so epic and leaves you feeling good, almost like the album should have ended there. I wonder if Oh Love just would have fit better on a different album. I always thought it would fit TRE 'cause it has kind of different mixing and vocals
The Platypus!
I love the new album think it's a great mix of Green Day's styles. But does anyone else think that in the song Stay The Night where Billie is singing, 'I've gotta know if you're the one that got away' that it sounds like another song? Maybe not another Green Day song but to me it reminds of some song. Anyone else think so?
Clockwise
Thematically, Oh Love is the perfect link between UNO and DOS, but the actual style of the song definitely seems like it could have been on TRE. I think it's perfect where it is, though.

Not sure about that one... but there are parts of the album where I'm thinking "Oh my gosh, I know I've heard this before" in terms of it sounding like other Green Day songs. Kind of like how it took me forever to realize The Static Age is the same as Church on Sunday. I know Rusty James sounds very similar to Scattered and Let Yourself Go reminded me of Maria, but I just love Stay the Night so much I never considered it sounding like something else! (Disclaimer: I'm not one of those people who say "OMG this song sounds like another song, they suck at making new music." I know shit happens and there's only so many chords to go around.) Similarly, I can't help but think "I'll spend the night living in denial" in Fell For You sounds similar to something I've heard before. Any thoughts? (Absolutely adore that song too, by the way.) The Offspring - Kids Aren't Alright/You're Gonna Go Far Kid. Gaslight Anthem - pretty much every song. Sum 41 - The Hell Song. So it sounds like a lot of songs but doesn't sound like it's specifically ripped from any of them. Unlike Amy which is just plagiarism of All I've Got To Do. The Grohl
Hey did anyone order the UNO package that came with the lyric/art book from the official GD store? I want to know how long it took you to get it because on the site it says estimated shipping days is 7-10 days and I don't know if I really wanna wait that long, especially because I'm not getting a digital copy.
