It's not so much that I'm against a little empty rage. I love Platypus and a host of others that fit that category. It's just that Let Yourself Go and Loss Of Control, the most punk sounding songs on the album, have those generic "fuck this, fuck that" punk lyrics. In the past they could do a pop punk song like Having A Blast but it said something interesting lyrically. I guess what I'm saying is that to me it sounds like they're on auto pilot. Almost like, "Okay, we need punk songs......okay, now we need punk lyrics to go with our punk songs....okay, here's our punk songs!". They just don't seem convincing to me.

I see what you are saying, but I don't really agree. It may have been a natural course for the songs, but I don't think that means they were "on auto-pilot" or just "going for punk". Also, "Loss of Control" strikes me as being in the same vein as "Rusty James", or "86".

No one was hating on it, it's really fucking catchy. Just... a little confused about the lyrics, haha. (Well, I'm not now... not as much)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the California-born opera singer Angel Blue. She's been compared to opera greats and was a model and beauty queen. Seems to be keeping with the lyrics of the song somewhat too.

If I had to pick an order of songs, I couldn't  I like them all for different reasons, and they fit the order they were in the album because the all worked as an album opposed to individual tracks

I love that song!

I just changed my ringtone on my iPhone to one of the songs from the album and it was a toss up between Kill The DJ and Angel Blue. I decided on Kill The DJ, though. I can't get enough of it! :D For that matter, I can't get enough of any of the songs on ¡Uno!!

Bought it on vinyl today!

I ordered mine... It's supposed to ship 'On or before the 10th'. (Along with the 21CB 3-disc vinyl, CD and art book).

I was singing the only one or two lines of "Angel Blue" that I'm sure about the words of, throughout my shopping venture this evening with my sister xD. Talking about it got it stuck in my head. Questionable content or not, it's fucking catchy.

Nice. I bought mine at Newbury Comics, haha. I've already got 21CB on vinyl but that version sounds rad.

'You're just a fucking kid and no one ever gives you a break' is in my head constantly.

Yeah I already have 2 CDs of 21CB (and I don't collect the CDs really; I only have one each of the rest) but I couldn't pass this up for $70 XD.

I just did the chorus thingy, "You're angel blue, with teenage traces, angel blue, with pretty faces" a pretty innocuous bit of the song xD.

Hey guys... Since I'm a little behind on this topic and I don't have the time to read 108 pages worth of content, I thought I'd post a link to my review of ¡Uno! I wrote for my student newspaper, The BG News, last week. It summarizes my thoughts! :) (I gave it an A-!)

http://www.bgnews.com/entertainment/green-day-lets-loose-with-first-of-three-albums/article_9ee10638-091d-11e2-9936-001a4bcf887a.html

Also, if you guys like my review, feel free to check out my student paper's Facebook page and post some comments if you feel inclined to do so. (Link below... it's about 5-6 posts down.) Since our student body is oh-so-educated (sarcasm), right now there's just two guys doing a little circle-jerk of insults directed at me and GD. Gotta love the Internet.

The fact that you like all the tracks supports reviewers' opinion of "no stand-out tracks"

]

I didn't say I thought there were no stand out tracks, I like all the tracks on AI, and would find it extremely hard to pick out the best one(s) from it - but you can't say there are no stand out tracks on that album.

And the point I was trying to make (not very well), was that I thought Uno! was way better that most of the reviewers opinions I have read. (But having heard the clip from Lazy Bones, I definately think that will be a stand out track from Dos!)

Guest MadeInRatCity

Was the lyric to rusty james(LGIT) at first something different? Cause at first when i watched the crapy live recording of that song on youtube the lyric contained lines such as "skinhead came around and blah blah....". Or was it a different song?
