European Tour

That's exactly what I always think when these Monday, Tuesday, etc. festivals are announced :(

Especially with such a great venue. Well, let's wait and see if this is even going to happen.

I don't think there will be a UK tour; not at this rate. It seems they're just hopping between countries more than an indecisive nomad on cocaine, though the reason they're playing only so much per nation is probably because...

For a moment I read that as "Green Day will play the Moon"

I wouldn't put it past them :P

...GREEN DAY TO PLAY ON JUPITER SEPTEMBER 2013.

This might be kind of far-fetched but I now have a little hope for some german or other european dates in August I could make. Fingers crossed for everyone!

That thought crossed my mind too. Nothing wrong with a little hope! :D

Moon and Stars festival is confirmed, guys :)

Awesome! I made a thread for it here :)http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/92891-20130708-moon-and-stars-festival-locarno-switzerland/

New Rumour: Green Day will play the Moon and Stars Festival in Switzerland on July 8th!

Tomorrow they will confirm their full Line-Up.

haha same here  ...i somehow first thought it was an sarcastic answer to all that speculation in this thread, kinda like "yeah sure and i've heard they'll play on the moon"

though now back to all the spaculation: i also hope they'll do a germany tour, though not sure whether that'll really happen as Billie said it before he went to rehab :/ ...but i still have some hopes anyways :P and if not a whole tour, i'm sure they'll at least come for 2 or 3 concerts ;)

A girl I know just posted on Facebook that the moderator of the german radio station hr3 (Frankfurt) said this: "Alle Green Day Fans werden dieses Wochenende wohl nach Amerika geschaut haben. Da haben die Jungs ihre Tournee endlich fortgesetzt. Und das gute ist: Sie sind gut drauf. Wir freuen uns darauf, die Jungs diesen Sommer in Hessen zu sehen."

The important point in this is that he said Green Day would play in the german state "Hessen" this summer. We only know about Rock im Park and Rock am Ring. They're both NOT in Hessen. Can we take this as a rumour, haha? :woot:

Guess on the date would be: May 30th, July 7th or August/ September! Though the first two (especially July 7th!!!!) are REALLY likely since the guys are nearby anyways in these gaps of the tour schedule! :woot:

Oh lord, May 30th would totally suck because of Vienna. Please everything but that  After all, it's just a rumour, though. We can only wait, hope and see!

I'd love to visit Germany. A Green Day gig seems like a pretty damn good excuse to go! Hoping it will be July/August if its true! :)

Exactly! Any other date, but not May 30th... I can't miss German show, but that day I will be already in Vienna.

Why don't they just announce the stadium tour for the whole of Europe already? C'mon guys, you've announced the US now where's Europe??

I've been asking myself the exact same questions for weeks and even months.

But I guess it has something to do with the festival's marketing 'ideas'. They probably make the bands who are playing at their festival signing a contract in which they are forbidden to announce their 'own' concerts (arena/stadium shows, call it what you want) in that certain country before the festival has sold most of the tickets so they can make as much money as possible by making people believe the band won't come to their country except for that festival show. It is getting tricky and a bit mean when there are only 3-day-passes for some of the festivals (like to the ones in Germany) and it would be so much money just to see Green Day but people pay it anyways because they are scared they wouldn't get to see them otherwise.

So therefore I guess it is not even in the hands of Green Day themselves (or their management) to decide when they are going to announce their concerts.

i dont know if Green Day will be doing a "UK TOUR" so to speak - as they seem to be doing the Festival sets around this year... im pretty sure that they will be back for a FULL uk (arena) tour next year though ... but thats all speculation and i could be 100% wrong

Seems to make sense! Didn't think of it that way ;-)

Aggh, I'm in Ireland in July! :(

I hope I can see them next year in Ireland, though if they do an arena UK-Ireland tour it would probably be before Summer 2014... I have hope though :P And I'm happy with what I got already :P

I don't know if it has some relevance, but Sheffield Arena's FB page reported the news about Green Day headlining R&L a couple of days ago...

Might just be down to Sheffield being near Leeds, but we'll see.

Green Day will play in Montreux (Switzerland) on July 7. :)

Mountreux Jazz Festival will announce their lineup on April 18, so I guess we'll get an official announcement around that date..

Do you know that because Montreux was listed on the t-shirts? How do you know it's July 7? And do you know if that Jazz Festival works like the Moon & Stars one: Concerts or a normal festival? :) Sorry, so many questions!

I saw it listed on US Tour shirts, and there's also an Italian article that says that GD will play in Montreux on July 7 (I can't post the link cause I'm writing on my mobile).

I checked Mountreux Jazz Festival website and I think it's a normal indoor concert. :)
