Clockwise
One of the biggest punk bands of all time? Sales wise, yes. Influence wise? HELL NO! That's just wrong. Blink is absolutely one of the most influential bands of all time, whether you like their music or not.
.Brian
One of the biggest punk bands of all time? Sales wise, yes. Influence wise? HELL NO! I wouldn't consider them 'punk' at all, but that's another topic.. I don't care what kind of band they are, I just can't stand them. And I have no idea why Green Day would tour with them again. If this is going to happen for real, it's gonna be the first time that I hope it's US-only

Clockwise
One of the most influential bands of all time? What have you been smoking? I feel like asking you the same question would be more valid. They basically shaped a generation. More new bands cite blink as an influence than they do Green Day. Anja
Could you stop spamming this thread with stupid Blink/Green Day talk please? I'm sure lots of people who come to this thread looking for any sort of news would appreciate not finding tons of topic-unrelated stuff.

netty
I have a horrible feeling that a bunch of trolls. possibly on the blink forums, are laughing themselves stupid over all this! which is what happens when you give to much credence to bullshit and rumours and what people are wishing for. WrongWayToSalvation
I feel like asking you the same question would be more valid. They basically shaped a generation. More new bands cite blink as an influence than they do Green Day. Blink is basically an immature version of Green Day when they started getting popular. While Green Day started out as immature, they started out immature in a mature way, while Blink was immature in an immature way. And I don't really listen to radio all that much, but when I do I hear old school Green Day songs played a whole lot more than Blink ones.
Heather.
With this NFL news (awesome man, I LOVE football, Green Day loves football, and I think it's great exposure), I keep wondering if it's possible that Green Day play the Super Bowl this year. They obviously have a good relationship with the NFL going back to when the played BOBD and LOTAG and all that, and I very often hear Green Day songs played on TV during NFL games. I wonder if *that's* the huge news announced tomorrow? Probably not since that announcement usually doesn't come for a while, but you never know... Clockwise
Oh no no no no, you are so wrong even blink themselves look up to Green Day I'm aware of that, and overall Green Day is more popular and more influential. I'm just saying that most bands from the current pop punk scene would cite blink as more of an influence than Green Day, so they are extremely influential. I'm not disputing any of that, in the long run Green Day is the most popular/influential/my personal favorite of the two. But there's no questioning the fact that blink are also massively influential.

Clockwise
Hahaha sorry guys, I got passionate about blink for a few seconds. Believe it or not, my heart does stand with Green Day. Anyways, I really hope the pre-sale is on Tuesday, because I don't have work. Between this announcement and the NYC contest, I'm going bonkers. I'm also wondering what kind of venues they'll be playing.

Dax
I'd really this to be tour dates. I can't decide if I should buy the box set or not - I'm usually quite good at getting tickets. But I did struggle a bit for the UK dates in 09. And back in 05 I ended up being 3 hours late for work the day they went on sale. I can't really get away with something like that any more.
