Femme Gauche
Can't believe they weren't on the Main stage headlining! Stupid organisers It would be hard to keep a secret if they were.
TheJedi
It was a surprise secret performance. If they hadn't been okay with that early spot, they wouldn't have played... And if they have one hour to play, then they should only play one hour, no matter if they're one of the biggest bands in the world or not. it's GREEN DAY. you shouldnt be surprised. like they've said themselves "they do whatever the fuck they want". i kind of think that's pretty fun. i dont see the problem... im sure the other bands got enough time to play

It sucks for other people. A lot. But at the same time, venues booking the band ought to be aware of their history: In other words, they have a tendency to fuck with people. Billie's stage personality is massive. It's hard for people to really compete.
Irrlicht
use the firefox-addon "anonymox" to stream the show on bbc, if you're outside the UK..
LittleBoyNamedTrain
The programme synopsis actually says 'The Vaccines and Florence And The Machine' so I imagine they're only showing a couple of Green Day songs.
GuitarPunk94
:/ wont be able to watch this tonight at 8pm coz a RHCP show will be streamed live so ill wait for youtube vids ^^
Soo
The programme synopsis actually says 'The Vaccines and Florence And The Machine' so I imagine they're only showing a couple of Green Day songs. They said they would be showing a big chunk of the set but they said that about another act on some festival highlights last month and it ended up only being a couple of songs. Hopefully it will be more though or available on the red button!
sampy
Will they air the whole show or just clips of it?
Celsius
It seems to me that when they don't want to live the stage, make surprise appearance or play little club, it is Green Day's way of telling the world that they want to be teen agers again. They want to be young, they want to be a little band like they were before Dookie ! Just play for a core of fans in little venues, doing whatever they want and play any song Imo it's awesome ^^ Any videos of them not leaving the stage? burnout409
Does anyone know what songs they actually played, I've seen at least 3 different set lists people have said they played + the one Billie put up on instagram which they didn't play in full right? tomdsjames
That gig was fucking awesome very sweaty inside that tent and I was knackered afterwards having got up at 5am to travel from Staffordshire. Well worth it though. This BBC setlist is the correct one though I wouldn't have included Boulevard of Broken Dreams as they only played the first verse. Justin
NME posted this fan reaction video to youtube. All very positive comments "Its crazy to see them in something so small" That guy would have died if he saw them at Shepherds Bush! The NME Tent isnt even that small to be honest, i think its pretty big and holds plenty of people
Trina
Aghhh! I'm going to be going nuts with the remote later on flicking between bbc3, red-button and multi-screens! I think the best bet is to keep more of an eye on bbc3 as they could show something only once whereas anything on the red-button will almost definitely be shown again later. I'm also so freaked out my tape-player will act up (as usual)! Can't believe they weren't on the Main stage headlining! Stupid organisers Well, for all we know they could have been asked to headline and turned it down and suggested this instead. This tour is going to be full of weird appearances and secret, smaller gigs and I think they just seen this as something fun and more spontaneous to do. I'm sure they'll headline Reading & Leeds within the next couple of tours. The programme synopsis actually says 'The Vaccines and Florence And The Machine' so I imagine they're only showing a couple of Green Day songs. I suppose they couldn't put Green Day on the description though as it was meant to be a secret! The info for tv guides, etc goes out a week ahead (probably earlier) so they couldn't mention it, y'know? I'm hoping and thinking they'll play a fair bit. It is Green Day after all. Justin
To be honest, id be happy if they never play Reading again, and just keep doing stadium shows. I like Reading but i wouldnt want to see Green Day there, the sound is never as good as a normal show, they wouldnt get to do a normal full Green Day show, and to be honest, Reading is full of so many wankers it would annoy me
Undómiel
I need it to be June. Leeds is better.

I think the best bet is to keep more of an eye on bbc3 as they could show something only once whereas anything on the red-button will almost definitely be shown again later. I'm also so freaked out my tape-player will act up (as usual)! I will have two TVs. One set to BBC3 the other to the red button. Did you know that the red button is usually a channel in its own right on freeview ? Try checking 301 or 302. Use this with one TV on freeview you can then hop btw the red button and normal (BBC3) channel much faster. HTH.
DarrenDookie
Is it definitely 8pm? There's another show showing starting at 7 with "live coverage from the Reading Festival"...

They didn't play 99 revolutions. The rest is correct. It was during Basket Case the organisers tried to drag them off stage...

Oh well, at worst I'll hopefully only miss a few seconds.. High-five fellow VCR-taper, high five. Is it definitely 8pm? There's another show showing starting at 7 with "live coverage from the Reading Festival"... Well a presenter on BBC Radio 1 said they'd show it at 8 so I guess that's pretty likely but I'm still gonna check from 7 just incase!
Jaymee!!
I just watched the 30 second preview video from BBC, and it's the first time in a very long time that I've gotten goosebumps from watching a live show video. Makes me excited for tour!
