You mean they didnt play Dookie in full even though they so assuringly said they would....

I said all along that it was a joke, i honestly have no idea how all these reporters could not realise this. I hope specifically NME get a huge load of complaints about there shit reporting :D

Just announced on BBC R1 that they will be playing songs from the Green Day set during the current programme on now (1300-1600). They stated is was a great set so I would be hopeful of video coverage on the red button BBC3 at 7pm as well.

At numerous times during the set, the organisers attempted to get the band to finish, but Armstrong seemed determined to carry on. However, he did curtail the band's 2004 single 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams', telling the crowd: "We're having a little fucking problem with time."

However, the band then seemed set on defying the festival organisers, with Armstrong shooing away anyone who tried to turn off his guitar. He even told the crowd: "Fuck time, I'm going to play for as long as I want to." Even when the coverage ended on the Main Stage, the band still ploughed on, leaving a large group of fans to watch a distant screen from behind a security cordon.

In the end, the set clocked in at just over an hour and included 12 songs, with classics 'Basketcase', 'Minority' and 'Brain Stew' all in the setlist. They ended with 'Dookie' track 'She'.

setlist:

'Welcome To Paradise'

'Murder City'

'Burnout'

'Hitchin' A Ride'

'Letterbomb'

'Brain Stew'

'St Jimmy'

'Longview'

'Basketcase'

'American Idiot'

'Minority'

'She'

i'm having a good lie down in my tent now after an epic gig. They came on just before 11am and did an hour and 20mins. You've pretty much got the setlist.

, and then there's that "audible" word that i'm not sure for what stands for but I've seen it plenty of times in Green Day setlists. It's just kind of order for the fireworks or something like that.

I was wondering this aswell, but then i listened to the Mike Dirnt interview on Radio 1, when they talk about setlists about how alot are unplanned he said "a third of the setlist for years have been audibles"

so im guessing it means any song they fancy playing

Does anyone know if BBC are going to air this? I've looked through Sky and can't find it. Maybe next week?

Edit: never mind red button at 7 got it! Hopefully they have it on there!

Basically "play by ear", I would assume.

As much as it is shitty for other people that they kept playing, this definitely seems like something they would have done 20 years ago... They have a talent for mayhem when it comes to festivals.

I agree with people saying it's a little unfair to keep playing when there are a lot of bands after you who are waiting to enter the stage. It's great when they play as long as they want as the headliner, as the last band to perform. But I guess I wouldn't have complained as a part of that crowd as well

I was pissed off at first that they announced last minute and that I couldn't go, but my friend rung me up and I listened to them over the phone :D

There were a heck of a lot of "HEEEEEEEEEYY OOOOOOOOOOH"s
