Everything works perfectly except for the chorus lines during the breakdown - nothing to fill it with. I really love the song, the guitarsolo is amazingly catchy. But, I really miss the intensity the live version had. I wish they made it a bit more raw and aggresive on the album. I agree, this is a way better than the radio edit. I kinda like the break on the chorus "Someone kill the DJ, Shoot The..DJ", it doesn't sound so repetitive than the original clean edit. Wouldn't surprise me if they still weren't able to fully accept that vocal change in some of the songs and therefor decide to not like the song. It's easy to blame it on the "auto tune" which is complete bullcrap, while it's been clear since their very first album that Billie Joe is a terribly talented singer. Maybe not the best in the world, but he's never afraid to allow himself to improve. It's just a pity that there is always something people allow themselves to be disappointed about. Just let go of the "what should be punk" and "this is not like their older songs" and you might open yourself up for the new Green Day era. Maybe you'll like it or still dislike it, in the end there is no one who can change your musical opinion and taste. And yeah, they made a huge album with American Idiot and had a huge impact on the musical industry with Dookie. But both albums were launched at the right time and moment and fit the current atmosphere perfectly. Green Day are just a mortal band with members who could easily be your neighbor or your best friend. If they had magical power then maybe they would be able to make all our penises or vaginas go wild. I think it is safe to assume that some people have very unrealistic high expectations of this band and probably won't ever understand what "having fun" truly means to the band itself. We aren't forced to like whatever direction they decide to go in, but since we all committed ourselves to become a huge fan because of the huge impact some of their songs made in our life, we should at least look deeper into the new songs than just the first layer it presents. I just don't understand the people who talk about how auto-tuned his voice is...especially on the falsetto stuff. The uncensored version! So it's not UK only. Besides, it definitely said that the second digital download single would be available August 14th. They probably just fucked up. But as I mentioned in the first place, it's just a bit too slow in my opinion. The verses and the chorus start to drag on really quick.
