But we heard the live version of this already, why's everyone acting like it's brand new content ...? :o

Edit: Oh, that's why ... The studio version sounds vastly different than the live version, haha. M'bad!

I think also because everyone was curious how the studio version would sound like. Plus: A lot of people on here didn't listen to most of the live versions.. so this has been something brand new at least for them :)

Aww, sorry. =/

No worries :) managed to get to a computer now, I was looking after someone so couldn't really run off but I've dragged him here with me. :P

Well, I love the uncensored version. Sure it's better live but Green Day always are, awesome to hear them do something so different. Can't choose a favourite, they're all too different to compare!

Well I like it that the iTunes one is the album version and not the radio edit. Much much better

It's more FBHT than GD, but that's fine. I'm not swooning over it like i did "Oh Love", but it's good.

I actually think that's good. I'd rather have them releasing three Foxboro-like albums than three 21st Century-like albums.

Yep. Most of us have been avoiding listening to the live versions.

It's sooooooo much better when it's "Shoot the fucking DJ" instead of "Someone shoot the DJ" and the other two major changes which I'm lazy enough to type here.

When I listened it to the 1st few times I didn't like it as much as Oh Love. But now I love it more. Kill The DJ is amazing song and you just can't stop listening to it! ;)

This is actually the first time I've heard it, I never listened to the live one. I LOVE it, can't stop listening to it. I like it a lot more than Oh Love and I don't even not like that one. I can't wait for the whole album.

Exactly! "Shoot the fucking DJ" verse gives the song flavor :D

After listening to the uncensored version a few times, I can safely say that I'm happy. The song is pretty easy listening and I didn't have any "omg real punk plz" expectations so it works for me well. It's a little repetitive, even for the new songs, but it doesn't get annoying I don't think. Billie's voice is great and the bass gives me a fucking boner. It doesn't really get me hyped up, it just makes me sway back and forth in my seat, which is what it's supposed to do essentially.

Overall it's a solid track and a good single choice.

Yeah! I've got the same feelings, it just sounds weird, like someone put 2 pieces together without proper mixing. Or maybe it just seems to me because I've listened too much trailer.

They threw out the rule book that said 'Green Day' and did what the fuck they wanted. Massive love and respect for that! This song freakin rules! Dayuuuum!

Had this song in my all night and day. Love how its so un green day yet so typically them. Can't wait to see what other suprises the trilogy holds. When they stray from the pop punk formula is when they create a lot of their best work imo.

Bought it from iTunes (Belgium), hope this one gets a good ranking there since if any song is going to bring in new fans this song will be it.

Explicit version is a LOT better than radio version… good quality version is a LOT better than youtube sound quality.

Still get kind of bored of the chorus by the end of the song when I'm actively listening, not when I'm doing other things so I guess that's good.

Oh my goooood, I totally missed this yesterday. That happens when you don't come online, seriously. :pinch:

Anyway, I obviously love it, but I actually prefer the live version...
