'Kill The DJ' Premiere

To many people inventing their own misery on UNO we haven't heard the whole album yet so please don't judge an album you haven't heard yet

Well, considering I've heard what are suppose to be the strongest songs on the album, I think I can make a prediction.

I never said that it was going to be a sure thing, I just have a feeling that !UNO! might just be an average album IMO.

Delete the song from your library, trash can, and computer completely. Then, go to your iTunes account and re-download it.

Will I need to pay for it again?

You have still to hear studio versions of :

Nuclear Family

Carpe Diem

Let Yourself Go

Stay The Night

Fell For You

Loss Of Control

Troublemaker

Angel Blue

Sweet 16

Rusty James

Alot of those songs are strong and just because Kill The DJ and Oh Love "doesn't sound strong enough for you" doesn't mean the whole album is gonna sound weak or average ... Etc :D

Not just for me, they don't seem that strong to a lot of other people too.

And I don't need to hear the studio versions, they obviously haven't changed drastically at all since back in November, so a studio version won't really be all that different to a live version, it'll just have a clearer sound and maybe a vocal effect.

The first 5 tracks have been the most mentioned and Rob himself said they were "perfect" songs. He didn't say anything else about the album. The other songs have barely been described or even mentioned. I'd say 5 tracks are a pretty good representation of a 12 track album.

Am I the only one hearing, "The culture war's in your heart and your mind."??

Decent song. Over all, I am pretty disappointed with the stuff I've heard from them so far. I'm not sure if Green Day has gotten worse, or if my musical tastes have changed since last time they put a record out. Not sure.

Long time lurker, but I really just needed to join to declare my adoration for this song. I seriously can't get it out of my head! And yes, the explicit version is exceedingly better than the radio edit.

One thing that's really bothering me every time I listen is that the background music doesn't seem to loop properly from the "voices in my head are saying shoot the fucker down/motherfucker drowns" parts to the "we are the vultures" part. The transition isn't smooth at all.

Definitely hearing that now! Makes much more sense.

I keep hearing that since I heard it live!

Just got around to listening to it. I like it! I definitely like the explicit version over the radio version. I'm not a fan of the lyric changes.

You gotta give them credit for changing the lyrics pretty smoothly, though.

They didn't simply erase the censored part and left a hole in the song.

I am loving hearing everyone's thoughts on this song, and the new stuff in general! I think the varying points of view are interesting :)

Regardless of what you think of the song, Mike Dirnt said it best...

"Green Day is like sex, when we're good, we're really good, when we're bad . . . we're still pretty damn good."

Spot on, Mike, spot on.

Yeah, me too. Yet I can't understand how can people not love 8th Avenue Serenade or Let Yourself Go. They're just soooooooo good. :(

So is this going to be available in the US to download tomorrow?

I'm from Brazil and it was already on the iTunes Store for download at 10:30 pm.

Since it's already past midnight on the East Coast, it's probably up for sale on the US iTunes Store.

It's not on US iTunes yet.. unless it'll go up at midnight PST, I dont think we'll get it till next week as the Warner site said.

I just listened to the song. Loved it since I heard the live recordings from the secret show.

BUT I don't like the fact that the album version is a bit slower. It doesn't have the same power and feeling like the live version.

I made a proper clean version of the song - just taking out the curses instead of replacing them with different lyrics. The only part I can't get is while Billie sings the chorus over the A chord strikes during the breakdown. You'd think you could just place the A strikes from the intro under it but no, there's the other underlying guitar riffs that'd make it sound weird.
