I don't know. I think I'll stop being pissed off about the song (as it has grown on me a little. Not as much as Oh Love. But still, but than nothing) and just wait until the full album's out. I'll save my judgement 'till then instead of jumping to conclusions about the trilogy and save myself from Green Day related panic attacks.

Right! Most of the time unmentioned songs are even better than singles... I heard sweet 16 and Fell For You(a little piece) with a bad quality and I liked it even more :)

I don't know if this has been mentioned but if you pre-ordered the digital box set, the song is available for download right now.

EDIT: Well it says it is, but you get Oh Love when you download it. Grr.

How do you get the link, is it through an email? I never bothered with oh love as i already had it but i don't want to pay for something on itunes that i've already paid for

I love the explicit version! I've loved this song since I heard the solo in the UNO preview video. The solo is like groovy/ beachy.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I almost always like the songs that aren't singles more anyway, so I'll save my judgement until I can hear every piece and then decide whether or not I'm disappointed or pleased.

I just went to the website, logged into my account, and looked under My Downloadable Products.

My feelings on this one are mixed. Like most of you, my first introduction to the song was via the trailer for ¡Uno!, which instantly intrigued me with its riff. Completely different for Green Day, lovely production, and some fairly explicit referencing of The Clash. Throw in echoes of Them Crooked Vultures' Gunman, and you're all set for a good time.

The first couple of plays of the clean version left me disappointed, however. The voice seemed off in the verses, and the chorus sounded really awkward and repetitive. Similarly, it felt like the riff I'd fallen in love with was all the song had to offer. It didn't seem to go anywhere; it was never going to be a Jesus of Suburbia multi-part opera, but it lacked even the interlude and key change of The Static Age, feeling dull in comparison.

Undeterred, I watched the live video from Echoplex. Wow. That was the song I'd been dreaming of. Played in a sweaty club with the red lights shining down, the song came alive. The backing vocals were more prominent. The beat was faster, and it felt downright sleazy. I'm as white and middle class as they come, and even I knew you just had to dance to this thing. The explicit version isn't as good as that, but is at least better than the radio edit. Not only for the proper lyrics - though they do make a big difference - but because the song needed to grow on me, just as Oh Love has in my continuing distance from it. Where once Kill The DJ was three straight minutes of "Someone someone something the DJ, someone the DJ, someone someone something the DJ, someone the DJ", time and swearing saw it grow into an altogether different beast. And the bridge(s) after the chorus!

It's still a bit slow and needs that elusive something to really put it over the top, but, fuck, I can really see myself pounding the streets with this in my ears. It has a great beat, and - like Oh Love - sounds fresh. The lyrics are better than we've seen up until now, and the verses I once dismissed have wormed their way into my head - just the way Billie Joe rolls his tongue around "New York City paaarrrrrkkkk" is dirty as fuck.

This is the best one yet. Not perfect, true, but better - and with better yet to come out on the dance floor. See you there :toocool:

Alright, just listened to the full thing.

Meh. again.

A lot better than Oh Love for sure, but still, theres something missing. Agreed with EVERYONE who said it's too slow, because it really is.

blegh. whats going on man.

I think they're just making strange single choices. Seems like they're trying to show off different sounds.

Oh. I actually forgot this was coming out today, or more, I lost track of what day and date it was and track of time and what's going on in general and in GD world.. So I got a nice surprise tonight when I checked GDA! I have to say I think I much prefer the live version. Maybe it's just because I feel in love with it and listened to it countless times so it became familiar. I wish it was a bit faster but maybe I'll get used to it. I also think the vocals are over-produced. Like, I don't mind auto-tune being used but it's just the sound itself, it's a little duller. The live version was so full of venom, excitement, sweat; It was pulsating. This is a great song but yeah...the production is a little over-done, the pace a tad dragging. Am I just too used to the live version? Idk. And yeah, explicit version is much better, thanks for the link. They should have made it "funky" DJ instead of fucking! I mean, I turned the volume up to max and blasted it and the bass was so fucking great and I completely love it, don't get me wrong. I wonder when we'll get the video for this? I hope soon as I think it'll be quite cool and make up for what I feel will be the slightly cringe-y, Oh Love!

When I first heard the live version, I thought it sounded great. The edited version sorta made me meh and angry at the same time. (Censorship does that to me.) However, now that I've listened to the real, explicit version, I'm must say that I really, really like this song. I feel like it has the potential, even with the edited version, to be a huge radio hit. :)

Is just me or everybody seemed to love the live version and never stopped repeating the chorus (over and over again) and now that the song is finally out, everybody's reaction is like
