In Oh Love, BJA sings that he can't be satisfied. After reading so many of the comments in its thread and now this one, I wonder if that statement also applies to most of us.

So you basically call me a "titty baby" for generalizing "mainstream" a bit too much. And besides, I haven't heard a single song from Outkast, Gorillaz, Radiohead, Blur on the Radio at least here in years except for a few times. So my version of "mainstream" might be very different from your definition of "mainstream" mainly cause we live in different places.

And that you call me a "titty baby" for this tells more about you than me, and you conveniently left out everything else that I wrote.

The point of my post was that people nowadays expect a song to be amazing out of the gate (i.e. nowadays mainstream, c'mon Green Day isn't really mainstream is it, at least here in Finland you're lucky to hear one Green Day song/day on the radio expect for 21guns which is exactly the kinda song I don't like) and don't have the patience to listen more carefully to a song.

So you basically missed my point by about 95%.

Good job man, good job.

And when did I ridicule anyone, I just said that anyone who uses a fuckyou.gif for something that someone wrote himself is very selfish and rude. I don't think that is ridicule at all.

(not looking forward to having a huge argument about this here, please PM if you want to respond and I'm going to sleep-> then work so I won't respond in about 15-20 hours.)

Owned.

Is this the same length as the Echoplex one? Just wondering if the radio edit is any different besides the censorship.

Everyone has different ears and hears the music different from the others...That's the magic thing with music.

Just grow up, accept everyone's opinion and stop fighting.

Maybe the people who don't like it have standards that are too high, or maybe the people who do like it have standards that are very low. It seems like most Green Day singles nowadays get mixed reception anyway. The only single that I remember that seemed to receive very good reception was Jesus Of Suburbia.

Also is just me or:

"Walking in the dark"

"Take me home tonight" :P

I complained a lot about the autotune on Oh Love, but I'm not going to complain about this one. Because this one uses it right. On Oh Love, that's a power-pop-punk ballad, and Billie can sing just fine, they shouldn't have fucked with his voice. But on this one? This is some kind of funk or something, whatever it is, it definitely needed vocal effects put on it, due to the type of song it is, and I think they did it amazingly.

Anyone else think its ironic that the censored version is ten times more graphic than the original? Suffocate and drown is soo much more inappropriate than motherfucker in my opinion.

I know right? Properly violent. I kind of wish they'd used that line in the real version (maybe just in one of the choruses), because it's so graphic it really got my attention.

I wanna listen the original version. The chorus without "fucking" sounds like he doesn't mean it. (And boring).

Oh my God I didn't like this song a lot in the live version but seriously this is outright boring. It's not exciting at all, it's too soft, it's too slow, it has no hooks. I like the funky guitar thing but that's just about it. It's not intense at all.

Haven't read any of the other comments about it. It's probably been said before. This is my opinion.

Auto tune have their own brand of pitch correction yes, but not everyone who uses pitch correction is using auto tune, there are different brands such as melodyne etc etc. And there are subtle differences. When most think of auto tune they think of cher and her robot voice. Not that it matters. All of Green days records for the last decade have been pitch corrected. I have no problem with it neither.

Dude auto tune is for pitch correction trust me I know as an engineer yes auto tune has setting that can make it sound robotic and there are subtle settings (i.e. Smashing Pumpkins Adore Machina albums)

These fucking pop singers and t pain abuses it where it gets a bad rep oh well i cant wait for the trilogys to cone out... is it september yet?

Kill the DJ is great. Especially when you don't really care about the lyrics and all this shit... Just music

OK just listened to it for the first time. Not crazy about it. It needs to be faster!

it's kind of boring.

Love the guitar though.

I'm sure this song will grow on me. But with Oh Love it was OH LOVE at first listen!

The studio version is growing on me.. I really want the explicit version though. The chorus is way too repetitive this way.

Kill The DJ is up in the UK iTunes now. Search the song, then click buy, if you try to click on the album itself it will not work.

Clean version only?

Chorus gets very repetitive after a few listens, almost as bad as Know Your Enemy. Don't listen to them back to back, christ!

Someone know your enemy

Shoot your fuckin' enemy.

Let Yourself Go is still my favourite song out of the three i've heard so far, can't wait to hear a studio version of that.

This is the post that will get me hated by most of the people here, but here it goes:

I'm hugely disappointed by this song! That doesn't even cover it, there is no word in elvish, entish or the tongues of men for how disappointed I am.

I hadn't listened to any of the songs recorded at secret shows, so this is my first time listening. But I had heard the few seconds of it on the trailer for ¡Uno! and that tiny piece of music got me so excited about this song, because even though it didn't sound much like any of the previous Green Day's songs, it sounded just oh so good, and I still stand by it, those bit in the songs were still highly enjoyable... but aside from those few glorious seconds, I was just bored out of my mind and wondering how much longer the song would last, by the end of it I was honestly feeling like if I heard "someone kill the DJ, someone shoot the DJ" one more time I'd have to actually shoot at a DJ just to make him stop repeating that :(

And before people start posting hate replies in my direction (not that you can't), just know that I'm more hurt to be writing this than you are about reading it.

I'll give it a few more tries, maybe it's a grower. (I hope).

Funny how these things works though, I expected very little from "Oh Love" and yet I love that song already, with this one it went the other way around.

Ah! Bahahahahaha! Well that at least lifted my spirits. I was just thinking of how it is nearly as repetitive as Know Your Enemy. Unfortunatelly it only took one listen for me to realize that.
