I just laugh at all the people on main forums posting "Green Day fuckyou.gif" for this and bashing this.

They listen to the first fucking minute and say this is garbage.

Songs that are amazing on the first listen aren't really good IMO. They are songs that have no substance; you hear everything there is to hear in the first listen (i.e. nowadays mainstream shit). Green Day and some other bands have songs that are okay on the first listens, but you feel like the song can give a whole lot more if you give it time to settle in and mature for a while in your mind.

This was a small exception for me cause I immediately liked this quite a lot, but I didn't realize how much until I listened to it again and again.

And the fuckyou.gif should be posted to those who said that this song is boring.

People don't know what a boring song is if they think this is boring.

I'm so used to the Uno trailer that every time it starts I'm expecting it to go directly to the solo

that isn't even a solo  it's just the main riff haha

sorry for double posting but I do think this song has way more creativity in it than Let Yourself Go and Carpe Diem combined....although this does reminds me of Magnificent Seven by The Clash.

I was feeling sick as fucking hell, I could barely turn up the computer until I listen to the new song-- and I don't give a damn about sickness because

I adore Oh Love with all of my heart, but I can't stand this song. Funny how that works.

Replace Kill the DJ with Let Youself Go, and Im the same way.

Whilst I prefer the lyrics and spirit of Let Yourself Go, the guitars in this song are something else!!!! fucking amazing.

so glad we get all these songs on one album next month!!

First of all, I think you can't say anything about an album before you haven't heard it completely. Secondly, there will be three albums, so you can't say which is the best until you've heard all three of them. Plus, live versions often sound very different from studio versions, so I don't think it's possible to judge an album based on live records unless it's a live album. So without any regard to the quality of the live records we have, I think it's way too early to say that Uno will be the best album.

why you care so much about my oppinion?? i think the album will be great... if you disagree ok.. imo the quality of these recordings good enough to have a judgement about the whole thing.. i know i maybe overreact a little, but it will not make the album worse...

You do realize that Green Day is mainstream though right? They're as accesible as you can get. They play POP music. Pop music being a synonym for accessible music (easy listening). There are hundreds (possibly thousands) of mainstream artists. You can't group them all together. Common, Kayne West, Outkast, Gorillaz, Radiohead, Blur etc. They're all mainstream artists, but their music isn't shit (of course I expect lots of "Rap isn't music" comments from ignorant people who never have actually listened to rap, they just group it all together). And I could see how people could see this song as boring. It's a little sluggish, especially during the chorus. People have different opinions about things, they shouldn't be ridiculed/insulted for not liking something. It makes you sound like a titty baby. Yeah, i said it.

Well you shouldn't say it's the best album of the new decade just yet, considering you haven't heard more than half the album.

And who knows, maybe you'll dislike the rest of the songs on the album, don't set your expectations so high that you wind up instead setting up your own disappointment.

Awesome song. Great improvement from Oh Love. Feels like an old rock n' roll song. I especially like the bass.

There isn't auto-tune, there's pitch correction - huge difference. Also, the "auto-tune" effect I think people are hearing is a chorus effect.

excuse me, it is autotune, i can tell the difference. hear 0:56

btw cause the argumenr came along: i know that he can sing this without autotune perfectly - that is what makes it so annoying.

just my opinion: i dont like the song. stolen a clash beat and made it worse, lame, repetetive with shitty lyrics. seems they taking just shit songs as singles. but i guess thats the reason: nearly everything on the radio is shit these days, so poeple might like it. i don't have anything against the people who like it, you just have a different taste in music, thats fine with me.

So you basically call me a "titty baby" for generalizing "mainstream" a bit too much. And besides, I haven't heard a single song from Outkast, Gorillaz, Radiohead, Blur on the Radio at least here in years except for a few times. So my version of "mainstream" might be very different from your definition of "mainstream" mainly cause we live in different places.

And that you call me a "titty baby" for this tells more about you than me, and you conveniently left out everything else that I wrote.

The point of my post was that people nowadays expect a song to be amazing out of the gate (i.e. nowadays mainstream, c'mon Green Day isn't really mainstream is it, at least here in Finland you're lucky to hear one Green Day song/day on the radio expect for 21guns which is exactly the kinda song I don't like) and don't have the patience to listen more carefully to a song.

So you basically missed my point by about 95%.

Good job man, good job.

And when did I ridicule anyone, I just said that anyone who uses a fuckyou.gif for something that someone wrote himself is very selfish and rude. I don't think that is ridicule at all.

(not looking forward to having a huge argument about this here, please PM if you want to respond and I'm going to sleep-> then work so I won't respond in about 15-20 hours.)

Love love LOVE the studio version of Kill the DJ. It sounds even more Clash-y than the live version! Lyrics seem really cool to boot. All around sucessful experiment, boys! (Also, I just may actually get EXCITED to see a live version Kill the DJ as a b-side on a future single -- that's a first!)
