DannyDirnt Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I sped up the uncensored radio edit in a 10% and it sounds amazing. Try it, you'll be surprised, so much better!
spark in the night Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I am going to listen to this song on repeat all day at work
Ritz Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I have decided not to listen to it too much Dont wanna wear it out too soon
RetroHolo Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 It might be because at one point there were some bullshit articles that said Green Day had said they were going "back to their roots" or "back to the Dookie sound", when in fact they never said any such thing. People believed what they wanted to believe and now they're disappointed that Green Day have done something new instead of just boringly rehashing their old sound. Sucks for them! I tend to ignore comments in articles like that. They're often misleading or misrepresent the music to a degree. Ultimately people expect too much from things in general, we should set expectations low and hope to be pleasantly suprised. I guess, "don't like, don't listen" fits well - why bitch about it? Life is too short as it is!
.................... Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 It was so nice to wake up and see these news in the morning It's awesome, one of my favorite songs, though the censured version sucks. And Billie sounds just like Lady Gaga when he says : "Shot the DJ down..."
DTH Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 totally agree man, and here they are with a song that sounds exactly like Magnificent Seven by The Clash green day just stole the riff. the clash created a fully new sound with magnificient seven. the first rap song of a white band with some of the best lyrics ever made. so it doesn't sound exactly like it.... it is more like brittney spears covering i love rock'n'roll.

aldyofficial Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 This thread is getting dangerous with all those comments it's kinda effect to my holy love of Green Day songs yeah, the holy love, the exceptional that a band get from a fans, that the fans just love all songs from the band without any reason the fans just love it, I just love it. this is what other bands can't get from fans. this is what other bands can't get from me. I just love them.
dumb shiny bitch Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I fail to see how Kill The DJ is the same as Magnificent Seven. Besides the fact that they're both funkilicious.

Sixtrix Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 This thread is getting dangerous with all those comments I agree, it's getting way too dangerous. A DJ might get killed in here

Oh boy, I'm really done for now. You've exposed my fascism to the GDC. After I've worked this hard to cover it up! Shoot! Also I'm not going to bother writing something valuable when your post was ridiculous. I can totally understand not liking the song, that's fine, but your reasons are stupid.
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Honestly in this instance I couldn't care less that it's obviously based on the Clash. The Clash are one of history's greatest bands, and they aren't making music anymore. If I want to hear new music that sounds a bit like The Clash, Green Day have as good a pedigree in modern music as anyone to come close to pulling it off. And it's not like Green Day have sneakily ripped them off or anything, they would openly admit The Clash is a huge influence on their career. Plus there's different elements to the song that aren't in something like The Magnificent Seven, Green Day bring a poppier sound to it. And ultimately the song is really good.
Guest As Good As It Gets Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I think in the true story they kind of lost it after Warning and finally picked it up from American Idiot on. But I see that in your opinion you have not heard any satisfying Green Day song since American Idiot. But I can't agree on the thing that they lost it after American Idiot. I think they got more ambitious, and taking such direction and risks might scare off some fans, but it won't cease them from doing what they like and how they like to approach it. But I am very satisfied with it. I don't know, we all just look for different things in music so it is impossible to please us all. But I hope one of the 3 new albums will have at least something nice for you to offer. The gripe I have with 21CB is that it sounds to me like a re-hash of AI - it sucks as a whole and seperately, the whole rock opera approach again was a bad idea. AI should have failed with that same logic, yet the reason it worked is because the songs actually work seperately as well as part of the story (even if it is kind of vague as well) AI was for me the best thing they ever did. That was 8 years ago and being a 10 year old at the time opened so many doors for me, so maybe I'm biased. Still, it's a shame to see a band who managed to create that magic and lose it so suddenly afterwards.
aldyofficial Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Well, no need to go blind either well, I don't want to, but Green Day did blind me x_X
Nele Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 why write something valueable when you have gifs? totaly won the discussion. what if i am a retard? you have anything against handicaped people? way to go fascist. This is not about winning a discussion. To win a discussion one must have arguments. Since this is about liking something and you can't explain why you like or don't like something, no discussion is necessary. Also, you're posting on GDC, a Green Day forum, what are you expecting?
DTH Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 oh sure i should have expected rude insults. my bad.
Nele Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 oh sure i should have expected rude insults. my bad. Well, to be fair you weren't exactly being tactful, were you?

You presented your original post in a way that would antagonise members of this forum. I'm not sure if you're familiar with this phrase, but I think in the context of this situation it seems appropriate - 'If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.' Have a nice day.

No, you have the right to free speach as long as you word your ideas correctly so you don't bother anyone with your words. That's exactly why my posts are always so soft, so I get the same back. Also, I could never imagine that someone would leave a forum for such a short, mild "discussion".
