XBlade1X
I don't care what you think Rock'n'Roll is about, but to me that video just wasn't them, it was sleazy and disgusting, and it goes against everything they have always been and believed in... They are married for crying out loud.

Guest
Didn't get to see the premiere and there are a lot if pages to look back on... I've seen the video, but did anyone record the interview? Thanks!
wubbzy
Mmhmm. The band that named themselves after the fact they all smoked pot, they sang songs about masturbation and drugs, performed minor sexual acts on stage (hands down pants, asses, humping stage) among many other things and the fans are angry about some tits in a music video....seriously? :|
Harriet
Now I think about it, even if the girls weren't in the video I don't think it'd be any better. It was just plain boring and not a great way to reintroduce the band after 3 years. The video for Kill the DJ looks much better.

From what I've heard there wasn't even a context. If JOS as a music video had nudity in it, it would make sense, but to me it just sounds like a stupid excuse. Green Day have come a long way since they were pot smoking teenagers, and their last two records prove that in ways that are indescribable... but what do you think they were trying to prove with this? whats the point? Don't tell me it's just Rock'n'Roll, because I have, and i know a lot of people that have never loved Green Day's music, for sleazy naked women. The whole thing is just pointless and stupid... obviously just deliberately trying to be offensive to people that look up to them.

The boobs seem to be there as a uncreative space-filler.

Guest
The video could have been worse... Yes, the women/boobs were a bit too much, but it could've been worse. What did you expect now that it's all about "sexual tension" ?

A community is not a website where everyone is there to support your opinion. You should be ready to face other people with other ideologies and opinions that differ from yours. I do care about everyone's feelings, and you're overreacting a lot. No one offended you. I only said that we were no one to get into if they are married or not. imabout2break
that's Green Day. That's what they are, let's admit it. Their song is about sex, drugs and rock & roll right from the very beginning. they ain't teeny bopper Bieber kinda song. Remember Jesus of Suburbia? did anyone commented about the couples making out on the bed with just undies on? just sayin' Green Day is Green Day. *i was commenting about the girls in the video, coz i was expecting to see more of the trio (been dying to see them in a music video again), i'm ok with the titties, though. But maybe I'm stupid for expecting other people to be a little bit kinder and a bit more supportive to other people that come here to try and make friends with similar interests... again I wasn't asking people to agree with me or my opinion, but it would have been nice for someone to at least try and be kind to someone who is upset about something that maybe you think isn't a big deal, but it might have been to another human being with feelings too. Also, I honestly think it's somewhat offensive to Green Day (talk about offensive) that you accuse them of during anything with no other purpose than to be dickheads. Just because their intentional idea fell through with you for whatever reason, be that a narrow mind, arkwardness towards sexual display or... feminism, it doesn't necessarily make the intentions behind it pointless and stupid. StuckWithRob
Honestly it's not porn guys, I think it's implied the girls are there for Green Day and aren't lesbians! imabout2break
i don't care if anyone else will see the video and say bad things about it (specially non-Green Day fans) WE are the first person to understand who and what they are. I respect other people's opinion here. some people likes it, some people don't, and there are neutrals. we can't blame them, we all have our say about anything. but expect more negative comments from other people outside this forum. porksoda
After reading comments from all over the internet, it really seems like a lot of people don't understand the song and video. The song and video are about temptation, and trying to resist it*. The video kind of gets that point across, but it was just so poorly directed and edited that it just looks like "ooh greenday and hhot girlss!" It looks like a behind-the-scenes video with the official track added in (much like the behind-the-scenes video they posted early this week). Had the band actually been playing in unison, and maybe doing a little more than just tuning up, the video would have been 10x better. I don't know why Bayer chose to use the shots he did. I'm sure the band didn't go to the video shoot just to tune up and fake-play the song. I was excited when I read about what the video was going to contain, and that there would be an "R-rated" version, but Bayer royally screwed it up. It's a cool concept, just wasn't executed well at all. *This was all my humble opinion, btw.
Agija
Oh well, I'm a bit disappointed. I don't mind the girls but the video is plain boring, there's no progress during the song, nothing actually happens. I expected something more, to be honest. I'll probably watch it for a few more times but that's it. I'm pretty sure I'll forget about it soon as there wasn't really any action or anything that's worth to be remembered. Hopefully the next videos will be better.

Aww, I'm sorry you feel like that. Green Day fans do get extremely protective of their opinion, the worst I've seen it was The Boo where I think a few death threats were even flying around towards people who didn't like it (that may have been elsewhere on the Internet but I know it was quite bad even on here). Most of the time there's a great community here though, it's a real shame you feel you've had a bad experience over this. I'm sorry you feel that way about the video - I think it's shit too, and at first I felt exactly the same as you did. Over time the impact of it has worn off though, especially with seeing the behind the scenes video where they're not that serious about it. I get the impression it was a lot more Sam Bayer's idea/influence than the band's. Well, I hope you feel better about it soon!
