yeah there's a difference between making something sexually charged (what they were going for I'd assume) and just making something as shallow and surface-level as the video actually turned out.

This.

Maybe Sam Bayer had a really nice concept, but it didn't work at all!

When the interviewer asked what Sam Bayer had learned I was like ''Hello? Did you even watch the video? It was shit!''

It's a fucking music video not a concert.

And you people need to stop hating on Sam. It wasn't his decision to put all of this in the video.

Yeah, directors certainly don't outline the videos or anything.....

That room looked like it smelled like beer and weed, the floor was sticky, it was 800 degrees, and had an air of bad decisions.

Basically it looked like an upscale brothel.

OK, watching the KTDJ clip and them talking about it/the Jason comment. Yes, Billie says Jason's the fourth member. But he also says Jason's kind of like the DJ in the video. So, are we gonna start taking bets on how Jason will be killed?

Ok, so you know how there were pictures of chipmunk costumes and people talking about them doing weird stuff? Why is there seemingly none of that in the video? Or am I missing something?

lol that was bad. It's not the content at all, it was just really badly done in various ways.

Nice to see a new video though, not going to lose any sleep over it.

"Oh Slutty Sam" might have been a more appropriate title. :P

Damn that felt like forever while it was processing! Thanks so much!

Hmm, well I like it, I guess. Definitely not a classic Green Day vid or anything but I didn't expect that. Like I said in a different thread I expected a departure. It's definitely a lot better than I thought it might be actually but yes, pretty inoffensive, nothing too exciting. It's cool. The girls look hot, I like the pacing of the video, the band looks hot, the girl with the purple hair is especially hot, the spaghetti thing cute, the leg/cheeky Billie thing also cute. Yep. Not a whole lot to say. Have to admit I'm glad it's the girls sexing each other up and Green Day aren't really involved. Wait, was Jason even in the video, I don't remember... Anyways but yeah, I like to think of Green Day's genitals like Action Man's; just a smoothed over piece of plastic. So I'm kinda glad for their lack of participation. I don't really understand how apparently "offensive" something has to be to be rated R but I do wonder what that version will be like. Probably pretty similar but just with actual making out, touching and maybe some bewbs. Meh. It seems when it's same-sex shenanigans it's always censored/rated higher than opposite sex stuff which is ridiculous and vile, blah. But yes, I'm glad I actually like this video. I was worried I would really dislike it, I should have known better! It'll do. Bring on Kill The DJ tbh!!

Ooh, and could someone purlease upload the interview stuff onto youtube also when it's finished? Thanks!

Yeah, I'm a little bothered by it and I've been vocal about it, but, oh well. At least it's helping bring home the point that new music is coming!

Could be the same that thing happened with Kill The DJ...

The radio edit was horrible and I didn't like it at all, but when the explicit version came out i was dancing around like the ground was lava...

could be the same here where the edited version is really lame and the full (rated R) version really kicks ass... We just have to wait and see.

hey guess what

if the only point of having a woman in a video is for her to be viewed by men

that's called objectification

so shut up

That's clearly not the only point of them being in this video! and if you think it is then you don't understand the song/video or Rock N Roll

The video has a back stage/small house part/gig feel going on or just a simple Rock N Roll practice for a band, part of the Rock N Roll image and life and life style is having women their with booze etc, and the video is just showing this, the women aren't doing anything they haven't agreed to do! Nothing wrong with portraying a small band practice/party etc. And as Green Day have said sexual tension is a part of the records, the women help show the sexual tension in this video.
