Jon Benjamin
My mum informed me that she was listening to a radio show where people were emailing in to say what their favourite album of all time is this morning, and someone said Dookie. And the host incorrectly pronounced Green Day as Green DAY while reading it out.Do you just mean emphasis on day?
Hermione
I HATE it when people do that! Why would anyone pronounce it like that?! What justification could there possibly be?It seems that if in doubt posh people will usually pronounce two word phrases with the emphasis on the second word. I think that's more often the correct way to say something. Although not in this case obviously, shows them up as not having heard of the band.Do you just mean emphasis on day?Yeah. But that's undeniably the wrong way to say it

beejeezee
Never seen this spelling mistake before, made me laugh. It's directly Green Day related, because it's Billy Joel. But still. 1984 An Innocent Man - album Billie Joel

I don't think it's relevant. It wasn't a reference to Green Day. I can hear someone say they're an insomniac. That's not a reference to Green Day. Spike
Just doin' mah job, sir. It's not really up to you to tell people what can't be posted. It might have been a pretty tenuous link, but most of the thread is. No need to get your knickers in a twist and suck the fun out of it.

Backyard Skulls
I've seen a banner at Celtic matches saying "Welcome to Paradise". (Paradise is a nickname for their stadium) Don't know why they don't use the song as the goal score song, plus the whole 'green' connection it would work great
