I don't think this hasn't been posted here...

There's a new Green Day rubber bracelet selling at Hot Topic. One side has "Green Day" written in the 21stBD font, and on the other side it has "Uno! Dos! Tre!".

Here's the link.

Little bit in the Telegraph today

At 11am on Saturday, the main field is eerily empty. In the far corner, however, there's pandemonium. "This has got to be the best worst-kept secret in all the UK," says Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, playing an unscheduled, but widely announced, show in the Radio 1 tent. If anyone hadn't read about this late addition online, word-of-mouth does its work the old-fashioned way, and a human stampede heads towards the marquee, ushered along by extra stewards with bullhorns and specially erected fencing towards what amounts to an authorised flashmob (if that isn't an oxymoron).

I remember interviewing Green Day around the time of their game-changing, genre-defining pop-punk album Dookie, and praising them on what I took to be a sly satire of feckless youths who just want to sit around, drink beer and masturbate. "Satire?" they said, confused. From that moment on, we were never going to see eye to eye, but it's been hard not to admire the way in which they've become steadily more politicised and Clash-like while their hydra-headed spawn have become more banal and Busted-like.

It's also impossible to watch them without conceding that that is how you put on a rock show. During a set dominated by the hits ("American Idiot", "Basket Case", "Longview"), Armstrong and co shamelessly exploit every crowd-pleasing trick in the book. The improbably baby-faced frontman catches a fan-thrown skipper hat and does an exceedingly camp dance with it on, indulges in a bit of pantomime when a bouncer has to drag him offstage to make way for the next band, and operates the best gimmick of the entire festival: a mechanised toilet roll thrower.

This guy obviously doesn't understand Green Day or their music, but the bit I've highlighted amused me

I think it's funny you can choose a country from that list, while this is clearly in the rules:

"The Sweepstakes is open only to residents of the United States only (excluding Puerto Rico) age 13 or older."

It's a good thing with these contests I've learned to read the rules first before I get excited and enter for nothing :lol:

I noticed this too. Silly contest.

Weird news, and newspapers are usually not always sending out the right stories.

Let's just hope it's nothing serious or just not true at all.

I guess we'll see if it's true when we hear more from the festival in Bologna.. :( But if there's really something to it, I hope it's nothing serious and he'll be better soon.

Well, I don't know. I sometimes had the feeling he was a little different, not as energetic as usual. A few people already said the same thing. Still, however, I hope it's not true..

Well it seems that there's something true after all...

I know this is really awful and I'm worried for him as well, but I feel so, so sorry for all the Italian fans- especially all the GDcers- who are at the I-Day festival today. A lot of fans have already experienced the Heineken Jammin' Festival in 2009, when they couldn't play because of a storm, and their concert being cancelled again would sound like a bad joke...

I hope he will get better soon and that it's nothing serious, but I can imagine fans will be detroyed by this news. I could have been there right now if everything went as I wanted...

The whole situation is really, really sad :(

Ahh, it'll suck a lot if he misses the show. I hope that's not the case!

I'm sure it's nothing serious and he'll be fine soon.

I hope he's okay. I am worried about him. Feels like a member of my own family is ill. I'm sure he'll be fine, but not good news. Waiting for reliable updates.
