Nemo.
Für ihre energiegeladenen Live-Shows ist das Trio seit 20 Jahren bekannt. http://www.suedkurie...t473133,5658199 this is kind of sad. an article of a german newspaper about green day. desertrose
cover of Italian Rolling Stone September 2012 Billie Joe Armstrong has a puzzled expression while fixing the score for orchestra spread out on one of the benches director of Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles. Armstrong - guitarist, singer and author of most of the songs of Green Day - do not really know how to read music. "It's a terrible feeling!" He says. "You know that the notes on those scores did you write you, so you know them very well, and yet you have no idea how to read all those signs!'s Like ... like you are holding a book written in Braille." It's the last day of registration of the new trilogy of albums of Green Day: 36 songs that will be displayed on three different albums - ¡A!, ¡Dos! ¡And Tré! - Output respectively the next September 25 and November 13, and January 15, 2013. Armstrong, along with bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool, is working closely with Rob Cavallo - history of the band and co-incidentally also the president of the label Warner Bros - last overdub on the disc. Beyond the glass separating the control room from the incision, a string section is committed to record a score that is then overdubbed the line of existing plans for the track titled Brutal Love. The air is filled with notes full of pathos and drama, while Armstrong whispers: "Tell the truth, a move that looks good in an old record of Otis Redding, right?". Later, a track whose working title is Forgotten, the same string section will instead be called upon to perform a step whose arrangements show (and perhaps not surprisingly) several points in common with one of the most famous ballads of John Lennon Mind Games. Between one and take the other, Armstrong - raven black hair and leather jacket Oakland Raider - tells me that both songs that I have heard will be part of ¡Tré!, Take the opportunity to point out the overall plan of the work: "The first record is pure power pop. The second will be more garage: vaguely in the style of Nuggets, if you know. but the third, "and here Billie Joe is an eloquent gesture with his arms as if to embrace all the people present at that time in the studio , "is the one with the soul epic." We listen for a few minutes the music that comes from the speakers, then Billie Joe adds: "The first album is like if you preparassi to go to a party, in ¡Dos! Instead you're at the party. While the third ..." and Armstrong here again stops for a moment to look for the best analogy, "it's like ... as when the morning put in place home. " The next day, Green Day are working in another recording studio ever in LA, but this time in a district called Tarzana, south of the San Fernando Valley. They are finishing the last details of the mixes, and next to them - inevitable - there Rob Cavallo, trusted partner of the band since the days of Dookie, the multi-platinum disc in 1994 that made Green Day of planetary star. "The idea was just to go a bit 'to the formula of Dookie," says Cavallo. "And that means essentially one thing: simplicity. Do not expect too much stuff on the disc, because here the bulk of the work they do the drums, bass, two guitars and voice. &roll; You rock, as essential as that of the 50s and 60 ". "A hard, if not immediate, it is not even funny," echoes the drummer Tré Cool, adding that for a whole year - before entering the recording studio - he and others have tried the new songs and refined the arrangements for at least eight hours a day, five days a week. "We knew from the beginning that we wanted to achieve. A sound as 'live' as possible, say something loud and clear: 'Hey, we are, we are here and we play together.'" "It was clear early on that this would be an album of power pop, dirty and basic," says bassist Mike Dirnt, emphasizing the difference of purpose and inspiration than the socio-political allusions of their last two works, American Idiot 21st Century Breakdown in 2004 and 2009. "You know what?" Concludes with a hint of coquettish pride, "¡A!'s Our Exile on Main Street, here." About the thoughts and feelings that inspired the new album triptych, Billie Joe says that this time the songs "... have sprung straight from the heart, I have struggled to find them." The writing process was long (started even during the recording of 21st Century Breakdown, accompanying then throughout his participation as an actor on the stage version of American Idiot), but at the same time very natural, "Every time I was in mind a chorus, a verse or a hint of melody, the transcribed immediately. " At the end of this long creative period, Armstrong and the others were left with plenty of seventy songs: "Some simple fragments, others almost ready to be recorded," says Billie Joe. Of these, Green Day have actually recorded about 40. "The interesting thing about that was thinking," said Armstrong, "is that, if you look at our discography as a whole, you can not fail to notice that all albums are linked one to another, often even the one the exact continuation of the other. " This means, metaphorically, that the interest of Green Day to political matters was actually far off, as evidenced for example the powerful 99 Revolutions, written in support of the protests # Occupy Oakland last fall . For the rest, the themes are classic Green Day "I found myself again to write about girls, just like once!" Says Armstrong. "Of course, now I am not a boy, so I speak from a more ... um, adult. Analyze the role of erotic tension in a relationship, what it means for a man, how can manage it." Reached maturity, and this time he brought Billie Joe to deal with an issue as challenging as that of death. Amy, for example, the moving requiem (with something vaguely reminiscent of And I Love Her by the Beatles) that comes close to the end of ¡Dos! is obviously in memory of Amy Winehouse. While X Kid, in ¡Tré!, Recalls instead the loss of a dear friend of the band, who committed suicide two years ago. "A wonderful person," remembers Billie Joe, "but had never really grew up.'s Something that we only realized after his death. Lived a dilemma in which many of us may find themselves: it does not recognize to be an adult, but at the same time realize that it is not longer a kid ". Finally, regarding the unusual format of the album - in fact, a triple, but divided into three separate outputs - Rob Cavallo on behalf of the record company admits to "... have had a few doubts in the beginning. Especially since a ' operation that had never been attempted by anyone. " The greatest difficulty, it seems, was to determine the ideal amount of time that must elapse between the individual outputs. "Market research said that a week away from a disk and the other was too little, and six months were too many," says Armstrong. "So we decided for two months. Course, to be a project born of simplicity, we have a lot of complicated, right?". Billie Joe stops, and after a short laugh concludes: "After all, we could not act otherwise, because we are Green Day, and this is our style." http://translate.goo...ine.it/magazine
