Not a news, just a rumour at the moment:

Green Day Rumors@GreenDayRumors
Billie Joe interview in Rolling Stone soon?

Someone also mentioned this in a thread yesterday...

I've noticed billie isn't posting much too. There was a twitter post the other day alluding to him getting a magazine interview soon; perhaps that's why.

I hope he won't be like nothing happened. I mean if he doesn't wanna talk about the rehab he's free not to, that's fine, but that'd be awkward having Billie come back from nowhere like that!

I hope he won't be like nothing happened. I mean if he doesn't wanna talk about the rehab he's free not to, that's fine, but that'd be awkward having Billie come back from nowhere like that!

If he's gonna do a solo interview with a high-profile magazine, he'll probably say whatever he needs or wants to say there, and then hopefully be done with it.

Billie's never been one to shy away from talking about his personal problems... more so in his music than in his interviews, but in general this is a guy with no vanity and he probably wouldn't be the type to just pretend nothing happen or even say "it's personal, I don't want to talk about it." He'll probably say "Yeah, I had ____ problems, I had to deal with it, things are _______ now." And voila. It's not like he would go into crazy details about it but I don't think he's gonna pretend everything has been hunky dory... you can't exactly start promoting albums that came out months ago without offering some kind of new explanation as to why and how they're promoting it now.

i hope it's real...but i'm worried because of certain stupid question that the magazine could do...

A RollingS interview would be an awesome comeback.

Totally agree. I'd be extremely happy about that, honestly. :shy: Let it be true.

Rolling Stone is usually good about questions, though. At least from what I've seen.

I'm sure it would be an interview with someone that knows the band (i.e. David Fricke, hopefully, who has done very great interviews in the past)... this isn't a tabloid, it's not like a press conference where people are free to ask "WHAT WERE YOU ADDICTED TO?" or "WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?!?!"

I don't know where these rumors are coming from, but going off the assumption that it's a possibility, I really want to know if this could (dream) be a *cover* interview or just inside. Likely not a cover, but that would be awesome.

I think that a Rolling Stone interview would be the best thing to do for his comeback. I hope it's true.

needs to stop? isnt this the first time? regardless you cant really judge this based on the circumstances. it might have turned out differently if the band was ACTUALLY around. maybe not but who's to say?

I would see their point if the media had actually been over-saturated with Green Day. The fact of the matter is that unless you're a hardcore fan or music journalist, you're NOT being inundated with a deluge of Green Day material, so no, I don't think the public feels sick of them right now because they've released so many albums and movies... no one has seen or heard them.

I also wonder if the author realizes they had a play-on-words with "we haven't forgotten" in the same paragraph about the Twilight song :P Likely not, and that amuses me.

Please, if anything there's been a LACK of Green Day because of the events of last year.

David Fricke includes Green Day on his list of Year In Rock

Green Day: "99 Revolutions," from Tré (Reprise)
Billie Joe Armstrong
's public meltdown in September got more column inches than Uno, Dos and Tré
combined. They deserved better, especially the rage, pop and sense of
"99 Revolutions," written in the aftermath of Occupy Oakland. A week
before he ran off the rails in Las Vegas, Armstrong finished Green Day's
New York album-release gig at Irving Plaza with this incendiary device.
It was the 40th song of the set, but he sang it with a face and voice
alight with sustained fury and faith. I prefer to remember the end of
his year this way.

I really hope the Rolling Stone interview is true, it is a very known magazine and one of the bests. In other words, the best way to announce their comeback. :D Can't wait!
