That's why it's $20 when you first join but $28 to renew, to pay the postage on the renewal gift (that you're forced to have and pay the postage on whether you want it or not). Usually at this point I either go with the super blow-hardy: "It takes a big, BIG man to admit when he's wrong..." or the sure-fire old-faithful "Yeah, but still..." I'd say yeah, it's worth it to sign up for the first time when there is a show coming that you know there will be a pre-sale for. The extra money to make sure you get tix to a show that sells out in seconds during the public sale is much less than you would pay to a scalper. Also, in 2009 when I joined, they were doing all these secret shows, and I got a 1-2 hour scoop on when that was happening over other sources. That was sort of a Bay Area benefit though. (at the time) Other than that, yeah, there are some videos that get released early sometimes, or maybe a news tidbit you get a few hours before GDA. That's about it. They added some sort of community social network aspect to it (Like the main GD site I guess) I'm not one to get all excited about some new colors or a website being different, but it is different, a lot different, there's no getting around that.
