Sarcasm
So Tre is going to be the slow album? That sounds so wrong, somehow..
farley drexel hatcher
My parents had the opportunity to meet and talk to him. It was not public knowledge. Not until today, at least. Oooh right. Haha sorry i'm up way too late and thought maybe this was already a known thing.
Heather.
The way Billie described X Kid as being about not growing up, methinks it should really be Ex-Kid. But seeing as he's determined to be a bad speller, alrightyroo!
Cori
Oooh right. Haha sorry i'm up way too late and thought maybe this was already a known thing. It's fine. My parents said he was really nice to talk to. On the subject of the article, I'm glad to see that Amy and 99 Revolutions are going to be apart of the trilogy. Fuzz
David Fricke gets many perks. Looks like he would have been a nerd in school but being senior editor at Rolling Stone gets you lots of perks. I also enjoy listening to him in EVERY music documentary giving great opinions on my favorite bands. I was impressed with this. Don't know anything about him, but I liked this. alaniluau
What brilliant news! I enjoyed what the boys had to say about the discrete sounds of Uno, Dos, and Tre. Each of the descriptions Billie gave - "power pop", "garage-y", and "epic" - describe an aspect of the Green Day canon we already know and love. Power pop? They've always flirted with Big Star and Cheap Trick jangle. Garage-y? Look no further than the Foxtubs. And epic? I couldn't think of a better word to articulate the orchestral grandiosity of songs like 21 Guns and 21CB. So each album will highlight an aspect of the sound that they've played with, yet never entirely focused on. And may I add that Uno, Dos, and Tre all sound like fucking amazing individual albums? I'll be the one dancing down the street at 10 p.m.!
Mar
What's going on? This is what the page looks like to me, and the links don't work: Kind of related, but I was looking on the RS Twitter to see if maybe they posted a story about this article, and while they haven't, I noticed that in the background of their Twitter page, although the body of the text showing the tweets blocks most of it, you can see GD's 2005 cover in the background, on the right next to the No Doubt one. They really love them.
Heather.
I was impressed with this. Don't know anything about him, but I liked this. I actually recognized his name for once. Everytime I've enjoyed a piece of journalism on Green Day, I've noticed his name has been attached. He's definitely a fan, and so am I of him. I can't stop re-reading this article. It did so much to cure any doubts in my mind about the trilogy and the type of music therein. I'm really excited that each album will have a different musical vibe to it, and calling Tre "epic" just makes me feel like they're saving the best for last. (Or the most AI/21CB like music, which may or may not be "best")
The Grohl
Thanks for whoever posted this. I'm kind of skeptical but still really hopeful and excited. I think I'll be even more excited when we get a new single

Try the twitter images from here https://twitter.com/...#!/TalknCircles Yep, I can see them there. Thank you! Honestly I don't think my brain could fucking handle three weeks of new albums, I'm glad that was vetoed. That would just be, no pun intended, too much too soon to wrap my brain around. Fuck, this article made me too excited. Even if it did bring up bad memories of my friends and I's failed attempts to see the band at the Hall of Fame show pictured there! Gwen Stacy
I was so excited to hear 99 Revolutions will be on Tre! I heard that at the Red7 show and thought it was and amazing, political song. WalkingContradictionPL
This article is much better than coffe! I had to stand up at 6 am to wake up my cousins and when I read it at their home, I freaked out. They weren't much interested what I was talking about as I interrupted an episode of their favorite shitty disney series. But... I'm so excited! 36 songs! And party vibe I can't believe I say that, but please, can someone shorten my vacations? I want September!
Heather.
People who were wondering about Brando... Billie wrote this on Brando's memorial page a while back. So sad. I'm sure the song will be very heartfelt. (Brando is also the guy interviewed about Billie's childhood in the Driven special, and FWIW he sounded like a sweet guy) 08-31-2009 2:02 AM -- By: Billie Joe Armstrong, From: Rodeo Brando , I drove by your old house in Rodeo. There was a bunch of kids running around a fire hydrant that was shooting water everywhere. It made me smile and think of all the crazy shit we did when we were little. Your dad was my favorite little league coach. You took me water skiing. We used to sneak out of the house at night and walk around rodeo. Going on that walk-a-thon with my mom and recording interviews of random people on a boom box. We watched the Outsiders 10 million times and recited it by heart...You truly kept in touch with every person we knew since carquinez. you were the glue that kept everyone together.. I love you. everyone loves you. And I'll will cherish our friendship for the rest of my life. 08-29-2009 4:42 AM -- By: mike D, From: Bay Area Brando was a great friend to all of us. I will miss him dearly, as will my family. I am truly greatfull for the years of friendship, and good times we had together. There was no better listener, and there was no bigger smile on earth. We will never forget you, cause you were and always will be our "Brando" "I'll make sure and have my coffee for you too my brother!!!" love you!! love you brother
ghesboro
It's nice to see Green Day again on a magazine, this made my day. But seriously.. Raw Punk? Please, stop it. By the way, I can't wait to hear the new song about Brando, I'm sure it will be really emotional. I expect something sad but powerful at the same time, something Wake me up when September Ends like, only this time about a close friend. Billie knows how to write touching songs, I'm sure this will be one of them. I think I'd better prepare my Kleenex.

That's what I would like to hear, but the article describes it as a "fuzz-pop raver"... I have no idea what that means (I guess WMUWSE could be fuzzy style?) but raver sounds a bit more upbeat. (Maybe more like a J.A.R. memorial)

I've always considered WMUWSE a power ballad though.
