Undómiel
I didn't mean I want political lyrics... Why does my life have to be so small Yet death is forever? And does forever have a life to call it's own? THAT'S what I want. These lyrics. Not songs about fucking. Write them yourself then.

Lindsay
I think you've been reading too many articles that jump to the automatic conclusion that these three albums are going to be focused around sex. Seriously though, having one song about fucking DOES NOT mean the entire trilogy will be like that. Maybe you should listen to some of the songs they've performed at the surprise shows, which WILL be making appearances on the albums, because it's obvious you clearly haven't given the time to listen to them, and then go from there. As the saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover.
solongfromthestars
I know we can't tell anything from the shitty recordings and a lot of us regret listening to them and whatnot, but from what I could hear there were some awesome new lyrics. Even if some of the songs don't make it, it still shows that they've been writing serious stuff too. I'd be disappointed if it was three albums of Fuck Times so I understand the worry, but after what I've heard I'd be very surprised if it was. Although you can't just predict Green Day. NoManCanEat50drumsticks
I cannot figure out what that hand writing says right between "(no bass)" and "solo vocal ME" What I can read is "his hat" hahahaha, but I don't think that makes much sense. I think its "hi hat". Hi Hat is a part of the drums (also called charleston, you can recognize it as the two cymbals one on top of the other on the left of the drums). So probably the writing is from Trè

I think it says high hat, which is a drum part. Not entirely sure, but that's what I thought of when I saw it *edit* too late
kristóf
Write them yourself then. The thing is there's only one man in the world who can write things like that, but he's rather writing about fucking. But i wrote this about a million times so far, it's just my opinion, that's it, i won't write it down more times. (And if your opinion is that I can write lyrics like Billie Joe... well, that'd be cool. )

gloria123
this totally made my day!! i hope we get to see more new stuff soon (...such as merch ) but when i showed my mom, all she said was "that's it?! i thought there would be an actual song in it!" kristóf
I think it's his privilege to write about what he wants and not what the fans want Of course it is. And I'll deal with it. But I can say if I prefer something else. If he writes about another topic, then he writes about that. The song is catchy, and if i finally can go to a show, I'm pretty sure i will be jumping and stuff, I'll shout the lyrics, because the song is okay. It's just like... you know, If they can create things like created before, why create less?
The Pedestrian
apologies if i'm being dense but am i right to assume the writing in blue on the song list is the opening chord for each song? it's gotta be given they are A Am E F etc.. lot's starting with A!!! I think they’re the keys of the songs rather than the opening chords. Which begs the question, since when did ‘It’s Fuck Time’ have a key change in it!? blitzkriegdeb
I'm a bit iffy on the cover, on one hand it looks like it was made in MS Paint but on the other hand it gives it a very DIY vibe. The music sounds fucking amazing. You can really tell that the band is just looking to have a fucking ball on this album. It says wonders about a band when they can go from 2 "rock opera/storyline" albums to a "party" album and have it be really cool.
BillieJoe1972
I got the news about the video and album artwork while I was at work. I quickly logged on to the Idiot Club and watched it. Once I calmed down I realized I needed to share my excitement with someone else so I walked around my work place saying to myself "Nope, not him . . . he wouldn't care about the video." . . . "Nope, neither would she." I thought I was going to explode!! Now I'm here with fellow Green Day fans and I feel much better!! I really love the album artwork and the video!! By the way, does anyone else feel mentally exhausted after all this excitement today?

Billie obviously tried something new with Fuck Time, and I am sure he never had the intention to write that song for a new album (I actually doubt he ever writes songs with that intention). But they eventually decided that they found the song good enough to have on one of the new albums. The audience have shown to love that song. I don't think it's ever an issue for them to wonder if they should keep raising the bar higher. Besides that, sometimes taking a small step back can be very awesome as well. thisusernameisnowinuse
I... Fucking... LOVE THIS MUSIC! THE MUSIC IS AMAZING! AAAAAFUUCKINGMAAAZZZIIINNNGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The album cover is pretty good, as well. The only thing that bothers me about it is it's party theme. I wish they'd do something a little more interesting than that. All their other albums have been about fitting in, anti-authority, love, etc, and making an album about partying? That seems like a bit of a backwards step. With FBHT it made sense, they were trying to mimic that retro style, but I don't think it's a good idea for this album. I mean, the riffs I've heard so far are fantastic! And I bet a ton of the songs are great! But they should do a few about partying, a few about love, a few about life, something eclectic. Then again, maybe !DOS! will be entirely different. Time will tell.
