With Photographer Felisha Tolentino :)

And a little talk with the people from Idiot Club! :

IDIOTCLUB: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Where you are from? Where you grew up?

FELISHA: I'm a 20 year old full time student / photographer born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I'm currently studying Graphic Design at

a near-by college, and when I’m not at school, I’m shooting with whatever free-time I have left.

IDIOTCLUB: How did you get started in photography? Did you go to school for it?

FELISHA: I got my first camera at 14, documenting my friends as a hobby but never thought of it as a real career. I took two years of photography in high school but decided not to go to art school because it was way too expensive and I am the type of person that learns through experience. My first year at college I started to intern for photographer Mark "The Cobra Snake" Hunter. I worked my way to become his photo assistant on his big campaign shoots and I was able to develop my eye.

IDIOTCLUB: Have you worked with any other bands or music acts?

FELISHA: I have photographed a number of smaller bands, but Green Day is definitely the biggest band I have worked with so far.

IDIOTCLUB: How did you get involved with Green Day? Were you a big fan before working with them?

FELISHA: I had no idea this was coming my way, it was a big surprise since i am a huge Green Day fan! I got an email from their label saying they had pitched my website to Green Day and that the band wanted to work with me. It's a dream come true to be working with one of my favorite bands.

IDIOTCLUB: What was it like meeting the band for the first time?

FELISHA: I was nervous! On my way to meeting them I kept thinking "they must have gotten me mixed up with another photographer" because this was too good to be true. When I went to meet them for the first time Billie instantly greeted me with ‘Felisha!’ and a big hug! That was the first time we ever met and they were all so friendly and inviting. The band showed me a bunch of inspiration photos but told me, in the end to stick to my eye. After hearing that my nerves disappeared because I just had to stick to what I already do, because that's what they liked. We talked about the kind of photos we wanted and we were definitely on the same page. I knew then we would work well together.

IDIOTCLUB: How many days did you spend doing press photos with the band? What was your experience like?

FELISHA: A total of 7 days. It was very easy. The band knows who they are and I just captured it. It was so intimate I didn't know what I was allowed to shoot and I didn't want to bombard them with taking so many photos but Billie told me I can shoot whatever and that gave me the confidence to shoot. It was more of me shadowing and hanging out with the band taking very candid and guerilla style shots. Each member has a different personality and brings different energy to each photo which I hope the viewer will see that when looking at the photos we took. We took some classic photos that the fans will love and enjoy.

IDIOTCLUB: Have you heard any of the music off of the trilogy albums yet?

FELISHA: I have! We had a listening party at Billie's and listened to the 3 CDs in a row.

All I can say is: 3x albums = mindblown³

IDIOTCLUB: Will you be involved with Green Day in the future//Will fans see you on the road with Green Day on any of their upcoming tour dates?

FELISHA: I hope so! I would love to continue documenting them. It would be awesome to have a photo book together in the future because we have already have so many amazing images from the past 2 months so I can only imagine what we would get in a year! I finally got to shoot and see them live for the first time at their surprise show at the Echoplex Monday August 6th and It was so hard not to shoot. They have so much energy live I wanted to capture it all for everyone to see!
