I also see no problem with Glee covering Good Riddance. Why? Because it's fucking Good Riddance! It has been covered so many times in popular media, it has been played on so many high school proms, funerals, and tv show endings and has been covered by so many pop artists, who even cares at this point that there's another cover. I also think Glee covering Good Riddance was an incredibly obvious thing. I totally saw it coming.

This. Who really cares. Plus, everyone on Glee can sing well so it's not like it's going to sound bad. People just like to hate on Glee, I have no idea why.

Really really similar to the original CD recording, better would have been a little more originality in the cover, but that could also have led to a worse cover.

So yeah, in the end it's nothing special and wasn't worthy of any drama (but the drama was fun).

Hmm not as bad as I thought it'd be - but it's so like the original (but worse) I felt like I should've just listened to that and so got a bit bored. But, maybe in the show it'll work better.

It would have been cool if they had more of the cast singing instead of a solo singer, but otherwise it's not bad at all.

I like that they kept it as the original (well, a little bit) but I just don't like this cover. :tired:

I actually loved it. I'm gonna buy it on iTunes as soon as it comes out.

It's pretty much like the original version.

I just missed the "fuck" that Billie says in the beginning!

I think it sounds pretty nice. Not a bad job at all.

I fucking hate Darren Criss so I expected to really hate this, but it's not too bad. I don't like after the instrumental, though. I can deal, though, it's not too awful.

Meanwhile, for this episode they are ruining one of my favorite songs, New Radicals' "You Get What You Give," so, still, fuck them.

Hm, not as good as I'd hoped/expected. I like the musical version better. They should've used more choir instead of solo singers.

I don't think it's all that great actually. (and I was supportive of this when the news came out!)

It's not bad... but I can't say I'm very impressed.

I have no problems with it. But Green Day's version will always be the best.

Nothing special, but they didn't ruin the song either.

It's OK, I guess. Not major on the crap scale, the second singer that comes in is good, not sure about the first dude though =/

Anyway, yeah it's mediocre.

I guess they could've done it way worse. I'm not disappointed. :)

I'm never gonna enjoy this style of music but they did a good job of it. Nothing to particularly love about it but nothing to particularly hate either. I found it less annoying than the American Idiot Musical version.

I dunno, once I didn't hear "Fuck" in the start I kinda zoned out. :ermm:

It's not good.. but it isn't bad either.. They only thing I liked about it is that they didn't (completely) ruined it .. still, I don't like it

  • 2 weeks later...

The episode just aired and Good Riddance was cut. So technically it was never on Glee, though they did record it. Glee does a lot of songs that they don't end up putting in the show.

Well, I'm glad I forgot to record it, since it was supposedly a fucking terrible episode (even for Glee's standards) and the only thing I cared to see didn't happen.
