ThisIsNotNora
FINALLY! I love glee ._. They have made so many awesome covers of awesome songs.
Velocity
I don't think I necessarily mind Glee covering a Green Day song, I just wish it wasn't Good Riddance. It's been so overdone at this point. Besides, it would be cool to hear how Glee would do a faster, harder, more typical Green Day song, and not a ballad.

ifmemoryserves
Seems to me that most of the people "getting their panties in a bunch" are just having a laugh. No need to take it so seriously. well yes, not everyone is 100% serious, but i'm sure there are some who are seriously upset. either way, i don't take anything related to glee seriously. Hermione
well yes, not everyone is 100% serious, but i'm sure there are some who are seriously upset. either way, i don't take anything related to glee seriously. Fair enough, I think we agree that it'd be silly for anyone to take this seriously whether they pro- or anti-Glee then.
ifmemoryserves
Fair enough, I think we agree that it'd be silly for anyone to take this seriously whether they pro- or anti-Glee then. yes of course. which is why i'm saying those who are actually upset should attempt to take themselves down a notch. in the end, it's a song being covered on a tv show that no one will really care about. like i think someone else said, green day's songs have been covered before. it's not a big deal. the original is still there. it's just a overused song being overused some more on a dumb show. alaniluau
Lea Michele is one of my favorite females singers, but I'm not a fan of her on Glee. I was hoping the boys would say no to this. At least it'll give them some public awareness as they begin promoting the Trelogy.
Katarina.
Aw I thought this was a spam thread and "Green Day to be covered on Glee" was one of those changing titles.. Like it was a few weeks ago Why Good Riddance for their graduation though.. they could've picked so many other songs. Platypus, Take Back.. Sarcasm
I'm betting one fucking million dloars they're gonna do good riddance. And Fuck them, they're sickening politically correct! Katarina.
I like Glee. Same here. Not every episode, but most of it. Now that I think of it, I wish Jesse St. James came back and sang Good Riddance at the graduation. (I have no idea what will happen/when they will air that episode, I'm just thinking about the possibilities.) That way the song could still have a bit of a "fuck you" meaning, well, kind of a joke/bittersweet meaning anyway. And I like his voice. I'm betting one fucking million dloars they're gonna do good riddance. No need to do that. We already know they will cover Good Riddance.

I think Finn will get it (Not a huge Finn fan...)
DoodleBob
I have mixed feels on this. I mean, it's good that they're covering Green Day, but Good Riddance? Really? First of all, it's so cliché. Really, how many flims/shows have used that song? Also, the song is the total opposite of what people think it is, that's why I find it ironic when highschools and such play it as their graduation song. Eh. My friend is a huge Gleek and a Green Day fan in training, so she'll be happy to hear this news.
Annie, get your gun
Hahaha it was about time I guess I like the idea of them singing Green Day! But I doubt they can make something better than the original GD's version of course, or the acoustic version every single night of show or even the version with the AI cast, that honestly, was hell good. I read on the tracklist a song "I was Here" (I don't know of what artist) but I immediately thought about "I Was There" which was a good option for this case too. whatsername
My reaction to this news, I was hoping Green Day would avoid this tripe like Guns N Roses and Foo Fighters have. Alas it was not to be My thoughts exactly.

Where can I find one of those gifs so that I can get a lot of rep too?? haha you even got many rep points for not having a gif And I totally hate this show! lizziebix
Can't wait to see a video of it. Don't watch the show but am quite interested in hearing their harmonies of it. Should be a hoot!
GreenRanger
At this point Good Riddance is really like a public domain song. I mean seriously, it's a wonder people still know it's by Green Day, it's been used so many times. The fact that they're using it just makes me super disinterested. I'd consider this huge news if they picked something I could decide whether I loved or hated.
The Grohl
I was hoping they wouldn't touch a Green Day song ever....sigh guess I was wrong. I'm just really annoyed with Glee....seriously just ....no....no...no.
