Lindsay
Actually, today is a wednesday! things get announced on wednesdays don't they? Typically it's usually on Tuesdays, but it really can be any day of the week. It would've been really awesome if those rumours were true, but it still seems a bit early for a single though. Not that I would have been complaining or anything.
kellista
That's what we confirmed wasn't true.... Ok sorry. I thought it was just ruled out that it won't be released. I didn't realize it covered all suspicions.
DannyDirnt
If a new single comes in June I'll have a period...That of teh demos sounded good actually, maybe even better. That would be like an extra version that will be different fromt he single/album version
cj_unoxx
Ok. Ok. Ok. What if Green Day are up for Album of the Year at the Grammy's AGAINST THEMSELVES?!?! It's a tie!

DannyDirnt
Oh! Silly me I didn't notice that post? Sorry. I saw this coming as well, I didn't think Green Day would be THAT umpredictable! I can see it coming on July-August though I had noticed that Stray Heart sounds a lot like Blood, Sex and Booze or Hitchin' a Ride. It has that smart tone in the vocals and that calm, simple rhythm. DannyDirnt
haha, yeah they're all great! :3 But for example in Stray Heart, the part when Billie sings "But I just can't have you" reminds me of Blood, Sex and Booze when he sings "For blood, sex and booze you give me"

Heather.
I definitely agree that "But I just can't have you" sounds a lot like "For blood sex and booze you give me" (and I have sworn not to listen to any of the new music again until the albums come out, so I haven't actually listened to Stray Heart in a long time, but I do remember this)... I don't think it's a bad thing though. I'm looking forward to hearing Billie/whoever explain the meaning of that song though, because it doesn't make much sense based on the lyrics as we know them ("We'll never part" in the same song as the line "But I just can't have you" sound like quite contradictory themes and it sounds like he's talking about two people, so I'll be confused until a proper interview where they go song by song and tell me what's going on there 8) ). It is but it isn't - bands can have this thing where they find a musical theme that becomes an idiom for them, kind of a metaphor for something emotional, and they reflex to it again and again. It signals something they're compelled to explore, something unanswered, nagging. It gets interesting when they range outside of that, and that's what I feel for the new songs. I haven't hardly listened to 'em - I just love the prospect.

Red Lights Flash
"We'll never part" in the same song as the line "But I just can't have you" sound like quite contradictory themes Along with: "I wanna break your heart until it makes your stomach churn... Elena
Along with: "I wanna break your heart until it makes your stomach churn... Stay the night, I don't wanna say goodbye." also "stay the night, cos you're running out of time" doesn't make much sense to me...though i guess everything makes sense when we know the whole lyrics

I thought stray heart was about him and Adrienne. They always (not sure if they still do) used to have a fight right before Billie has to prepare to go on tour. He'll be far away for quite some time and it just isn't very easy to miss someone you really love a lot. Maybe the song is kind of a promise from Billie that his career won't take it's toll on their marriage but while he is away they want to be together really bad, but "I just can't have you". Long distant relationships are hard to maintain, but lucky for them it is only temporary. But that's how I see it..

Long distant relationships are hard to maintain, but lucky for them it is only temporary. But that's how I see it.. Great explanation! I always wondered about if it's about himself and Adie (or another loved one from his early days like Amanda. Maybe he couldn't really say godbey to her as she left him and he thought about they could never part but in the end they did.. or something like that.) or if it was about something completely different in life - or maybe there is a concept again, I thought. But now I'm pretty sure it is about him and Adie There are always different kinds of interpreting lyrics. Only the narrator himself can say what the song is about in detail. So yeah, I'm looking forward to the next interviews, I really hope they'll tell us a little more about the new record(s) and Tour since we didn't hear much for almost one month now.
