jacknovella
Has anyone wondered whether Green Day will make their own music videos for these albums? I know they are doing a lot, but seeing as it seems to be them that edit the studio updates (and it is pretty good editing), I think it is a possibility, however small. It will still be interesting to go through the studio updates after the album releases and see how much was hinted towards. I mean, even if you look back now, there was a lot of sly hints to the number 3 that no one considered. I think that's a really interesting idea actually, and definitely a possibility I guess we'll see! I can't wait for the music videos!

I'm sure some filmmaker is filming the whole album making process and these videos are all teasing some sort of documentary that's gonna come out with the albums. unexplainedbacon
Does anyone know roughly how many songs will be on each album? And also, what the theme/feel will be of each album? Like, what would set Uno! apart from the other two and vise versa...

Like, what would set Uno! apart from the other two and vise versa... We're expecting for each one around 10 new songs, but that's all based on speculation. And we don't have information about themes and stuff like that yet.
Raven93
I am confused on how many singles will be out on each album ? But I guess we will find out within the next 12 months then
The Pedestrian
And for the record, I’m not convinced on around ten songs per album.... There’s bound to be waaaaayyyyy more than that
Sixtrix
If they would have released just one new album it would have been around 13-14 songs Now they might release at least 30, that's WAY more than any of us even dared to expect from our favorite band. I think 10 per album is very much reasonable and no doubt that it will be highly enjoyable

But what if they decided to make 3 albums because they had lots of songs and they really want to release them all (or almost all) this time? Maybe they'd be more than 30. Hermione
I don't see the point of releasing 3 albums unless there's 3 albums worth of songs. 30 songs is only 2 albums worth of songs so stretching them over 3 would just make it look like they were greedily trying to make extra money by stretching them out over more albums. Bad idea. They're releasing 3 albums so I'm expecting no less than 3 albums worth of songs.

Android Jesus
I just love the fact they'll be releasing 3 albums, I mean, I'm so fucking happy with one, three it's gonna be so great! I think there will be like 40 songs, or I don't know, I just know they're gonna surprise all of us! ;D

Sixtrix
Well we will see how much they will put on each album. I am happy with 10 on each, but if there will be more I will be even more happy. As long as each album has at least the length of a full album, then I am satisfied.
PaulS
Well, obviously the whole 3-album deal was a surprise to all of us, so it's difficult to say, but... 1) There were <30 new songs played at the various shows last year, and I'd imagine they would make up the bulk of the albums. 2) Previous albums haven't all been huge by any means: 39/Smooth was just 10 tracks, with Kerplunk and Warning at 12. Despite what people choose to remember, the standard is not 15-18. 3) The track listings in the early videos - which, if not entirely accurate, are at least an indication - had 10 or 11 tracks marked for (presumably) each album. Given the (admittedly sparse) information we have, I think people are probably setting themselves up for a fall if they expect more than 12 from any one of the new records. A round 30 songs for the trilogy is probably a decent guess, much as that should probably be just two albums. That wouldn't look quite so impressive or generate publicity, though (and trilogies are inherently cooler).
No Rhyme Or Reason
I don't see the point of releasing 3 albums unless there's 3 albums worth of songs. 30 songs is only 2 albums worth of songs so stretching them over 3 would just make it look like they were greedily trying to make extra money by stretching them out over more albums. Bad idea. They're releasing 3 albums so I'm expecting no less than 3 albums worth of songs. I 100% agree. Green Day usually has 13-14 songs on their albums, and I'm sure that if they're going to actually release 3 albums, those albums should contain as many songs. 30 songs would easily fit on two 15-song CDs, and that would just be stupid and make Green Day look greedy and pretentious. (Plus, I don't think they want their fans to have spend that much money on 3 CDs when it would have fit on 2 - they realize we're not rich, and they don't want to alienate their fans by making them pay more than is necessary.) They way they described it in the press release, I'm expecting each CD to have at least 12 songs, possibly a bit more. So, 36+ songs I hope! A round 30 songs for the trilogy is probably a decent guess, much as that should probably be just two albums. That wouldn't look quite so impressive or generate publicity, though (and trilogies are inherently cooler). You make good points. I just wanted to add my thoughts to what you said - 1) At the secret shows, I have a list of 27 songs that they performed (or were on setlists, but remained unplayed). This does not include the 2 songs from the soundcheck in June 2010 ("Dreamcatcher" and "Oh Girl"), nor "It's Fuck Time." Many of the secret shows will certainly be on the new albums, but I wound't go so far as to say they'll make up the bulk of the album... Green Day usually seems to like keeping a lot of their material under wraps until it's time to actually release the record, so I suspect that they have a lot of other songs we haven't heard (of) yet. They could easily have another dozen -or more- songs that will surprise us when the CD comes out. Plus, to be honest, I don't want the secret show songs to make up the bulk of the records - a lot of the fun is having all these new song titles with no expectations of how they'll sound. I want to be surprised when I see the official tracklisting, and when I finally get to buy each of the albums. And I think most (?) people want to have at least some completely new, surprising songs on there. 2) It's true, GD's albums have a range of tracklistings. I feel like it's usually in the 13-14 range (Dookie, Insomniac, American Idiot), but yeah, it ranges from 12 to 18. (10 just happened the one time! And they also released the 39 EP a few months later, which had 4 songs, so they still had a fuller album's worth of material!) Anyway, I actually did the math: Including all 8 albums (and 39/Smooth with just 10), they average 13.875 songs per album. Basically, 14 is the average. So I think they'll be somewhere near that average on each of these CDs. Anywhere from 12-15 would be normal, and what I expect for these CDs. 3) Definitely compelling evidence. But keep in mind: Those may not be complete lists. Green Day could have added songs to them since then, or those lists may have just been the "definitely going on this CD" kinds of lists with other songs undetermined (hence that other list we saw in the first video, where we can see 8 names). Obviously this is all speculation, but I just think we should take those lists with a grain of salt. We don't even know for sure if they were album track lists. They likely were, but we don't know. I don't think that those of us anticipating more songs are setting ourselves up for disappointment. I think both sides (10 songs vs. more than 10 songs) have good reasoning. But it is all speculation at this point, so who knows?
It's Splash Time
^ Very good points there. The songs on the boards in the last video could be the songs they have recorded already.
Alan86
When Green Day played The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame they had a "Paint Splash" type of backdrop behind them. The colours that were used were White yellow and red. The Uno Dos Tre logos posted on the German store were also White Yellow and Red. Anyone else think this "Paint Splash" affect maybe used in the artwork for the albums too?? [media=]
Cris.
Hahahahahaha! Maybe they'll put out something like these guys' style: La Vida Boheme: http://imagenes.lapatilla.s3.amazonaws.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/2012-02-12T220135Z_2025779338_LM2E82C1P6H01_RTRMADP_2_GRAMMYS.jpg Really good Venezuelan band, this is the theme of the band though, they throw painting at the crowds at their shows and everything Anyways, if it was a hint on how the albums will look, then I'd be happy with that look. But maybe it was just a coincidence. We're all so excited about the albums that we're all looking for clues about them EVERYWHERE! but who knows. So far I don't think that's a very conclusive hint though, but it is a possibility. Anyways... less than 5 months before the release now. We should be starting to get more information, like track list or artwork for at least ¡Uno!
Annie, get your gun
But those colors are similar to 21st Century Breakdown style... Maybe they used white/red/yellow because this still is the "21st CB Era" ...kind of.
DannyDirnt
I hope not.I mean,it's ok,but I hope they are more creative. At least I'd choose some kind of strong colours for the titles.I hope they go back to the green Green Day logo though. Not the same logo, but it should be green xD And I'd use the pink colour in Billie's guitar in the video above for the albums name.Anyway it doesn't fit very well with green so...
