Then I'll listen to it.Now,Mary711,can you stop doing the mod and telling me what can I talk about or not? If you're gonna post only for that, that doesn't belong to this thread either,so...

I would love them to release covers as B-sides or as free downloads after purchasing a new album.

They are great at covering songs, but they never put covers on their album except for 1039 sosh and Shenanigans, mainly because they always got enough solid material of their own.

They released 4 covers as bonus tracks for 21st Century Breakdown so it definitely possible we get some more covers :)

Definitely. They're awesome at covering songs. So far, I've loved every single song they covered. They have a keen sense of that. I really hope we get some more to hear then!

Actually,this idea is great.

Actually,I was wondering...do you think When It's Time will be released?

When it's Time was on American Idiot: Original Broadwy Cast. I think we can say it's already been released. Ah, what a sweet ballad cupid.gif

Ok, back on topic (I don't even know if I was off topic, but just in case..) :

People talked a lot about It's Fuck Time making an odd idea flash through my mind. What if a country-Dominated-Love-Slave-style version of it was included on ¡Tré! and it was sang by Tré himself? I mean, I love when Billie Joe sings it, but if you think about it, it's the kind of song that one could expect Mr. Cool to sing.

It's nice to hear that my hope isn't groundless

That's what she said.

:eyebrows:
#lame joke
:P

haha the return of the spoiler in a spoiler  ...anyways...back on topic:

Well,I'd rather prefer them to let covers out in the trilogy,to have more room for new material.Only cover I'd like to be on the trilogy would be Fuck Time because,at least,it's theirs in a part.

I don't know if Billie wrote it,but Billie's the singer,so it feels like a Green Day song too.

yeah...Fuck Time is partly a Green Day song and i wouldn't even really call it a cover...also cos Billie said that it's now a Green Day song ;)

...though i don't really hope that it makes it onto an album, cos it's an amazing live song, but i don't really need a studio version of it....though i also wouldn't complain if it came onto an album :eyebrows:

Really? What songs did they cover?

Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan, Another State of Mind by Social D, A Quick one While he's Away by The Who and That's Alright (mama) by Elvis Presley

that's actually a good idea, they could release it on the album with Tre singing and a bit different and live they sing both versions, that would be amazing, then I'd like it on the album, cos it's different to the version we already know, i just don't want it to be on the album if it's like the one we already know, cos we even have it in a good quality...and a Tre version could even top the original version

Absolutely! Tré's songs are always epic! They should let him record his personal album

They should also put some warning on it, like: WARNING: children's ears could bleed

:ninja: (yes, with the ninja face).

By the way, why do you think they chose to name the last album of the trilogy Tré? I think that's because it perfectly fits with the other two, but it could be some kind of tribute too, why not, Tré's tréness is awesome.

I don't usually listen to covers,I don't know why. When I noticed Knowledge was a cover,it was kind of a let down, but I still like it.It just meant they hadn't composed such a great song, but still Knowledge sounds amazing live.I hope they sing more old stuff this time around, but I'm too impatient for new stuff. My heart is sorta divided xD

Covers offer you a chance to discover other great artists, and Green Day are good at covering songs. For example, have you ever listened to Hybrid Moments? I think they should play it live on the next tour as if it was a "must play cover", something like Shout, just to make things clear.

haha yeah...but then they definately should release Like A Rat Does Cheese and Billie Joe's Mom, though I think Billie (and also his mom) would have something against a release of Billie Joe's Mom

or: WARNING: Not for children under 3 years due to small balls

:P

i think they just took it, cos they release three albums, so they wanted to count them, took numbers and Tre's name fitted  ...but hey, it's green day, you never know xD

yeah i agree, their covers are amazing...Working Class Hero was beautiful, Outsider and Johnny B Goode were simply amazing

if they cover anything on their next albums (or singles or as a b-side etc), i'd like to have a cover of Op Ivy, The Ramones or Social D...or how about a cover of Emily's Army? :D

I think it's just a pun on (or yeah, a tribute to) his name, I don't think it relates to what kind of songs will be on there or anything. Not that I know, I could be wrong! :P

I honestly don't want any covers to appear on any of these albums, unless maybe as a bonus track or two like last time. I'd much rather hear Green Day's original music that they wrote themselves. And I really dont want Tre to have his own personal album. That would actually be a massive let down.

Ahaha that would be sweet! Maybe they're really gonna include their personal version of Broadcast This or West Coast on (just to pick one at random) ¡Dos!. As you said, it's Green Day, you never know!

Yeah whilst I'd like to hear a studio cover of Hybrid Moments I'd much rather hear original Green Day stuff. :P Like I said before, a b-side would be cool though.

Although actually, more original Green Day songs as b-sides would be even better...

Haha, this. I really liked the way they went about it with AI, as in how we got I Fought the Law as a cover and then Too Much Too Soon, Shoplifter and Favourite Son as B-Sides. That seems like a good combination between covers and original songs. I kind of wish that we had of gotten more original songs as b-sides when 21st CB came out.

Well,if Fuck Time appeared on the tour DVD I'd be satisfied as well.I only want a clear version to have in .mp3 in my mobile and all that.Maybe people will hate me for this, and I know that this doesn't fit Green Day,but I'm curious how a Spice Girls song, like Say You'll Be there, would be if Green Day covered it.I know it won't ever happen, and it's better for their reputation probably, but I'm curious.Anyway it's just a curiousity,I don't completely want them to cover it,but I'd love that they took the melodya nd the rythm and all that, and they made a rock version with edited vocals and lyrics to fit them.So that wouldn't be a girly song anymore :)

Too,I'd like to hear something like Governator, sung by Mike,so he sings it like they do with Shout for example.
