Clockwise
I was just thinking about this.... The Clash released their triple album Sandinista! in order to be released from their contract, and since then record contracts have put rules in place to stop bands from doing that. Now this isn't a triple album we're getting from GD, it's three individual albums all released very close together. This seems like a perfect loop hole from that rule, and I have no idea why they would want to do this and it's most likely not the case, but it's just a thought I had, haha. Especially since Rob is producing the album, and he's the head honcho at Warner. But if they did want to leave, this would be a good opportunity. I wonder if it was possibly true, then where would they go? Although I don't think they would leave, because then Rob couldn't produce their albums anymore Unless of course they wanted to stop making albums completely. Scary thought. Because in the 3 album video they are counting down how many albums they've made. Does that total equal how many they "have" to make per their contract? Anyone know what the standard album number contract is?

Like they don't like their percents or something. So they just want to edit it.
lizziebix
No idea how many they're signed on for at the moment, so this is totally hypothetical. Oh, I understand that. But it was an interesting point and I was just curious. their original contract was done after AI they resigned one after that i dont remember how long it was but i know they like reprise and they like rob so i dont think this is the reason for 3 albums i see. Was just curious about contracts and the total number of albums made and needed to be be made.
Clockwise
Oh, I understand that. But it was an interesting point and I was just curious. Yeah, it is. Seems like the perfect loophole to that condition. I sort of feel like Green Day have pretty much total control of their career at this point anyways, they've made so much fucking money for the label, it would be a really big loss for Warner if they parted ways. DannyDirnt
I don't get all the discussion about what the songs and albums will cost. I mean even if you think that you can't afford them right now, there's enough time left to save or earn the money to buy them. And as someone else already said, everybody's going to get them anyway. We have just explained above. We have more things to save for,you know? And more things to spend our money on.
WestboundSign!
We have just explained above. We have more things to save for,you know? And more things to spend our money on. Everybody has and I understand your worries, but in the end, you don't have to buy it, if you really can't. There's always the possibility to listen to the songs on the internet and buy the album when you have enough money for it, whenever that might be. Disapperingirl
I had a dream last night about Like A Rat Does Cheese being on one of the albums. Songs about fucking?? Perfect... just wanted to share this with you
DannyDirnt
Songs about fucking = win And I can listen to them whever I want because my mom doesn't understand a shit in English only good thing of living in a non-engligh-speaking country. But I can't avoid thinking someday they'll break up.These albums don't seem to be going to be the last, but I wonder if they'll do like ACDC and still play and be fun when they're in their 60s.I hope so. solongfromthestars
Interesting about the possibility of them leaving Warner. I don't think it'd happen but it's definitely an interesting suggestion. But I can't avoid thinking someday they'll break up. "Nobody leaves this band unless it's in a coffin" - Billie

Seriously, we keep saying that they act and look much younger than they are, I see no problems about them performing in their 70s-80s

solongfromthestars
I have plenty of things I need to spend my money on aside from Green Day albums and that's the last thing I'm worried about, September's ages away and there's two months to save between each album. Spending fifteen quid a few times isn't going to rape your wallet THAT badly. Can't we just be excited? I mean three albums, man. I still haven't quite taken that in. I'm unemployed and technically homeless and it doesn't seem that bad. Different perspectives I guess. And I didn't mean "OMG 3 albums *fangasm*", I meant instead of bitching about a few £15s we should be happy that we're actually going to get that much new music. Well, whatever. Mini rant over.
