Would be really awesome if we'd get more info on the albums! But somehow the pessimist inside of me agrees with you guys: Probably we won't get to hear any news (besides show dates) until about August or something like that. I still hope this won't come true :P

I hope we do get more info, but it's entirely possible we'll only get new show dates (whenever those are decided) and nothing more on the albums.

I hope some US shows are announced.

I'm kind of on the fence on this. Yes, I want the shows announced because I'm excited, but no because then I'll realize how I can't afford to go to more than one. And hopefully there'll be one nearby to go to.

btw...did green day ever play in Nuremberg?...it would be epic if they played there, it's smaller than munich or berlin, but still a pretty big city...and most importantly: nearer at my home

This. There's a lot of places I'm considering going when they do announce tour dates, but I don't nearly have as much money saved up as I need to yet.

Bringing the topic back to the albums... I really hope we just get a litttllleeee bit more insight on the actual album itself soon. The studio videos are great, don't get me wrong, but there's so many things I'm curious about. :runaround:

I've already saved enough for a concert ticket but... I'm sensing I will need plane tickets and a hotel room and to buy some dollars (or hopefully some euros, that'd be even better)... and i'm such a long way from there yet! And it's not easy for me since I have no job, I'm a full time student, so I actually hope there are no date announcements until after mid May at least.

And i'm tired of the teaser videos, I want some real info already.

I think it's a little too early for that yet. The single would die before the album hits the stores... I think it'll be released one month or so before the release of the album (two months tops)

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't expect any single until July at the earliest. 5 months before the album comes out would be waaayyy too soon. Sure would be nice to hear something soon though... :P

I calculated the average date of the first single coming out before each album, and the average is about 18 (17 and 2/3 exactly) days. The closest, Longview with Dookie, came out on the same day. The longest, Minority with Warning, came out 33 days before. So statistically, Uno's first single will come out on September 7, 2012. If this isn't true, all math is invalid.

But I think it's gonna be out by the time they play the shows in Europe... to me, it doesn't make sense they would play a few shows without having a new single to show off, especially since the album will be so close. But maybe that's just me. Thanks for your calculations though, interesting to think about. :)

Hahaha. I feel I love you for doing the math and posting it. :D

That's a good point. Marketing-wise it doesn't seem smart to me (but what do I know?) if they release the first single more than a month before the album comes out. But that is true, What are they planning to play at those shows if there's not even a single by that time? Maybe they'll just want to throw of bunch of songs from ¡Uno!, if not all, and mix them up with some oldies? But then they know it'll get leaked. It'll be interesting to see what the setlist from the Green Day shows turns out to be. How big are these concerts anyway? for how many people? And I don't mean the festivals, just the Green Day concerts.

I appreciate the singles math done above  but I also think there HAS to be a single out for the festival shows.

Also, we've all been wondering how they're going to deal with putting out singles for each album with only two months between.... well one way to deal with it would be to put out a single or two well in advance of Uno, giving it more room to promote itself before Dos comes out, etc.

Oh, I agree guys, business wise, it only makes sense. And for the benefits of the concerts, it would be only logical for the single to be out for then. That was just math for funsies lol
