Maybe there are three albums because each album will be the story/intimate songs about each individual band member? That would definitely count as "voyeuristic" ....

oh god...then just imagine Tre's intimate songs !! :lol::eyebrows:

I was alone

I was all by myself

too sensible sounding for Tre, there's no punchline

True :P

But this made me remember hearing one interview with Tré (only Tré, not the whole band) on a Belgian radio station where he was completely serious for (I think) over 15 minutes while talking about America Idiot.

It was odd…

it can't have been Tre... unless he's like most guys and is the joker around friends (no offence intended of course)

Why would they ever re-record their old stuff?

Ridiculous thought and would never happen.

Definitely not a ridiculous thought.

I would love it if they re-recorded their old stuff.

It would be better quality and plus Billies voice has gotten so much better as he's gotten older.

I think a really interesting thing about Rob Cavallo being back is how Billie said in this interview (http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/380424/green-days-new-producer-was-fearless.jhtml#id=1611059) as to why he wasn't their producer on 21CB was because "Rob was going in a different direction than we were." I was always kind of under the impression that Rob just needed a break after AI (or was intimidated to top it) and more importantly, his career with Warner was taking off and he needed to focus on that and less on producing... and maybe that's what Billie meant, because I never thought of his leaving as a sign of any creative divergence from the band, but the way Billie said "a different direction" makes it sound like a music difference thing. So I wonder if the fact that Rob is back means these albums are consciously going back to whatever direction Rob was going in when they parted ways. Unless that was just Billie being vague about Rob's career path taking a turn.

some just posted this on the youtube video where they announced the albums release

(wasn't me)

A mixture of excitement & apprehension!

21stCB was a let-down, but this is one band that produces great tracks, even at their worst they aren’t ever that bad. Just hoping they drop this act that they've carried with them for the last seven to eight years now, it’s getting boring. Men in their forties just should not have to wear that much make-up lol. I’m starting to wonder if it’s a personal choice or they're being bullied into it by shotgun elitist fans and their terrible, to be feared, rage.

You guys agree?

No I don't agree. So what if they used a similar formula they did for AI? The songs were still awesome. And as long as they still look good in make up it shouldn't matter. In fact the make up shouldnt matter...it's all about the music.

Should Alice Cooper stop wearing makeup?

Such things are so irrelevant to my appreciation of music.

That's exactly what I mean. It's about the quality of the music, not the make up

Well the fact is green day have been wearing make up a lot longer than that. People seem to have gotten it in to their head that it started with AI. Look here they are on the nimrod tour wearing eye make up, and i really doubt this was there first time wearing it.

Did it corrupt the music back then too?? People that didn't like the AI era seem to latch on to the eye make up thing and use that as a negative mark against the band for that era, but it makes no sense cause they were doing the same thing for at least 6 years before.

They often used to wear eyeliner in the early days of the band too. Billie and Tre here for example:

Whether someone has spent a few seconds sticking a bit of eyeliner on or not is the most unimportant thing ever.

I'm not worried about the three albums not having three albums worth of top quality songs. I think they will anyway :P, but even if there was only 1 or 2 albums worth and the rest was filler, that's still better than just having 1 or 2 albums in my book. A couple of albums worth of top quality songs plus a few slightly less than top quality songs as a bonus? I'll take the bonus . I really don't think they'd do it this way unless they were sure the songs were good enough though, from what we've heard and from how full of creative energy they seem to be I'm very optimistic that we're gonna get 3 great albums.

Exactly it has no impact on the music at all.

Just noticed in that video at 0:22 Billie says "Awesome As Fuck" :D

Well,I won't say anything about "the important thing is music" or anything like that because I admit I do care about theur appearance, but still I prefer music.

Now,I agree with 21CB,it's my opinion. But I don't agree with the make up issue. And what if theya re in their 40s? What now? They should become old ancients!? Green Day are NOT regular men. They are NOT boring. And precisely the fact of them acting like if theyw ere on their 20s is like 40% or why I became a Green Day fan.I can take inspiration from that.If theyw anna wear make up,they can! Them being 40 doesn't mean they have to be like my grandpa!

I hope it's not graffitti :tired: I'll like any artwork they decide, but now that they're doing something new and different the covers should be totally challeging, like a puzzle connected by the 3 or something like that... idk

Agreed. We don't need to live in repetition.Let's just pray for something original and creative.

I had no idea so many people didn't like 21CB. I love it! It's not my fave but I have no complaints (except for Last of the American Girls...I just don't like that song.)
